Food was amazing and reasonably priced, only downside was it was very busy otherwise would have been 5 star's.

The food was great, very busy on Sunday. We understand that it can be stressful for staff, however the white haired chef with a Southern accent remarked "crikey Sash! It looks like a bunch of wild pigs has run through here!" When he was sorting out the veg. I thought it was a nasty thing to say about customers and he said it loudly. Everyone in the queue heard and a few people including ourselves didn't like that remark even though we hadn't had our turn yet.

Sunday 6th Feb 1:10pm booking for Gallon. Fantastic service, our server was enthusiastic and cheerful. The food was fresh hot and tasty. At the carvery two elderly ladies using walking frames couldn’t plate their food and the chefs straight away plated their entire meal up, and helped deliver it to the table. It was great to see such kind service without the need to ask. The staff worked as a team and we’re happy. It’s rare to find a venue where staff engagement is so good. Hope the management recognise and reward the hard work. We will certainly return and recommend.

I quite like it here. Simple straight forward food with a little twist. You can buy what they offer on their menu anywhere but it's not the same. The Gamon is to die for and the rest is pretty good too. I will never get bored of this place, as long as the keep up the good work.

Lovely friendly place to eat. Noticed that the staff worked particularly well as a team and appeared to be enjoying their work . Food was very enjoyable too. Huge Yorkshire puddings and lovely roast potatoes. Meat was very tender. Thank you.
C. S.
Visited here on an evening with my sister and the children, we all had a carvery was really nice especially the gammon although i prefer the beef i tried sonething different and was lovely.... the staff were fab especially Jamie I think his name were it was his first night working was a little nervous but he totally smashed it. The two girls helping him and showing him the ropes too thankyou for making our visit a relaxing one.

Lovely pub. Nice atmosphere, but the carvary wasn't as nice as other Tobys we've been to, the roast potatoes were over cooked and hard, and not as much veg on offer as others we've been to. The extra portion of pigs in blankets wasn't worth the money. They were awful. Cheap, over cooked, and tasted like cocktail sausages, we've definitely had better . But will try again.

Not visited Toby Carvery since well before lockdown but it did not disappoint today. Meat was beautiful, veg was fresh and the service spot on. Know other Toby’s can be hit and miss but Kenton is always consistently good.

Went to an Easter party over the weekend and it was great for the kids. Lots to do for them. My sons really enjoyed themselves. Thank you to steph and her team it was a great day.
E. B.
Pleasant environment, staff friendly, we ate at about 2.30ish, downside of eating at that time was the veg was dried from being left under the heaters. Only thing that spoiled the visit. I am sure if we had gone at a different time we wouldn't have experienced this.
M. T.
I thought the meal was very good, my partner was not impressed by the beef.... apparently there were some other customers on this evening who said the same thing.
The gammon and turkey were very good
D. S.
Food was excellent. Nice and hot, loads of variety at the carvery. Staff were attentive and were working really hard. Will definitely return.
J. P.
Chef messed up the order mixing up mine and my partners orders for our wrap/bap, the fillings had to be swapped back which made the meal unappetising and cold. However very good service from the waitress Nadia very apologetic with free desserts and 20% off, only reason this isn't a 1 star.
S. B.
You used to get more meat but still nice. Got a good selection of vegetables. Roastys really tasty. Not too bad a meal for the price.

Very nice resturant allocated close to hotels.
We were only limited for breakfast visits, because the resturant does not offer halal meat or chicken optioins and just vegetarian wont serve for us all.
Breakfast menu is diverse but we tried hash browns, fried eggs (no scrambled eggs), beans, toasts, butter and jam.
Basic self-served tea and coffee. There was no vegetarian sausaga as mentioned in their menu.
Very welcoming staff.
We visited multiple times and in our first visit the member who served charged us for just under 2years old son.

Second time in two days at a Toby with the family for dad's birthday different restaurant but same experience we just love roast dinners but must find an alternative carvery resaurant again food not to temperature arrived at 5.45pm so quite busy you would expect the vegetable and potato to be turned over regularly maybe they aren't hot enough comming out the kitchen and regular temperatures taken. Good value for money if it was hotter also liked the new tappa's style snack portions 2 for £4.99 great idea if you just turned up for a beer and felt like a snack oh and the coffee was bean to cup so much better than the day before
K. L.
Breakfast was enjoyable, very busy today as it's Friday and not enough staff.
Main disappointment was the coffee, advertised as Lavatzza yet that is not what they served. I could quite clearly see the member of staff filling the coffee pot from sachets of instant Nescafe. I'm disappointed that at £2.49 a cup they didn't even attempt to cover the Lavatzza signage! So other than a big queue and the coffee it was just ok!
v. w.
Fantastic food. Emma was the person who served us, she was lovely. Very friendly to all the customers. A credit to the company.

