Reviews of Bank
R. G.
Northern line closure in 2022.
The closure will be in place from 15 January to mid-May 2022.
During these works TFL will connect the newly built southbound tunnel to the existing Northern line on either side of the station. Work during the closure includes:
Removing track and services on the existing southbound tunnel in order to fill-in with concrete to complete the new concourse.
Backfilling existing tunnel sections with foam concrete to provide stability
Constructing the final sections of tunnel to connect the new tunnel to the existing infrastructure
Fitting out the new southbound platform
A. G.
Bank station is a bit of a labyrinth! It has several connecting lines including my favourite the DLR!
The tubes on the central line come in at a bit of a screeetch! And the gap between the train and platform is quite large in parts so it’s worth being mindful of that!
Good hand sanitising points set up by entrances/exits.
Unfortunately, it’s one of those stations adding screens on the escalator walls that go in a diagonal which can be a bit vertigo inducing! I hope this doesn’t get rolled out.
J. W. M. B.
This station is a bit more like it. Busy nearly all the time, hot as hell, sweaty and smelly. If you're looking for an authentic London travel experience drop by between 17:30-19:30 and soak up the atmosphere. Literally.
M. F.
As you exit Bank Underground station at Bank one is awestruck by the amazing architecture that meets the eye. You are made instantly aware that you are indeed in the City of London. It's a walk through history in the bustling here and now. There is so much to see and do. Many return visits will be needed and then I doubt if I will have but scratched the surface of this wonderful City.
C. C. R.
Big interchange station between the DLR and the Tube, its obviously extremely busy at most times and also with the upgrade works going on, some trains can be delayed. But other then that its a good station, alot going on with clear signs, it also connects up with Monument station on the District.
s.
Bank Station, near Bank of England, Royal Exchange, places so famous and yet misterios.
M. E. H.
One of the busiest station in the London, very busy and fastest service but TFL should put some attendant in every platform because half of the people are tourists here they need assistance.
N. B.
Very busy Tube Station in the heart of the City of London ( which is not part of LONDON itself ) in the Financial District . A stone's throw from the Bank of England and the Stock Exchange
P. N.
Good station for commuting between the City of London. Especially for Lewisham, Ealing and Ruislip and also Morden. But Bank is a labyrinth of a station, to get from there to Monument (on Circle and District lines) which is interconnected with it, if you are at Central line platforms, you must walk through the area that takes you to Northern and Waterloo & City lines and go down the escalators, through the terminus DLR platform and then up another escalator and then some steps. Can be busy during rush hour in the morning and evening so best to commute through there while everyone is at work.
J. N.
Been here loads of times as a Bank Letter Courier many years ago when I was younger. Nice sunny afternoon but staff only allowed into the Bank at the moment re Covid on Tues 24 08 21.
N. S.
Big and often crowded (even after Covid), this station can be confusing if you haven't used it before. However, it is one of the most convenient stations for the City. It connects directly with Monument Station, which can be handy especially in the rain.
R. T.
Huge station! i like this 😎
M. L.
bank holiday monday .was ok and i had a medium size suit case .very deep underground 2 escalators
P. A. V.
Regular service. Fairly tidy station. Quiet busy.
G. M.
It’s a shame that Bank is one of London’s busiest stations, because it really doesn’t put the work in. It’s not cool and it doesn’t have history. It’s just convenient, which is what capitalism is all about, so they say. There are far better stations elsewhere. Give them a chance and maybe Bank will try harder.
r. l.
I love this area with the historic buildings and the cool atmosphare of it, you can get by feet to all of the main spots like st. Paul, Liverpool train station and some of Londond bridges and there are many hiddwn places tgere to have brunch or drink.
just dont forget your umbrella ;)
R. W.
Bank is one of the very busiest tube stations but unfortunately it’s handicapped by being a veritable maze - even the most experienced Viet Cong tunnel engineer would be absolutely bewildered by the number of exits and routes to platforms. You’ll find two types of people here: the fast moving commuters who absolutely know where they’re going (don’t get in their way) and the stationary bamboozled tourists looking for the King William Street exit. Visit in rush hour to join in the fun.
C. T.
It's a bank, what else is there to say. The museum is closed sadly
J. F.
Very nice place. Enjoy yourself and take care
K. K.
Allow yourself additional time to transfer if you have to change here. Not the only London station that functions better as a museum than as an actual transport hub, but yeah, it's one of those. I do enjoy changing here when I have a lot of time to kill, otherwise it's a pain. Had to walk hundreds of stairs last time, no lift, no escalator. Fun times.
S. I.
Bank of England is beautiful building. But during the pandemic it is like a dessert, no the usual crowd.
K. I.
4 stars go to the TFL team who brighten up my day every single time. Especially the gentleman with blue eyes in his 40's who is always very helpful and happy. He helps at the DLR platform. Everyone is amazing and always looking after safety.
Sorry it is only 4 stars but I don;t like to be sent to monument as it is a long walk and I always am late to work when it happens. I hope the works are going to be finished soon and platforms will get less overcrowded.
R. G.
With out a doubt one of the busiest tube stations in London and often in rush hour there a queues that back up for miles. However, it's central and it has many tube lines which makes it great for getting around.
I.
It is a good station but between Bank and Monument stations takes like 5-10 mins walk if you want to change lines and I wish they putted escalators instead of stairs where you keep on going up and down like a subway.
W.
This place is a must in terms of street photography in London !
L. H.
Bank station needs a good clean. It is one of the grubby stations in the City of London and could easily be improved. Circle & District plus Central Line all use this important station.
T. G.
The Bank Station subway is an absolute lifesaver on my walk to/from work. It saves me crossing the street in 3 different places and is safer and more efficient than trying to navigate the horrible crossings above ground. VERY crowded during peak morning commute times, but still manageable.
W. T.
Not so busy station..
A. W.
Bank station is nice but is too busy during rush hour
D. M.
Whilst it offers good connections with various tube lines as well as the DLR, it can be very annoying just to walk from line to line what with the lack of travelators which I think would be much needed. It can also get quite hot and stuffy in the walkways, even during the winter.
A. S. T.
Bank Station is a rabbit Warren on tunnels going to the different tube lines and DLR if you are not used to the London underground Station you can easily get lost in this maze of walk ways
H. H.
Love the station. It's so well connected. It can be a bit of a maze but the best thing is that it's always full of people - even late at night. And it's the best connection to Waterloo. Gets you from Bank to waterloo in about 5 mins. There are few little shops here and there in the platforms in case you are thirsty (think rush hour)!
L. M.
Very important station chokepoint, trains come and go very often. However it's horribly designed... a maze with tight spaces everywhere, no proper maps, always way too many people, one of the worst points for rush hours, very filthy, but at least one or two crummy shops to buy something. It would help if they put some advertisements to gather money and make it larger. Better built, stop with the spaghetti maze please, everyone gets confused. Make it SIMPLE. There's something like 6 exits just labeled A B C D E F with street names... do they honestly think we know which street is which? If we knew the street names in the local area, then that means we don't need directions!!!! They should put proper maps around. So that people can compare to their google map/gps whatever. Oh and of course beggars are rampant. Depressing.
D. S.
This is a great transport interchange between the tube, DLR and the bus. Very busy at peak times. But, useful for going to unusual places in London.
M. S.
Well lit, clean, doesn't smell of pee and hobos. I was very confused that it's also called Monument depending on where you go on - here it's Bank, there it's Monument, I feel like a need a freaking PhD to just navigate the tube system. Some guy was playing the riff from Sweet Child o Mine so I gave him 50p.
C. H.
An Iconic landmark in London that one must visit. It is considered the heart of the financial part of town, with the Bank of England. Plenty of great architecture to see and photograph and places to go with access to the tube.
Y. K.
Beutiful city London early morning
G. M.
Great station, easy access to Central London, see you soon guy's and stay safe.
M. W.
It’s messy hot and convoluted but i love it
G. M.
Northern line platform is very gritty
A. M.
Regular station. Clean neat. 1-2 benches. No garbage bins. Wi-fi available. At around 5 in the evening is becoming extremely busy.
M. C.
A muddling laybrinth. Good for some swaps but some changes take an age.
T. A.
Extremely busy & overcrowded underground station that has approachable & helpful staff with a fantastic direct link on the central line to Waterloo.
H. s. H.
One of the biggest stations but little confusing if using first time!
L. P.
Transfers may involve a lot of walking and sometimes very hot and busy. There are good connections here though and it is in a good location for the City.
N. I.
A historical station with many lines
L.
Right at the heart of London’s banking district. Station does get vey busy during rush hour times.
B. D.
Very nice place/location. Short walk to the Thames. Very crowded during rush hour

