Since it is gaining lot of admiration for great quality and variety, we thought of popping in to find out. And we were not disappointed and true to it's reviews, the bakery had some excellent products all freshly baked. The lovely treats were flying of the shelves as it was lunchtime but we got their just in time to enjoy their delicious vegetarian pizzas featured in the photos. We also had some great filter coffee too, a delicious Christmas blend. Apart from freshly baked breads, they also had some delightful jams and quirky chutneys on sale. And not to forget the yummy cakes, bars, buns. Mostly people were ordering takeaways but we sat down in their cosy little area which is filled with books for you to read while waiting. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, friendly staff and intend to go back to try more of their products.

SFB is a great-bread beacon that beams so brightly! Everything they bake, from their satisfying and flavoursome breads to their indulgent and luxurious pastries, epitomise the care they take with their ingredients, and the high regard that they have for their suppliers. I love this. I have huge admiration for the SFB team of dedicated true artisans working tirelessly to produce bread of such high quality. I thank them all for my modest purchases, and I look forward to being able to sit at a table, sip a coffee and wallow in the heady pleasures of baking bread!!!!

I'm a student and I got really lucky and walked in out of curiosity. They have amazing bread and cakes and savoury baked stuff. Really delicious. It's a really unique bakery. If you live nearby pip in. You won't be disappointed.

Obviously, the food is delicious and the staff are incredibly friendly. There is a real sense of community that oozes from this ex primary school kitchen. This award-winning bakery won’t just provide you with bread, pastries, fermented goods and grains....they’ll give you an impressive education in food too!

Small Food Bakery tops the list of good experiences we've had while living in Nottingham. We're big city Canadians into food. Subpar baking just seems wrong once you taste their bread. Their fancy butter, their custard tarts, and their donuts are subjects of obsession. Some of the best meals we've had in Nottingham were served during the casual, yet excellent, Small Food Suppers on Thursdays. I regularly order delicious cakes from them for birthdays/special occasions. The hard-working staff are celebrities to us... talented, professional, reliable, innovative, kind. As if it was not sufficiently heroic to keep the bakery's doors open during a pandemic, they started offering absolutely glorious organic fruits and vegetables. They basically saved our lives during the lockdown. It'd been years since I'd tasted tomatoes and herbs like that. The online shopping experience is excellent -- we've encountered zero issues with our orders and never waited in line, not even once. In fact we hardly run into anyone when we collect supplies on Saturday afternoons. With a happy heart and food boxes in-hand, and only when social distancing permits, we sometimes poke our heads into the shop to catch a whiff of poetry and wonderfulness buzzing about the bakers as they do their magic. Small Food Bakery folks: you are certified superheros.

This place is just amazing. Obviously the bread and pastries are stunning, but it's the people. From Kim the owner to the rest of the team. Their passion for clean honest food is genuine. Really makes you think about your loaf of kingsmill bread. The courses they do are truly fantastic too. I've done one. Wish I could get here more often.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This bakery is nothing short of brilliant. Amazing food, made by amazing people, using amazing ingredients. They've coped amazingly well with Covid and continue to put out great quality food. Wish you every success for the future.

GO! One of, if not THE most welcoming bakeries I have ever been too. During the pandemic the whole team have worked so very hard to keep it that way and it still is, if not an even more special place. And it's not only bread! You can get everything you need for your cooking and cupboards from olive oil to beautiful water kefir, from flour to sublime biscuits, jams, granola, lentils, peas, oats... the list goes on. What makes it so special is that you know where all of these foods and all the ingredients going into everything made there is coming from, from the nourished soil, to the farmer, to the miller and everyone in the food chain to the bakers and then to you. The considerate sourcing and stories told through the food just make it even more delicious! It's impossible not to go and have your spirits lifted by the warm, friendly staff, everything they are doing and creating and of course, all the wonderful food you take home. GO!

Bought a veg box and bakery products on line for collection. The bread is worth the journey on its own but the pain au chocolat and egg custard tart were amazing. Veg box was packed full of interesting veg, herbs and salad. Worth a visit just to try the almond, olive oil and rosemary sourdough. Wished we lived closer ♥️

Kim and her team have amazing community spirit, going above and beyond during lockdown to adapt the website and shop, so as to ensure we could continue to get the most delicious top-quality sourdough baked goods including my favourite, Radford Wild bread, as well as organic flour, homemade jams, fruit & veg and more. Long may this bakery rule!!

Over the last few years, Small Food Bakery has become the center of our food world, through the amazing food they make and the network of local food producers they're a part of. The bakery is constantly evolving, their hard work and dedication to changing food system for the better is an inspiration.

Incredible. So much more than a bakery, this is a place that has real heart, not just in the creation of exceptional products made with the very best ingredients but in it's politics too. Small Food Bakery is changing what it means to be an independent food business by putting it's money where my mouth is. Thank you. x

For me this must be the find of the millennium. Kimberley Bell and colleagues are using YQ(yield quality) and other landrace (wheatfields containing a wide variety of seeds) flours to bake real sour dough bread etc. So what's so special? Well bio- diverse wheat is less intensively grown, require less water and fertiliser and is not destructive to the soil and wider environment as modern high yield single seed varieties. Oh and they have higher natural protein levels and taste so much better. Kimberley and co bake truly fantastic breads at the Small Food Bakery and are super friendly and helpful. Do visit and or check out their website.

An absolute asset to the community of Nottingham. Produce is of the highest quality and deserve full praise for taking the time and care to do things the right way; be that in the ethical and equitable sourcing or in their competent management of public and employee safety with regards to social distancing! Support independent business!

Amazing baked goods, preserves and unusual drinks. Really enjoyed the "small food supper" hot food on a Thursday which you can eat in or take away. Everything is ethically & sustainably sourced too!