Came with the kids on good Friday for the Easter party. Kids really enjoyed themselves and it was a fab morning, party games, crafts and lots of other activities. Thanks Steph and team.
l. r.
came around 5pm ,,30th may,was with daughter , very dissapointed the meal was warm the cauliflower was cold and the gravy was warm ,,we were told to get more veg iff we wanted it ,we didnt , we have been here dozens of times what on earth happened today
T. E.
Tracey are restaurant/bar assistant was absolutely top class she helped us choice pudding of which we weren’t going to have then another drink to chill fabulous member of staff
A. R.
Had a carvery on this visit just before Christmas hence the decorations, couldn't fault the food veg was fresh & tasty the gammon, turkey & beef were really nice. We were served by Sam who was very polite & a credit to the Toby. Overall we had a good time the only down side to the visit was we ate to much & had no room left for pudding 😁
M. f.
Nice staff good food but 1 man cutting meat with a massive que waited in line for 25 minutes
P. B.
Amazing carvery, great choice of meat and veg to choose from. It is great for vegetarians, even if you think its all about the meat it's not there is a fantastic variety. There is a full menu if you don't fancy the carvery, with some geart options too. Big car park with disabled parking and access to the pub. Great kida menu to choose from aswell, really lovely place with friendly staff who are more than happy to help.
S. M.
Always a good place to have the classic Sunday dinner. The staff are always friendly and the food is always nice.
K. F.
Every time I go the staff are friendly and the food is delicious. What more can you ask for? Well priced? Well you've got that too. Thanks to the staff for always being welcoming!
D. R.
Could not fault my visit to our local Toby! It’s a family favourite for us. Visited today with my two sisters and was greeted by a lovely cheery chap and the great service continued throughout my whole visit! The carver was a lovely young woman with great manners and people skills. The food was exceptional as always. Yorkshire pudding cooked just the way I like them, veg delicious and fresh and potatoes to die for! 11/10 from me and my sisters! Thank you to all team working at Toby Carvery today for making what was a terrible day for us that little bit brighter😁
D. K.
Ate Carvery here last night then breakfast this morning. Both meals were 10/10. Friendly staff, and great food, at a very reasonable cost. Will definitely eat here again.
C. S.
A beautiful meal for my daughters birthday. Fab hosting from Callum, beautiful food from John and amazing service from Nadia. What more can you ask for. Keep up the good work guys xx
J. T.
Went out for a meal at the Toby Carvery Kenton Bank. As always the staff and waitress apologised for our delay. We were fine about it as sometimes this happens no matter where you dine out. The waitresses are always friendly and polite and always smiling, very talkative too. Notice the Chef was also excellent and rushed off his feet, but was very polite and apologised for any delay.
Excellent service with meal and dessert.

