Reviews of The French Market
R. D.
Wow , just wow. I went into this place by chance as I parked opposite it and thought I all have a look. And I ended up buying a lot of food. The quality of the baguette is exactly what you find in France the cured ham was better then any Spanish ham I have had. The butter was up there with the best I have had. In terms of food they don't have a huge selection but what they have is excellent. That staff are really friendly and nice they have French speaking staff as it makes the experience authentic. I will definitely go back

Very nice selection of posh French goods. Had a nice pastry and bought some nice jam. Will go back to check out cheeses and other items at some point.

Delicious food, good coffee and nice staff :) I don't know her name, but the girl with black curly hair is always so kind and puts a smile on my face every time I go there

Delicious almond croissant ! Where have you been all of my life. Such a lovely friend place.
I cannot wait ot try all of the other pasties and goodies they have to offer

great bakery and bread, the baguettes are perfect. the wine cellar is well stocked and interesting with high quality wines as well and a nice deli section section well worth a look. the staff is always charming and ready to help. A very good place for fine food, you should try the cheese twist...

The bakery is amazing & the staff are so friendly. The chocolate & almond croissants are incredible…seriously the best I’ve ever had!

Beautiful shop with French local producers. Amazing unique cheeses:Ecume de Wimereux with truffles, mimolette de la Cote d'Opale, Pave de Calais, petit Sable de Wissant.
So tasty, delicious and Divine

A good mix of products available, we were very pleased to see a wet-fish stall that also had smoked and shellfish for sale. We bought a lovely venison pie from Brockelbys: very flavoursome.
However there is room improvement. At present it lacks fruit + veg, cheese/deli stall, butcher. Hopefully these will be included in future.

Fantastic bread, perfectly kept cheese, some interesting epicerie and a selection of fine wine. Has generally improved my mood over the last year.

I'm a frequent buyer of the bakery and love it. One of the few places where I can find truly French bread in London. Their baguette is divine!
M. S.
Amazing bakery. Their almond croissants are to die for. Great sourdough and baguettes.

For 40 years only one baker in the UK has been able to satisfy my palate for a decent Baguette (a small Japanese baker in West Ealing) and with Brexit I was in despair of ever finding a baker nearer to home who could produce a Baguette to an acceptable standard. I can now say that the baguette made by the baker in The French Market in Whetstone has exceeded my expectations, I can’t wait to reach my target weight so I can savour other delight from this artist of the bakers oven, Je te salue merci beaucoup.

Just made my first visit. Very brief so first impression only. The bakery is fantastic. Friendly helpful service. Bought almond croissants as a treat. They are extraordinary! Enormous. 1 would actually have been enough for 2 of us, and filled to bursting with a creamy delicious almond confection that puts the dry facsimile one normally gets to shame. Croissant itself was melt in mouth perfection. The cheese selection was a little disappointing as it seemed to focus on very pricey high end cheeses. However the little goats' cheese I did buy was absolutely delicious. But we could do with a wider selection including some more basic rustic cheeses. But it is still a great addition to the high street, and we wish the enterprise all success.

Amazing wine and charcuterie selection, very good bread and pastries if not a bit on the pricey side.
Very lovely staff and knowledgeable about their wine.

Beautiful place delicious freshly baked bread baked on the premises....friendly service with a smile....amazing quality of French wine food and more...Good luck 👍 🍷

Very nice patisserie although quite expensive. Must improve on the coffe. Very very nice and freshly baked bread.

Delicious bakery products. The nutty bread was amazing. Such a great taste, I could eat it on its own. The Pain aux raisin is the best I've ever had. So soft and flaky at the same time! Can't wait to get some more...but we'll have to wait until Sunday...as we are not quite close by...although worth it. It was a little taste of France...that sadly we can't visit at the moment.

Great treats and lovely people at the store that are so helpful. Will be visiting again! I bought pastries and fig jam with no refined sugar, unheard of! The prices in store are completely fair in my opinion for the quality and artisan businesses that are being supported.

Great bakery and French deli stocking very good wine, cheese, jams and other French products. It's rather pricey, but very good quality. The baked goods are fresh and delicious!! My wife and I are regular customers now.

For my birthday my daughter made a meal and we had a mussels starter. She bought a sourdough loaf and baguette from the French market so we could mop up the sauce. Best bread in ages!
She also bought a croissant and chocolate brioche for dessert (she does love almond croissant but they had sold out).
Croissant lovely, chocolate brioche (microwaved so melted choc in the middle) was even better.
We were all impressed.
Daughter off in the am to score some almond croissants (get there early to avoid disappointment). 🥐🇫🇷🥖

The bakery is phenomenal and the delicatessen part has amazing products. If you have some craving for French patisserie, then look no more and get yours there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Really nice bakery section in the shop, I love the baguettes. Their viennoiserie and patisserie selections are nice as well. The Paris Brest and the flans are really really good.
K. G.
4.5 to be exact. Great baguette (crunchy and soft option) and a respectable selection of wine, beer, cheese and charcuterie.
The shop is clean and the staff friendly.
The pastries have a nice texture, but taste flat. Have the feeling that they were a tad underbaked.
N. S.
Amazing French bakery! Fantastic daily baked bread, croissants and brioche. People are super-friendly. Delighted to have a taste of France in North London.
A. L.
Authentic French bakery in London. Their products are DELICIOUS and FRESHLY made. I am very picky when it comes to food and still have no doubt giving them 5 starts. Recommended products: almond pain au chocolat, paris brest and mimolette cheese.

The bakery is one of the best ones I've been to in whole London. The grocery store is equally exceptional, with a wide selection of wines and cheeses.

First visit this morning, very friendly staff. The baguette is amazing. Can't wait to eat the citron tart. Yummy! Please go for quality and great service.
Will return again for sure.
Merci beaucoup. 🙌🇨🇵

What a gem of a place: authentic french cakes, beautiful fresh baguettes and many other products to explore 🥰
N. M.
Bakery and cakes are delicious, and the coffee is good.
B. D.
Good produce. Bring your cheque book though. Any pricier and you might as well jump on the Eurostar and treat yourself to the real thing. No fruit and veg but lots of wine and cheese if budget is not an issue.
T. R.

True delight of a discovery. Sells fresh french products that you would be hard pushed to find of the same quality anywhere else in Britain.

Excellent addition to the high street. The bakery is fantastic. Unfortunately some of the other products are rather overpriced.
T. H.
Good French bread and decent cappuccino. Shame they do not have a toilet for clients.
T. P.
Friendly colleagues, great croissant & bread. Looking forward to the rest of the store opening next week

I’m so glad we have the little gem in whetstone. Fresh pain aux raisins, crossiants and canele’s. Just try and increase the range of patisseries. 👏👏
