Incredible quality patisserie!!! The staff were really lovely and we enjoyed the cakes a lot. A lot of options to choose from inside and really great to see choices from bread to pastries to chocolates! Having some student discounts could be even better but well worth visiting this beautiful gem. I wasn’t sure where the coffee beans are coming from but having some pour over coffees could be even better as well. Maybe a heater on the outside seats could be even better for winter months. Will definitely coming back to visit again :)!

Lovely boulangerie and definitely worth a visit. Coffee w really good. The ciabatta and traditional (baguette) were good as well. I visited a few minutes after opening in the morning in the hope of freshly baked pastries, but I was disappointed as the apple and pan au chocolate pastries didn't taste freshly baked. You can get freshly baked pastries from the mainstream artisan bakeries

Hi - Have recently started buying from your shop 2/3 times a week after a gap of several years. The baguettes are not what I remember nor do they resemble those we have eaten in France. The poppy seed baguette had a tough crust which was baked so hard on the bottom that it was almost burnt and unpleasant to eat. The baguette tradition also had a tough not crunchy crust and the flavour did not make my mouth water as it used to. The mille feuille pastry was overcooked and the brioches were a little dry. What's changed? (apart from me getting older!) The service was impeccable.

After taking a long walk, I found this place by chance. That’s a good local bakery. I slightly remember this strawberry tart was around 3.5 pounds and caffe latte was 2.5 pounds. There’re few seats as coffee terra space.

Large selection of patisserie and sweet stuff but unfortunately, the shop is very small. They only had 3 tables but the cakes itself are delicious!

We stopped in at Gatineau while doing a walk around Oxford’s green spaces/parks which took us around the edge of the city. It was the perfect mid point to stop at where we could get a coffee, savoury and sweet for lunch. Entering the shop there was a maximum of three allowed in, with hand sanitizer at the door/till and compulsory mask wearing. This means that there is often a short queue on the street, even if you have pre-ordered online for collection. We purchased a quiche, ham & cheese baguette, raspberry tart and a strawberry tart plus two flat whites. It was all very reasonably priced. The quiche and baguette were very tasty, reasonably sized, if anything on the larger side of portions. Our flat whites were a little weak for our taste and a bit disappointing. The two tarts were lovely, fresh and tasty fruit with a crispy base and flavoursome cream. We’ll definitely be back again when in the area.

I am so happy Gatineau is in Oxford and that their delicious pastries are also available in coffee shops in town (Ratio which opened yesterday on George street for example). It's like being in France again to eat these delicious croissants and it's such a wonderful feeling! I couldn't dream of a better start for my day when I treat myself with one of these pastries. Amazing place to have a delicious pastry with your coffee . There is a huge variety of pastries , croissants , cakes ,pies and bread you want to try everything in this shop ! The stuff is really friendly and helpful. Probably is the only decent place in Oxford that you could have REAL pastry and not some cake or sponge ! Definitely you need to try the huge selection of these pastries .Well done to the chef !

Hello everyone It is sad that the previous comment seems to have been written to discredit the bakery. We are French and during our visit to Oxford, we had the opportunity to taste some very nice viennoiseries at Gatineau's bakery. They were lovely, just what we expected from a French Baker. We are very proud that French talented artisans share our know-how abroad. Keep on the good work making people happy and don't worry about jealous nasty people. They don't deserve any attention.

Good small patisserie is Oxford. Last year very active trying some innovation in design shop, also trying increase assortment. Hope to see once in this patisserie some special cake, some really good one, that possible to eat just here (some Gatineau Summer Town unique cake please) !

I have not stayed but me and my friends have ordered from this place a few times (Galette des Rois, LARIEUX cake, etc.), and the cakes/pastries have never been anything but outstanding...a little out of my normal price range, but well worth the extra pennies! Highly recommended!

Staff have been quite rude this weekend when I forgot one of my boxes and interrogated me when I returned to collect despite me being able to name every cake in my box ! . The window that lets you see ‘les chefs’ had people working behind who were laughing loud enough to drown out conversations in the front and one of whom was on their mobile whilst supposedly preparing food.

Brought my French exchange student here for a croissant and a coffee, which followed quite quickly by a tarte au fraise! Authentic French bakery. The pains au chocolat are excellent, do try the pepito too. Bread, quiche, and chocolate all delicious. The prices are quite high, which is why I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars.

(Translated) Modestly he defines himself as a French Craftsman but he is Bakery, Pastry and Chocolate Shop. Excellent for a French breakfast, very similar to the Italian one. It would be nice to find Italian clubs abroad that respect Italian taste and flavors as well. The restaurant is welcoming, however, only three outdoor tables. Inside only five stools on a counter. Sin. The staff is kind. The good almost "Italian" cappuccinos brioches excellent delicious vanilla cream. Excellent breakfast. Prices almost cheap compared to quality. Two croissants one with raisins the other with 9,20 pounds cream. If you are in Summertown you should go there. (Original) Modestamente si definisce un Artigiano Francese ma è Forno, Pasticceria e Cioccolateria. Ottimo per una colazione francese, molto simile a quella italiana. Sarebbe bello trovare locali italiani all'estero che rispettino il gusto è i sapori italiani così. Il locale è accogliente però solo tre tavolini all'aperto. All'interno solo cinque sgabelli su un bancone. Peccato. Il personale è gentile. I cappuccini buoni quasi "italiani" brioches ottime crema alla vaniglia squisita. Ottima colazione. Prezzi quasi economici rispetto alla qualità. Due brioches una con uvetta l'altra con crema 9,20 Sterline. Se siete a Summertown doveroso andarci.