Decided to eat here following Rugby on Saturday 26th February 2022.
We stood at the desk where requested to wait for a table for 5 minutes despite staff in the far corner seeing us and a member of the bar staff passing us we were ignored.
A lady eventually came and took us to a table and asked if either of us had allergies which I replied" yes I have coeliac disease and require a gluten free meal " we never saw her again!
A young girl came to serve us and we ordered drinks of wine and sparkling water,3 minutes she was back as she could not remember what wine we had ordered, when she arrived back we said we would like the carvery but could I ask if the gravy was gluten free she did ask if I needed to know for which I replied yes.
She returned with a tablet giving it to me and also informing me "I don't really know how to use this between us we checked on the gravy but by now I had lost confidence in anyone knowing what they were doing.
I went up for my meal and the chef carving the meat was a young girl,I asked for Turkey and beef and it soon became very apparent that she could not carve slices as she was putting on My plate the bits of meat that had fallen off the turkey and beef and not slices, the plate was given to me with these bits on and asking if that was alright for which I replied no I would like some more of both meats for which she tried to carve a slice and could not so got more bits.
By then I gave up got my potatoes and veg +gravy and I would like to say the meal was hot and tasty.
I would like to add that when you are on a special diet for a medical condition yes the responsibility is with me but also on the staff preparing and serving meals and at least somebody having some knowledge of food intolerance.
K. P.
Stef was fantastic and accommodating, Toby is classic and you get what you pay for. Nice environment and lovely staff.
J. H.
This visit fell well below my expectations. I was waiting patiently to get served at the bar, I must have seemed invisible to the staff as at least 3 people were served ahead of me. I piped up and got served eventually. Went to get breakfast, and had to remove 2 dirty plates from the plate pile, the plates are normally warm, but this morning they were clay cold. The food was OK, not piping hot as usual, but more look warm. The fried eggs looked like they had been on top of the hot plate for some considerable time, resulting in the yokes being hard. Certainly not their best performance.
P. L.
On Friday the 18th of February me and my mum had a lovely time at there coffee morning enjoyed a lovey cake and a nice cup of tea while participating in the tombola and won a lovely bottle of wine and knowing the money was going to an amazing cause if you care charity and Steph did an amazing job at hosting.
M. S.
Pleasant quiet few hours to ourselves with a couple of lagers and a snack. Going to have a Carvery dinner another time. Been too long since had one
M. K.
The food was amazing as usual, price is reasonable and the staff are very attentive. Our waitress Nadia was friendly and had some lovely banter with her
C. B.
I have been using this place a lot recently in conjunction with the Too good to go food recycling app. And every time have been impressed with the variety and portion of tasty food with extreme value for money
J. A.
Came today for lunch, was quite busy and we didn't book a table, we were greeted by a lovely young girl (didn't get her name) and she found us a table, the chef sasha was so friendly and was always smiling, food was absolutely fantastic, we were served by a girl called Emma, she was great and was always happy and bubbly, thanks for an amazing lunch 👍
s. c.
There was 3 of us who went for breakfast this morning .
We requested one portion of vegetarian sausages which when we were at the carvery I enquired how to get them . Within seconds they came out in a bowl. I place them on my plate and when I got to my table they were cold and very chewy. I had to get up and speak to a member of staff regarding this issue , the second lot were delivered to table you could say that they had been put into the microwave rather than being freshly cooked . Was disappointing as it was the first time I have ever been to Toby for a breakfast.
The other food items were ok but no signage for decaf coffee either
J. B.
We got a meal and a pudding each which were very nice, with a £10 off voucher for a spend of over £20 came to £12. Cheaper than a take away!!!!
D. M.
Popped in for business lunch. Chefs done themselves proud. Tasty massive yorkies and roasties were delish. Great place and reasonably priced. Win win
R.
A good carvery lots on offer all hot unlike some I've been to
staff very friendly and helpful
not to busy when we arrived seated straight away and drinks brought over straight away I went for a small plate friend went for large very very nice filled us both up
all in all good food great staff highly recommend
s. h.
3 staff chatting at the bar, ignoring us as we stood waiting to be seated, I moved forward and a girl with a foreign accent ( get back over by the door till I seat you).
I felt totally humiliated, she then walked away from us and stood chatting to another member of staff.very disappointed by the rud staff.
Food was good but couldn't eat it because of how they made me feel
B. W.
We called today Sunday 20/03/22 for lunch and it was superb, the restaurant was busy as usual but absolutely no issues with being seated we were extremely well looked after by Lina who was outstanding.
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
O. S.
great food and lovely service. Only reason for not being 5 star is that we all seemed to be crammed into one corner of the building even though it was quiet.
A. M. S.
Been a few times for something to eat and a drink when we are staying at the Travelodge next door, and food has been good and lovely staff
R. M.
But packed had to wait half hour for table not the choices of vegetables that's normally on ,but it was a bank holiday , meat perfect as normal
T. N.
Go a couple of times a week for s pint, seems they run out of food on a regular basis at about the same time every night. My last visit resulted in 3 or 4 members of staff arguing and swearing at each other, I t was very quiet at the time but there is a time and place for it . Unprofessional springs to mind.
a. h.
Not impressed food was nice but barman looked as if he didn't want to be there plus tables out side needed cleaning
M. H. ..
Im very sorry. We never got her name. But if you check my booking and table number. You will see who she is..I hope you do bother to find her .As she was lovely..To me and my family.
M. R.
Really good service and amazing food. Server Emma A was really polite and assisted with everything we needed.

Thank you!
R. M.
I normally like toby carvery but this time not Impressed, range of vegetables not avaible (roast parsnips, beef dripping roast potatoes , plus no!crackling my favourite).
S. F.
Lovely carvery meal & very good price of £7.49. Lovely service from Staff. Thank you
D. l.
Despite being very busy we only had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table.
The food was fresh and very tasty.
J. D.
Beautiful family dinner at The Toby Carvery yesterday, we were served by the lovely Emma. She was very friendly and helpful x
C. b.
Had a lovely meal and staff were great server steph was very good will be back
A. M.
Absolutely fantastic food. The roast lamb was perfect and cooked beautifully. Shame we were opposite the kitchen door that was constantly banging throughout our visit. Maybe something in place to lessen the force it closes with.
B. M.
We arrived at 12 and the carvery looked lovely, staff were welcoming and friendly.
J.
It is what it is really. You don't go here expecting fine dining or an amazing meal, we've been going here for years and I've always found it to be just okay. The service was friendly on this occasion and the food was fine, I had the turkey but my mam had the beef which she said was disgusting and was actually inedible because it was so tough. Just don't expect amazing food and avoid the beef which is always full of gristle and is tough and you'll be fine. A carvery is never my first choice for a meal just like Tobey carveries aren't my first choice for a restaurant, spend a bit more and go down to the Twin Farms down the road for a fresher meal with better quality ingredients. Also, don't go here on a weekend as it's basically double the price of the weekday carvery but you're getting the exact same. Overall, it's just okay.
m. w.
Simple good food and an exceptionally warm welcome from the staff. The Manager who greeted us modelled fantastic customer care!
K. J.
The experience was great here nadia the waitress was really helpful when it came to ordering, the carvery was full of flavours and didn't disapoint
M. R.
Very tasty carvery selection with hearty serving of sides including huge Yorkshire puddings for good price 6£95 National chain with great value!

