We chose Emily at bloomingoodbakes to make our chosen wedding cake. The moment we chatted to Emily we could already get a sense of her knowledge for celebration cakes and looking at her portfolio I could see she was skilled and meticulous with her work. The most important things for me was taste. I had seen many cakes that were beautifully ornate but when I came to taste them they were often dry and not too enjoyable to eat. As we were going for carrot cake on the bottom tier the taste and freshness was my absolute priority. Emily invited myself and my partner for a tasting session and it was pleasure to meet up with her face to face. She was flexible with our needs and wants and throughout everything she was truly respectful in the fact that it was our cake for our special day! Her suggestions such as a ribbon around the cake down to the shape and size were on point. We had a Victoria sponge on the top tier which I initially thought it would be just a typical sponge but it jammiest moist Victoria sponge cake I’ve ever tried!! I also I have to mention how amazing Emily’s fondant work is!!! We asked if we could have mini figurines of the wedding couple on the top and she granted our wishes. I, as well as guests, were surprised at the detail right down to my veil and my bouquet-it was the talk of the wedding. I would certainly recommend bloomingoodcakes for wedding or any other occasion!!