This is a view from the number 9 bus with the Christmas tree at the Bank of England yard.
A. M.
10/10. If you like running around like a hamster in a maze, and having signs lie to you on your destination, this is the place for you. Recommended.
M. D.
This is my 3rd favourite station of all time. I especially like how is also sounds like somewhere you can keep money!
T. J. G. (.
Step into the other world of london old financial district
M. T.
Fun fact is you can walk between this station and Monument station from inside walkways
C. H.
One of my favourite spots in London. It oozes out history.
R. E.
Exits should be more clearly labelled, need to synchronise the signs throughout the station - exits etc.
E.
Exelont staion but nothing hill to bank is better Because . it has the bestest line of all the. DLR
M. H.
It's by Bank, so three stars. It's not like we have any choice. I tried Hampstead, but it's too far away. What actually are we rating here.... ;)
M. O. R.
This station is located at a very prime location of London. It is sometimes too busy.
G. T.
It's a station! I'm so happy they put 'station' in the name, in case someone might think it's a flower kiosk
R. d. S.
A great place to visit as a tourist but really troublesome to travel when enroute to a scheduled appointment/work.
B. D.

T. W.
Very busy, very big station in central London
K. Y.
I dislike how this station is always just so insanely crowded during rush hours and people move so slowly up the escalators.
R. M.
Lovely old station woven neatly into the city.

(Translated) The Bank station is formally united with the Monument station of the London underground, called Bank and Monument: the distinguished names are kept at the entrances, on the tracks and on the maps. Together they form the seventh busiest station in the entire network.
The Bank station takes its name from the Bank of England and is part of the Travelcard zone 1. They stop here the Central Line, the Northern Line, the Waterloo & City Line, Docklands Light, Railway, respectively the red, black, light green and even the last lines, which although part of the integrated public transport of the city travels on separate tracks . Only the tunnel where the DLR trains stop is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
There are some shops and food outlets. A free Wi-Fi network has been launched that allows all travelers to navigate.

(Translated) The first station, called Bank, was opened on February 25, 1900, along with a branch from Borough to Murgate. And the King William Street station, which was the final station, was closed. The station was intended for a place on the corner of Lobmard Street, where the church of St. Mary Vulnos of the XVIII century stood.

(Translated) It is a metro station of the Ciy of London very well connected with the black line (Northen Line), the red line (Central Line) and the light blue line (DLR Dockland Light Railway), the latter are autonomous trains without a driver. It has a very curious tradition and it is that on bank rest days, this station remains closed. So on Sundays and Bank Days it is closed to the public.

(Translated) Perhaps the worst season I have ever been on. You can have as an excuse the large number of lines that you put together, but still I think it is quite improvable, especially the organization. Long way from one line to another, many people through corridors that are not wide enough and not as well marked as it should be.