M. A.
Service next to none, and helped me create a night to remember for my fiancé, if you're gonna go anywhere go here!!
Shout out to Steph, you were amazing and thank you again
M. H.
We had a lovely dinner here last Sunday and Amy our host was most welcoming and polite would highly recommend
T. C.
Fantastic service, amazing food, Emma and Tracey absolutely outstanding customer service.
M. S.
Unfortunately ran out of brown bread, we ended up with pork and stuffing sandwiches on the cheapest sliced white bread we have had for a long time, next door to one of the largest supermarkets in the country and they ran out of bread, and little more effort required and this place could be a lot better.
m. L.
Couldn't fault the service, staff very pleasant. Enjoyed the carvery the turkey and pork were delicious, though the veg could be a little warmer and the condiments such as apple sauce and mint sauce could be regularly topped up. Will definitely be visiting again.
R. H.
One of the best buffet breakfasts I've ever eaten. Proper bacon and quality sausages too! Drinks both hot and cold are extra but they're cheap and you can refill them over and over again. Some food sat a bit too long on the buffet but still totally edible. What more do you want for the cheap price? Clean, cozy and relaxing atmosphere.
W. G.
Very friendly staff that did their best to accommodate our special requirements for our booking and were very understanding throughout. Fast service with the usual amazing quality of food. First time visiting this branch and definitely will be coming back very soon! We were served by Nadia so would be nice if she could be recognised for her amazing customer service.
P. M.
Food was lovely staff were very helpful and altogether a great experience.

Food very nice coffee even better .Down side ... Place could do with a clean .flies around food area, very untidy, Defo needs revamp, lighten up the place and clean decorate food area . Would still return coffee ace staff smiling and polite .

Emma was great always talking to my son. The food was great. I will be back :)

I understand it's a quick turn around but the only thing fresh was the coffee, which was good! The potato cheese and bacon was that dry it was crunchy!
R. W.

A bit underwhelming today, not the usual choice of veg, roasties warm not hot, service good as always. Just not the usual exceptional standard. I would still recommend and return. Decent value for money

Booked a table and we arrived 25min early but the nice lady took us to a table. Was giving plenty of time to order(hate being rushed). Went and got the large carvery everything was cooked nice. My only 2 problems were meat is cut very thin and my pint of carling was flat. Will happily go back again.
P. G.
Great food, fantastic service. Nadia was there whenever we needed anything.
J. L.
I understand it's a quick turn around but the only thing fresh was the coffee, which was good! The potato cheese and bacon was that dry it was crunchy!

Lamb.amazing never seen it on a toby menu before.
This is my new favourite toby.staff fantastic..the chef and carver giving real slices of meat.not wafer thin slices that some tobys are doing.vegies pipping hot and tasty gravy.
Back in again today thursday.hmmm unfortunately not the same standard .thinly sliced meats.im not making a ham sandwich thankyou.and PLEASE please tell the staff the table cleaning solution is not Air fresher. Just had a a mazzive wooft of it as next table was cleaned
A. S.
Nice place for a pint. Steph is fab great banter. 👍
K. V.
The experience was a good one I felt totally safe having had cancer twice last year its been a scarey time to go out it's the second visit to the Toby since I got the all clear. And the food was as usual fantastic. Although can't wait to put my own vegetables on. But that's trivial considering what the world is going through well done Toby carvery 😊
C. B.
Had the roast beef, which was absolutely beautifully cooked. Great big yorkshire pudding, carrots peas roast potatoes, macaroni cheese, which is nice but not for a Sunday, or Saturday lunch, cauliflower cheese which again is nice but not for a roast. They also had cabbage which I didn't try and the gravy was nice too. Today there was the choice between beef and turkey on the carvery £7.99 for the regular, not sure how much for the extra large. Then pudding, mmmmmm, I was the sensible one who choose the 3 pudding sharing, which is not for sharing as its too good to share, the fruit crumble was particularly nice. Will definitely go back. Plenty of parking.
K. B.
Great place first time I've been and I would definitely go back. Food fabulous staff very friendly, good vibes.
M. T.
Lovely place, tasty food and welcoming atmosphere. Warmly recommended
A. Y.
Friendly staff but not enough veg option on the carvery.
G. M.
Nice food, friendly front of house staff.
A few of the chef's need to cheer up and stop huffing and puffing when they are doing a job they are getting paid to do!!!!
Plenty of others out there who would love and be thankful for a full-time job!
p. a.
Had a carvery here was lovely staff polite and friendly 😊😊👍👍👍👍👍

Me and the missus used to go here once every week with her mother and father. We're very happy it is back open so we can now take our daughter now with us. We went very recently and had a fantastic time I like the table service for drinks etc. The staff were very attentive and helpful as usual, the food was on point as always and we even managed to get our usual table.
Fantastic!
G.
First thing we were asked was if we needed an allergy menu. This meant one of the group could choose their meal with the confidence they weren't going to be ill after. Staff were lovely.

