I cannot recommend Kate enough! The wedding cake and cupcakes tasted divine. Everyone seemed to love them. I didn't mention the cakes were vegan and no one could taste the difference. So delicious. Thanks again :)

A wonderful service from Kate. When my husband and I met her at her home, she was professional, providing an agreed decided selection of cakes and also, excellent at tailoring these to our specific, dietary needs. All estimates, and invoices were received promptly throughout the process. Kate was also very helpful in communicating with the florist to dress the cake. Finally, on the day, Kate was efficient and organised and provided a wonderful , polished and great tasting cake! It looked beautiful as the pictures provide evidence for :-)

Also this company is 100% vegan friendly and my allergies were taken care of. I believe Kate can do most themes/designs you have in mind, as seen on the social media. I am comfortable enough in my status as an evil meat, dairy and egg eater to confirm the vegan cakes and bakes provided by Jesmond Cake Company are absolutely delicious and you honestly cannot tell the difference. For the past two Decembers I have endured a 4 hour non-first class train from Peterborough to Newcastle just to take part in Kate's workshops, and where I have crafted delectable iced gingerbread in the shape of sausage dogs and hedgehogs, Christmas-themed chocolate cakepops, and some incredible Biscoff cupcakes that I still have fever dreams about to this day. My baking skills are average at best, but Kate goes above and beyond to provide support and invaluable advice to make you feel you can apply for a job at the Ritz or a really posh Greggs in a Harrods or something. She's really friendly and genuine, she's got great taste in comedy, and she's also what is known as a "feeder" so even though you're going to a workshop to make cake, she will have back-up cake available as well for people to eat and honestly who doesn't love that? The location is also really easy to find and the kitchen area has a great layout which feels really friendly and communal - I found during the workshops you're not only making a selection of sweet treats but you can also easily chat to others and have a laugh so it's an experience I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in the area, or even if you're stuck in the Midlands like me. TL;DR - Jesmond Cake Company is really great and I'm not even engaged yet but I've already decided at my wedding I will be having a cake made by Jesmond Cake Company (or a break-up cake to cover the other eventuality, which I plan on consuming entirely by myself).

I ordered a coffee and walnut cake for my parents anniversary. Not only did the cake look incredible but it exceeded our expectations on just how good vegan cake can taste. I've been fortunate enough to order cupcakes for a family members birthday and partake in a baking class with Kate too which was a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Ordered a three tier cake for a party and was absolutely delighted with it. Kate was very easy to communicate with, flexible with delivery and the cake tasted amazing! We decided to have the top layer gluten free, to cater for dietary requirements and it was the best gluten free cake I've ever tasted! The cake was beautifully decorated with fresh fruit and guests commented on how tasty it was (they had no idea it was all vegan!) Would 100% recommend this company!

I wasn’t too fussed about having a wedding cake until I met Kate and tasted her yummy vegan options at her home. She was very professional and very friendly - she made us feel so relaxed during the tasting session. We had some really sketchy ideas (literally) and so on our wedding day, when we saw the cake, we were amazed how she had brought them (and us) to life! The detail was incredible and everyone commented on how beautiful and tasty the cake was. Couldn’t recommend her enough!

Kate is one of the most talented and creative bakers in the UK. I've had the pleasure of attending cake pop and biscuit decorating classes at her lovely workshop in Jesmond and she made my wedding cake, with six tiers of different flavours, from traditional fruit to chocolate brownie, decorated with fresh fruit and flowers. Kate makes everything fun and is so generous. After her classes you'll go away with a box of delights and the indulgent cake-tasting afternoon she hosted for me, my fiance and his parents was the highlight of our wedding planning.

