The Cake Shop Oxford made the cake for our wedding back in June 2022 and it was absolutely perfect! We knew the taste would be incredible as we've been eating their products for years (mostly the bags of cake off-cuts they do from when we were poor students!), and we were not disappointed - we had four tiers with different flavours for each! They worked with us to create an incredibly personalised and extremely detailed design, right down to the bride and groom figures on top (they got us to send through pictures of our actual outfits for the wedding so that they could replicate these and so many of our guests commented on how special this was!). After the wedding I was able to preserve a few of the sugar paste decorations from the cake (see picture below) as they were too beautiful to not keep, and we now have them as a very special memory. Price-wise, I also found them to be very good value compared to other quotes I received. Thank you so much again - we still have two slices in our freezer that we're saving for a special occasion!

We knew we wanted our cake from The Cake Shop as we had previously had an amazing 60th birthday cake from them. We had a meeting with them to discuss the particulars of what we wanted, where they gave great advice about sizes, type of cake and decorations etc. We had the most beautiful sugar flowers made. They had never made alstroemeria flowers before, so they trialled it and kept us up to date with its progress. The flowers were so lifelike, our florist was comparing the real flowers to them as it was so impressive. All our guests loved the cake and eating it too! Thank you!

David the owner also ready to accommodate any kind of cake orders placed & his staff are very helpful & skilled & talk to customers through the orders to enhance the cakes order. Ordered a cake from The Oxford Cake shop for my son’s baptism day and I was blown away by both the look and the taste of the cake. Nearly all of my guests commented and everyone was in agreement that they had never seen nor tasted anything quite like it. Will definitely be using them again and recommending them to all. The decorations are very cute on the small cakes but it terms of taste, it isn't great (extremely sugary because of the layers of fondant and a fruit cake is inside which I personally am not a fan of). More appealing visually than anything else, but wouldn't recommend the tiny show cakes for their flavours. Specially made cakes or those with a sponge may be tastier.

We were looking for a 'Thank you' gift for our daughter who was looking after the dog while we were away. Saw the beautiful cakes in the shop window, including small, individually decorated cakes with personal messages on them so went in, chose an iced sponge cake and asked for a personal message. We've had several custom-made cakes produced by The Cake Shop - for a wedding, for birthdays, for a corporate event - and have always been impressed by their ability to turn our ideas into confectionery! They've always been happy for us to try samples of the cake and cream fillings that they're proposing for a given design and to explain to us what they can and can't do within the limitations of icing (and how they might work around them!). Much of their work is showcased in their window (which seems to have a perpetual throng of tourists) and their website so you get every opportunity to judge for yourself how these imaginative cakesmiths can make your party extra-special.

I ordered a red velvet cake with a few words on it. They were really helpful with suggestions to improve the finish and make the cake 10x better than I had pictures in my head. You can also see them baking and adding the final touches through the shop window. They also have loads of pre-made cakes to take away. Every time I go nearby there are loads of people looking in through the windows as the staff working.

The cakes in the window of The Cake Shop are consistently amazing! I walk by to check out the most recent creations on every trip to Oxford and they never disappoint. I also had a cake made for a celebration once and was very pleased with the result! And they sell adorable tiny cakes that are the perfect gift for Mothers Day or other holidays.

Really happy with service we received for our wedding day. Beautifully made cake with amusingly lifelike figures and all carefully delivered for a small fee. Be under no illusion that they are rather pricey but you get exactly what you pay for. It was one of the talking points of the evening