Foods always good and staff are very helpful

I've known Toby for lunches, never knew they did a breakfast buffet. It was fantastic value and tasty. Definitely will visit for breakfast again very soon.
R. C.
The food was nice, the Yorkshire puddings could have been better and not water down the batter mix as they was very thin and tasted of cardboard, obviously they didnt season with salt and pepper. Can tell a Yorkshire person didnt make them.
S. S.
Lovely experience lovely lady served us called Nadia very friendly and polite very helpful total experience was great thank you very much
S. N.
Had a very enjoyable meal here. They have some good COVID-19 safety measures in place. You still have to go up to the serving area for your food however it is not "help yourself", instead the chefs serve it for you onto the plate to limit interactions with the utensils. You have to sanitise before you approach and the queue well spaced out. All in all positive! The staff were really helpful!
C. T.
Great service and friendly staff. Food was delicious.
d. q.
What's not to like? Get your roast on and leave feeling ready to burst! Friendly and attentive staff made this a pleasant lunchtime visit.
Walk up and order what you want then go and sit down, it's gravied up then taken to your table.
Quick easy and painless.
K. N.
Poster outside says breakfast 4 89 and shows cup.of coffee
We were charged over £2 each for coffee!!!!

Would have been 5 stars but you could have soled your shoes with the beef. Couldn't even cut it let alone eat it. Everything else fine, Veronica lovely
G. H.
Really enjoyed the carvery today, food was nice and plenty of veg to choose from. Great service as always
Many thanks and see you again soon
J. W.
Fantastic food and service, Emma is a proper legend
R. T.
We had a breakfast here. A little expensive at £14 for two. As much as you can eat which sounds great but you can only eat so much fatty bacon and burned black sausages. Decent enough but not great.
S. D.
We visit Toby regularly and always have positive experience, as we did last night, we booked up with my partners sister and kids along with our 2 kids, as we walked in the system was down and they were having to radio bookings upstairs the staff handled this brilliantly under the stressful circumstances and being very busy with it being a Sunday and working on limited staff.
They still managed to give a friendly attitude towards customers, Lewis and Steph in particular were handling walk ins with a lovely manner, steph in particular was booking guests into metrocenter as Kenton was closing early due to shortage of staff. Staff were so friendly towards the kids which is always nice.
Can't wait to visit again.
D. L.
Dinner was very nice, especially the turkey.Nadia was a great waitress.
M. A.
Mmm.. i am a die hard fan of TC Kenton. But over the years quality going down.. service at the table was good as usual...
I visited Saturday evening. . Hopefully better earlier during the day.
S. R.
Very helpful staff, and a very tasty carvery.
E. G.
Feel like it's much better if you do manage to go on a Sunday as much fresher and better choice of veg but still nice for midweek meals and worth the price. Staff are nice too.
K. M.
I have been to Toby's on numerous occasions and have always had a great meal
D. E.
Food was as you would expect for a Toby Carvery. It was busy tonight, but that was because there was an offer available for 50% off main courses.
R. W.
Really enjoyed the food and service was excellent

