Been to Helen's Bakehouse in Burton Marketplace twice with my partner and we had full English breakfast. The food was excellent. They also have a wonderful selection of fresh cakes, a lovely environment, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The staff were lovley, food was so lovely and so reasonably priced! My mum and i shared a doorstop sausage and bacon sandwich and 2 crossaints and all was super! There is treats to take away too which is a lovely idea!
We will be returning for more soon!

Great Eccles Cakes but overall I found that the tearoom felt a little 'dated'. Popular with a more senior clientele. Inside and market square seating and reasonable prices.

We go there most weeks and we are spoilt for choice with the specials menu. The food never disappoints and the service is excellent and very friendly. We can recommend their birthday and Christmas cakes.

Me and my mum called in here for a coffee and a bacon sandwich it was lovely. The service was excellent the staff were very friendly. They have a good selection of homemade jams and marmalades we had a jar of grapefruit marmalade which my mum said is delicious. This is definitely our go to cafe when we come to Burton.

Found this tea house on the off chance after going to 2 cafes that online said they catered for gluten free but when got there the gluten choice was just bacon and beans. I popped in to ask if they had any gluten free bread at all and they did so my friend went inside. Once seated my friend spotted they did American pancakes with fruit and syrup i asked if they did a gluten free version of this and to our delight was told they make the pancakes fresh and she had gluten free flour so yes they could.I had a doorstop sausage sandwich and both my friend and I were impressed with the food , quality the freshness but overall the staffvrry polite and it was lovely to see they buy local produce to cook. We also noticed how alkt of the customers are daily regulars and treated the staff as friends

I had the best experience at this amazing little bakehouse. The food is freshly made and everything is made on site which is a breath of fresh air. The staff are lovely and patient and kind and really seem to be enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend this as somewhere for a meal out, somewhere to take friends and family and somewhere to just sit in comfort with a pit of tea and cake, and watch the world go by.

Visited Friday morning with my husband Phil. We both had Apple and raspberry pie with custard. Absolutely beautiful, lightest pastry, full of fruit. Tea and coffee excellent as always. Lovely team in there too.

Delightfully nice food from breakfast through lunch to afternoon teas, and roast lunches Sundays. Very good service, no long waits, ever. Nice friendly place, offering a totally delicious range of delicious cakes, including anniversary cakes made to order!

Great to ask for a large coffee and it comes in a flaggon sized mug - perfect!
Had the scrambled eggs and salmon, Mrs P had Cheese on Toast.
Both were very good and filling. Great service and the all the ingredients have local provenance, Lichfield, Swadlincote and other local suppliers.
The cafe is now also open on Sundays according to the menu.
Based at the heart of Burton high street. Please do cone and enjoy, is busy but will book the table for you.

Been a few times and it was lovely unfortunately not this time. Ordered a sausage roll and it was really greesy. The staff replaced it but the same again. We also had a scone which was difficult to eat because it fell apart when we cut it open. Not a very happy visit this time...

(Translated) I remember once discovering these cafes with a friend. It was raining outside the window, the city seemed to be sad. But Helen's pink walls invited us with their grandma's atmosphere. Beautiful smell of coffee, carrot cake, it was wonderful to think that we found a place where you can talk in peace. A friend reported a dirty tea pot. And the nice lady showed that each one looks the same and it is a vintage style. We remember this sentence terribly. Because we have never met before to attribute a chipped, stained vessel to style. But we took note of it with a smile on our face. I still think that it is a lovely, nice place, although I try not to think what is under the clothes of porcelain teapots :)

Koleżanka zgłosiła brudny imbryk do herbaty. A miła Pani pokazała,ze każdy jeden wygląda tak samo i jest to vintage styl. Strasznie nam to zdanie zapadło w pamięć.
