Reviews of GAIL's Bakery Woking

Tl:dr; food was top notch. Coffee was average, nice vibe and friendly staff.
I visited Gail’s recently with my friend. I loved the open/light feel of the store - it’s got high ceilings which make it feel even more open and welcoming.
There was a huge selection of goodies available on the counter, so we shared three - a cheese straw, a sausage roll (with tomato relish) and a cinnamon pecan crumble cake. We also each had a latte.
I would highly recommend the cheese straw and the sausage roll - both were super flavoursome. The pecan cake was nice too but a little dry - I think something like an apple compote inside it would have helped. The flavour and the crumble on top was delicious.
The coffee was average, certainly not bad but lacking in its flavour profile.
The staff were super helpful and very patient with us standing there for a good 5 minutes deliberating over all of the bakery choices!
Thank you - I’ll be back 😁

I'm a regular visitor to Gail's usually to buy lunch items. They have very good savoury takeaway options as long as you don't arrive too late. I'm sometimes a little underwhelmed by their sweet items, although this varies depending on what is ordered. So a little hit and miss. Today I visited for breakfast to eat in. I like the tables by the window overlooking the square. The staff are always friendly and pleasant. No porridge available but it is summertime. I really enjoyed the (rather extensive) breakfast that I ordered. Carb recovery after a long day of cycling in the Surrey Hills yesterday. The flat white with Oat milk was very good. Its a drink that regularly underwhelms in a lot of coffee places, the barista seemingly unable to make the drink. Well done Gail's for adding something new to Woking's range of eating establishments.

Bread is excellent and the coffee one of the best I’ve tried. The staff is great they always happy to help.
Only issue is they only have one savoury vegan option and usually they run out of the only sweet option

Wonderful place that brightens Woking town centre. Gail’s team is always friendly, helpful and supernice to customers. I absolutely love their heart for local community and passion for reducing food waste: they not only serve us great coffee and delicious breads & cakes; their surplus is donated to local Community Fridge and spared from landfil. What’s not to love?

Gail's has become a favourite of ours. We enjoy the dark hot chocolate and I particularly like that the tea is served in a big pot :), especially when it's paired with a cinnamon bun - sadly the buns are so popular they're often gone by the time I get there :( so I order ahead when I remember. Please could you make a few more? My partner says the coffee / iced lattes are good too. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. There's plenty of room to sit inside, especially upstairs. Sitting outside would be even nicer if woking council had thought through their plans for the square e.g. a few more trees, water fountain for kids to splash in and screening with plants along Victoria Way and the high street. Nice one Gail's!

It’s situated in the corner with easy access from the inside as well as the outside of the main Victoria Place, a residential as well as an indoor retail & leisure destination.
Some of the staff are still learning unaware of what the Bakery offer, while other are warm and friendly.
The biggest disappointment is that a lot thé inside space is wasted and not utilised properly for more seating spaces.
But the cakes and food was spot on.
I am happy that they opened here and hope they stay to add more variety to mix.

Love the service here, the quality of the coffee and the food. The staff are generous, kind and attentive. The interior of the cafe is delightful. So glad we have a Gail’s in Woking now ♥️

Just started coming here for the family's weekly bread. The food is great like any other Gail's but the friendly staff really stands out. Great store

A very spacious modern cafe with upstairs and outdoor seating, lots of light in a sun trap location . Quality coffee and an excellent selection of sourdough breads and other treats. There is a cold selection of deli and nutritious salads too. There are very few good coffee shops in Woking town centre, let alone a place to buy proper bread and bakery. I am very pleased Gail's has come to Woking!

Nice place liked the juice and outside seating inside needs to have tables cleaned as i found it quite if and miss the twice ive been. Quiches have far to much mustard in them for my liking so next time i go want to try something easier on my stomach

First visit to Gail's since I went to the original in Clapham. Excellent bread , pastries and coffee. Cheerful friendly staff.

Nice food but personally I find it a bit expensive for what you get.

It's beautiful and spacious, but the lack of vegan options when it comes to pastries is very saddening, and their loaves of bread are extremely overcooked, the crust is thick and dark brown almost black, impossible to cut without making a ridiculous mess of crumbs and hard to eat too :/ shame (I'm French, I know my bread 😂) , it's got great potential but so far it's not living up to it's expectations

5 star and I can only sing praises