One of my favourite places to go, not just for a carvery, for all food, you get what you pay for, well worth the money for the carvery, alot better than the other places with the same type of food, like the one up the road the next to callerton, staff are a hundred times better, better food, feels more cosy, has hotels right next door, great prices, kids menu is far better than there direct competitors up the road from them, basically it's the Toby first, then twin farms, then that other one at callerton, can't remember it's name but it was the hungry horse, but by far I'd recommend the Toby for a meal out and specially the carvery, really family friendly and cosy. My number one carvery place for me to go with my family, there's no substitute for the Toby specially compared to the place next to the airport, no cheap food in the Toby like the other place, well done keep up the good work, even the one in the metro center was where I used to work in was decent, but I have no ties to either of them now, but I still love the Kingston park Toby carvery, keep up the good work!
T. N.
I liked the whole decor and the staff are amazing
R. C.
Nice hot carvery. Good selection of vegetables, 4 meats to choose from. Very friendly and helpful staff.
K. P.
Staff were lovely but all the vegan main dishes were unavailable the evening we went. We are a vegan, 2 veggies and a meat eater and it was a going away meal for our meat eater. We saw there were plenty of veggie and vegan options online so thought it would be OK. But unfortunately they did not have vegan main meals available in reality. The only vegan meal was a plate of veggies which cost only £1.50 less than the huge meat meals. The staff made vegan gravy especially which was kind. They did their best. There was only one veggie meal available also. Ring in advance if you want veggie or vegan food, is my advice.
s. r.
We arrived at 1pm and there was no beef and barely any turkey left. Stuffing was burnt and roast potatoes were terrible. Great staff and service though.
S. C.
Carvery was quite cold and meal had to be microwaved. This was a one off at it is usually well presented and hot.
L. C.
Very busy and queue for carvery was long and slow moving but food was worth the wait. Good amount of choice and portion sizes as much as you can manage! Food absolutely delicious. And staff were lovely and very attentive. Special mention for Zoe who looked after us very well. Well worth a visit 😊
b. b.
Lovely place to dine in, staff are excellent.
C. M.
Great stop off for breakfast, all you can eat. Optional teas and coffees (extra cost) large car park, disabled access. Just off the A1 Kingston Park
L. L.
Despite an initial long wait to be seated when it wasnt busy the food and service was excellent, waitress very polite.
Definitely go back if in the area.
P. C.
Stayed for two nights for family bereavement next door at travel lodge. Duty manager went out of his way to look after us and one member of staff ,Megan, was amazing .Helpful ,hardworking and totally committed to looking after the customers ,a staff member to look after as would be ideal management material .
C. B.
As always, friendly staff lovely food. The only downside this time we visited was having to wait whilst the staff were boxing up take away orders. X
C. P.
Food was lovely staff were lovely only thing that I found was the food could of been hotter
h. c.
The food was definitely on point and the staff were lovely. It was very full when we went yet no food had ran out and they gave you plenty of meat.
Table was a tad messy, but we did end up sitting in the bar area so to be honest I doubt that was the fault of the staff, probably because we sat down before they had the chance to clean up. Definitely recommend for those Sunday dinner lovers, especially going as a midweek treat!
A. G. P.
Nice staff and quick service. Food was good too. Been there a few times and I will probably go back
K. B.
Nice carvery great staff and atmosphere.
K. M.
Fine for what you get for the price for a breakfast.
A. P.
Fantastic all round
Had a surprise birthday party for 13 people. All said the food was fantastic, hot, plentiful, excellent quality and great value. The service from bar staff to waitress to chef was brilliant - friendly and professional and very attentive. Would definitely recommend.
M. F.
Typically pub food, could do with turning there hot plates up ,food was only warm,
D. H.
Needed somewhere quick and easy for breakfast. Great to get to since being right next to the A1. Went in unlimited breakfast and drinks for 2 came to £14. Bargain.
Food was lush, full after a couple of plates and love the fact that they offer Yorkshires and gravy with your breakfast. All in all, mint.
L. M.
I visited on a Sunday so my expectations were already set knowing it would be busy. What I didn't realise was that it would take about 25 minutes of queuing to get our roasts. The chef was generous with the meat portion and overall the meal and staff were fine. Just a little disappointed with wait times, especially because one of our party has mobility issues.
A. W.
Best carvery place I've been to. Staff were on it as soon as we arrived, and were friendly throughout our visit. Food was delicious as always! The decor of the place was spot on, and the room was spacious so looked like it could accommodate even on busy periods!
B. S.
The service is lovely - very friendly and helpful staff. The roasts are amazing (what Toby is famous for after all!). The garlic mushrooms weren't very garlic-ey but still served hot. You know what to expect from the Toby chain and this doesn't disappoint 👍
J. A. H.
Staying at Travelodge Newcastle airport so really handy. Food as expected. Except carrots very hard. Good service and atmosphere. Will go back
D. T.
Food was great as was the price. The jewel in the crown were the staff who were so friendly and welcoming would definitely recommend to everyone
D. T.
Usual fare,carvery was excellent.
Very popular, very busy
J. W.
Good place to eat, drink and meet people. Always a good warming welcome and the food is always great.
D. H.
Lovely carvery. Fantastic fresh food, really tasty.
