Like others it seems I set-up a Raisin account and was ready to transfer a considerable amount of money but from the Raisin side the progress was so slow (almost 2-weeks without reply to even a simple email questioning what was taking so long) that I moved the money back to where it came from and cancelled the application. Update - Small compensation payment received thank you Raisin UK so rating improved.

In principle, Raisin is a good idea. It provides a competitive marketplace for savings, with rates that are, from time to time, slightly better than can be found elsewhere. The draw back is that the whole operation of Raisin is slow compared with the operation of most traditional deposit account. You are required to transfer money to them by Faster Payments, which means it arrives immediately. However it can take a day before it shows up In your Raisin Holding Account. Then you have to transfer to your chosen deposit taker. That can take another day or two. Also, funds managed by Raisin can Mysteriously disappear for short periods. I recently transferred money to Raisin to top up an easy access account. Once it showed up in my Raisin Account I requested a transfer to the easy access account, with the deposit request verified by text message. Currently the funds don’t show up anywhere - neither in the easy access account, pending transfer or even in the total savings amount. I guess it will show up in the next day or two, but the point is, surely account balances shown should always total all the money Raisin manages or holds at any given time. In summary, good concept, some good rates, but technology & systems could be improved.

Very positive experience with Raisin so far. The process is quite straightforward and I’ve now opened 3 savings accounts via Raisin. Setting up my account was straight forward but I made a mistake that I transferred money from my wifes account instead of my own and it seemed to take a while to be credited but as Raisin UK realised this mistake and refused to take the transfer and the money was returned,I the proceeded to transfer from my account and I have not looked back. the rates they offer are much better than the high street banks and this makes you think as well.

What a lovely service and pleasant team. We transferred our current savings pot and earned a £100 bonus. It took a few days for the account to open and there was a delay in their team coming back to us as we needed to provide further details. However, once they did everything ran smoothly - recommend if your current savings are stuck with little interest.