My husband was the first one to order a cake from Kate for my birthday a couple of years ago. We are not vegans but I had just given birth to our youngest daughter who was dairy intolerant and I had to cut out dairy from my diet. It was absolutely the best cake I had ever had and we have been ordering cakes for every occasion ever since, even though the dairy issue is now sorted. We had a Christmas cake too, which was absolutely amazing. Kate has always been very accommodating to all of our requests and the service has always been impeccable. Kate made our wedding cake and the entire experience was amazing from start to finish. She explained the process fully for a consultation and tasting then made sure we had an estimate for the cake before anything was booked or confirmed after we had paid our deposit. Did the wedding cupcake class with my friend on Sunday 2nd June and absolutely loved it! Kate was a brilliant teacher & the cakes tasted & looked amazing! My friend and I can't wait to do a class again! The first time I used this wonderful company was to make a cake for my husband’s 30th – he has a severe egg allergy and I did not have the confidence or know-how to make a vegan cake. Kate made him a gorgeous cake complete with cake toppers that looked just like our much-loved cats. It tasted delicious and Kate was friendly throughout – she even sent me some recipes for cupcakes I could make for him, at no extra cost! Not long after this, I went with my friend Aidan to her biscuit making course and we had a brilliant time learning to ice biscuits. Kate was so friendly and hospitable and we both still comment about what a lovely afternoon we had. I still make iced biscuits all the time. It’s really lovely to be able to make biscuits for my husband and also for my vegan (and non vegan!) friends and colleagues. Kate also has some great recipes on her page – I am excited to try out the delicious looking marmalade cake :-) I would highly recommend her services as a baker and a class teacher.

Kate made the cakes for my wedding and they were beautiful! Kate was extremely professional and friendly throughout- even offering me some free vegan tiffin from a recipe she was trying out to take home! We ordered two separate wedding cakes (one for the lake districts where we married in a small wedding, one for our party a couple of days later at home) we also ordered 24 cupcakes for the day. The cakes were two different flavours and Kate listened to and executed our vision and wedding colours absolutely beautifully! I am vegan- however none of my guests or my husband were and all loved the cake and cupcakes- there were none left! I Will absolutely be using Kate’s services again in the future for birthdays etc! Kate was recommended to me by a friend. I asked her to make a vegan chocolate cake for my husband who was missing the taste of rich chocolate. She was a complete professional and so helpful. She made a delicious cake without nuts so my son could have a slice. She also made a packet of divine macarons - nicest ever tasted. She was so welcoming when I went to collect and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Can definitely recommend and she’s my go to for top notch cakes for all occasions. No wonder she’s so busy!

I love Kate. I attended one of her Macarons making classes which was purchased for me by a friend after he went to one of her Cake Pop classes. I absolutely loved the class, loved the macarons (bring home at least 40 which far exceeded how many I thought I would get). Kate was so friendly and hospitable. I had the best time, as did my friend who was clearly so impressed that he bought me an experience as a gift. I have to say that I think Kate goes above and beyond to make everyone comfortable and have fun. She also limits the amount of people per class to ensure people have a great time. Great value for money. I attended one of Kates Biscuit decorating classes with my Sister-in Law as she bought this for my birthday and we had a great time. So relaxing and everything was all prepared for us on arrival. All techniques were explained beautifully and we even got a couple of recipes to take home to try them out ourselves. Thank you so much for the best chocolate fudge cake we have ever eaten. It was our daughters 18th birthday and we were worried we wouldn’t be able to get her a vegan birthday cake. Fortunately I came across Jesmond Cake Company and wow...what a find it was. Kate was so helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. She went above and beyond the call of duty even to ordering a bunting decoration on our behalf. The decoration was exactly what we wanted and the cake itself tasted and looked absolutely amazing. Little touches like having the ingredients on the box lid, a best before date and even information on what wasn’t edible eg the bunting! made it so special. The cake was so moist and even although it was stated as best before 29th October, we had the last of it on the 1st November and it was just as gorgeous as it had been on my daughters birthday on 27th October. Chocolate fudge cake can sometimes be a little sickly but this cake was anything but. I still can’t work out how you make these marvellous creations at such reasonable prices. Thank you so much Kate from the bottom of our hearts. You made our daughters 18th birthday perfect. We will definitely be back for future purchases.

How wrong was I? Kate's cakes have always been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The fruit cake was to die for! Kate's workshops are always fun, everything is provided for you (plus extra tips, techniques and a good cuppa). I've done cakepop classes, biscuit decorating and macaron classes. You always make LOADS. Classes are relaxed, fun and friendly and the time just flies, I can't wait to do another!

I have eaten various cakes, biscuits and treats from the Jesmond Cake Company over the last few years, and have been so won over by the consistently high quality goods that I now look for vegan cakes before any other type when I am shopping or dining out. It is vegan cakes for me now whenever I can get them, although none have yet tasted quite as good as those from Jesmond!

I love these cakes. They are delicious and more-ish and incredibly reasonable for a hand made, bespoke service. I'm not vegan, but I would happily pick one of these cakes over many standard cakes from well known bakeries, like Konditer & Cook, for example- and I often have.