The bar & restaurant is very spacious and very comfortable.
There is a super bar area as well as the main seating area for food.
They hold a pub quiz every Thursday night.
There is ample parking including disabled spaces.
D. W.
Recently been refurbished and updated to reflect modern tastes. The changes have made little change to service. Still receive a comfortable Sunday lunch seven days of the week. Carvery chef didn't exhibit great customer service but that shouldn't dissuade you from visiting. Hard to judge a visit from one interaction.
L. W.
Meal was beautiful as usual beef was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent nice to be able to go out for a meal again keep up the good work. X
A. b.
Called in for a buffet breakfast. Excellent. Well worth the money. Nice, relaxing atmosphere.
S. S.
If you're really hungry and not too fussy then these carveries are great value. Choice of roast meats, a Yorkshire pud, and then free top ups of a selection of veg and sides. The beef looked a bit fatty but I had Turkey and pork which was well cooked. The service was friendly and welcoming and the pub restaurant reasonably clean and tidy.
P. W.
Service was excellent, friendly & helpful waitress. The veriety of food was good, although. I was unlucky and arrived as the chef was serving the last bit of beef, it was gristly. Usually not that bad if you arrive mid joint. Overall a good carvery.
C. M.
We used to love the carvery as a tradition whenever we visited grandma. It had been about 3 weeks this time and in that time the portions of meat on the carvery reduced dramatically. I will say we had the loveliest waitress, I wish I could still remember her name. She put up with our complaints about the meat and someone complaining about the broccoli being past it's best and offered to bring us a load more (meats). She also checked on one of our party who wasn't feeling well and was genuinely helpful the whole time.
L. G.
Visited today with my wife, the food was exeptional and the service was excellent.
L. C.
We were a party of 14 celebrating a Anniversary and birthday on a Sunday evening. We had a great night the food was hot and tasty. The staff were good and friendly, but what made the night was the waiter called Tom he was brilliant and couldn't do enough to help. I would highly recommend this Toby restaurant.
K. F.
Really good food and friendly staff. Best time to go is when they just open as the food was very fresh!
N. C.
Lovely food as usual and great atmosphere. Only feedback would to be a faster system; the place is huge yet there's only one serving station. My only advice is to not go at midday if you want to be served under 25 mins!
H. K. A.
nice place for cheap food.
they do put butter on all veg tho so our poor daughter who is lactose had a terrible rest of the day due to illness.
this should be advised people do like to know what they are eating for many reasons.
We were also approached by a rather (rude jobs worth) abrupt manager as we stood in the empty room waiting to be seated and due to no one being around we sat down ourselves in view of staff to then have this manager tell us to get up and go wait to be seated he escorted us to the door where we stood and watched him go behind the bar and just stand talking about a night out on the drink with the other staff.
Another 5 minutes later we were took to the table next to where we were previously sat and i asked the lady could we sit where we were before as its a booth with soft seats and i have a bad back so we still ended up in the same place what a waste of time.
Manager was roughly 5 foot 8, male with a stocky build.
P. D.
Average breakfast, it was within the last hour of service but I would still expect a good enough amount of food to be available. We also asked for 2 pints of orange and water and got 2 pints of fresh orange juice, guy who served us seemed to be on Auto pilot. The food that was available was fine just a shame the whole experience was let down by a few sloppy mistakes. Just needs things like this to lose customers
P. K.
All was good. Food was warm. Service was excellent and friendly.
M. S.
Great carvery food all the time. Good staple Sunday dinner choice. Especially during the week the price is very decent for what you get. The only downside is sometimes the tables are not very clean and can be sticky, especially the menus. Also the selection of veg is limited sometimes.
W. B.
The food was OK like the bar
J. Y. 8.
Lovely food I will dif be back for more best Yorkshire puds
P. P.
Great food for a quick meal before airport departure. Have to say the Barman who served us ( think his name was Tom ) was absolutely fantastic, great customer service, professional, yet with good humour... Excellent excellent service... he will go far!. Thanks for a pleasant couple of hours before take off.
A. H.
Food was not hot enough and there was dirty plates and the plates were cold.
A. A.
The place is cosy, I like it a lot and have been coming here on and off for years.
When I asked how we could pay by the app the server took her time to talk us through it. Staff are generally friendly and we were shown a table straight away.
Can't fault the food or drink. All in all a good place to have a Sunday roast.
D. M.
It's a carvery. A pretty good carvery though due to the high turnover so the food is rarely there for long. And it's a great price for a family feed. Not the most exciting beer selection, but being a Toby, that's to be expected. Food was pretty tasty, staff helpful and it's family friendly.
Book though if you can on Sunday or you might have a bit of a wait.
N. H.
Booked our time slot and was greeted by a lovely lady at the entrance , social distancing in place and masks worn by staff and other guests , food was fantastic, really enjoyed my breakfast . Staff lovely , will be back . Thank you .
D. E.
Lovely breakfast..got our money's worth
D. F.
Popped in on our way to Perth from Lincoln. Large, busy restaurant despite C-19. Friendly staff, but slightly disorganised but think that's just because of how busy the restaurant was. Roast was as expected from Toby Carvery, but many items not available on the dessert menu. Clearly popular as many regulars arrived during our time there. If we find ourselves in the area wanting a roast dinner, we'd most likely pop in again.
Q. B.
Great value for money. We have visited at many different times of the day. Busy times still manage to get the queue down reasonably quickly. Staff do care. Food standard is always the same never had a bad meal there particularly like the carvery. Crayons & paper for the kids. Very clean. Easy to get to and with a large car park.
S. A.
Long wait in queue to servery. Miss self service. Waitresses not wearing masks nor observing social distancing. Went home still a bit hungry ..One slice of meat 2 roast potatoes and bit of veg. Wasn't asked if I wanted gravy nor which type and just poured on anyway. Won't be back in a hurry.
O. N.
It's fine but they can't handle the churn of customers. Actually decent quality though if you hit it on a Sunday. Still not anywhere near as good as a proper pub but for a Toby, it's a nice one
C. M.
Perfect place for a quick bite. Love going with my little boy as he doesn't like waiting and here we can go straight up and get food. Food is replaced very quickly and staff are very helpful and friendly. Tables are cleaned regularly and food quality is really good
T. C.
One of the better Toby Carvery chain in the area. Service was friendly if somewhat slow. We had the carvery wraps which were a good deal with the drink. However the Yorkshire pudding wrap could possibly have done with a little extra cooking time. This is one of the cheapest Toby Carvery restaurants in the area!
L. B.
Regular customers at Kenton bank ,as usual the service and food were excellent but please look at the appearance of the empty plates at the serving counter. They are so worn that they appear to have a dirty grey ring towards the edge of the plate and the centres are discoloured with excessive scratching. The investment in a new set of pristine white dinner plates would make the dining experience perfect.
k. h.
Nice venue, we tried the cavery and we were a little disappointed at the meat portion, no onions on this visit. Roast potatoes were very tasty. Booked a table for this visit arrived 15 mins early and asked to wait in the bar and get our drinks . Very busy and a long que to get the cavery but it's a very popular place. just nothing special on this visit for us. Soft Drinks sold as refillable glass but only seen and was directed to one refill machine. Not helpful when sitting in the bar until table ready.
G. W.
Stopped off for breakfast while travelling south on 29th June. Typical Toby style with plentiful hot buffet breakfast choice. Our visit was spoiled by what appeared to be an angry kitchen porter banging down the replacement food containers on the counter. Definitely no charisma or charm. He couldn't even raise a smile. I think other guests had complained to the duty manager, but other than that it was a pleasant experience.
S. D.
Great for the price. Not the best location.
a. t.
Got beef and lamb beef a bit fatty lamb nice if any thing to complain about would say veggies were a bit cold
C. L.
Toby's Newcastle has the biggest Yorkshire puddings I have ever seen. One is enough for anybody.
I spent a very pleasant half hour for lunch here recently and my biggest regret was that we were in such a hurry I couldn't order a larger meal.
The turkey and pork were succulent, and the carvery man rotund and jolly.
It was a really happy & memorable experience.
A. D.
Chain places are all the same for breakfast; the management either makes them amazing or terrible!
This is one of the better ones, the difference being that the hot section is not just dumped on the hot carvery bar and left meaning food items either overcook or run out. Here although not looked after all the time, the fresh hot food supply is kept on top of. Great breakfast, thank you.
J. B.
Hadn't been there in a while. Service was quick although did wait on some brekkie items.
Z. S.
First time in Toby Carvery. Pleasantly surprised. Went as nearest restaurant to hotel, weather was raining. Had slice of Turkey and beef with roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, green beans, broccoli with some of Tobys gravy. Was very enjoyable but eyes to big for my stomach. Couldn't eat it all. Not bad price. Think it was £5.99. I could be wrong as I had Few drinks too!!
S. W.
It's a TOBY!!! Sadly 75% of Toby Carvery's have shut down. There is a real possibility that the remaining 25% will close in 2020. The all you can eat cooked breakfast for just 3.99 and the full on carvery for a mere 5.99... what not to like.plus the staff here are the best.
W. F.
Bog standard Toby carvery, unlike the others I visited in lockdown you filled in a sheet to say what you wanted and couldn't go up.
Generaly good but they were a bit mean with the meat.
D. G.
Always get the carvery. Vegetarians shouldn't bother with the sausages as they can't cook them properly, get the veggie pie with a veg carvery. I've not tried the veg burgers yet. Service is always excellent.
K. B.
Great food & service, arrived at 5.30pm with 2 hungry teenagers, the atmosphere was calm & relaxed. Quality & quantity of the food was good & the unlimited yorkshire puddings were huge. Would deffo come back.
J. H.
Good food and attentive staff. Carvery was really tasty and the Eton Mess brilliant.
S.
Mostly perfect, and relatively recently remodeled. The cheap, good tasting "all you can eat" Carvery can satisfy most meat and vegetable lovers alike. Whilst the food is great, some components of the Carvery may run out, temporarily or for the rest of the day.
Generally good service, with occasional hiccups in busier times.
C. A.
It's okay, the thing is there's so much choice around for this sort of carvery style eatery now that Toby are no longer as unique and appealing as they used to be.
We went because they were close by, but the food and pricing is better (or worse) than their closest competitors.
That said the food is usually good, but I think a little over priced for the portion size of meat provided.
N. T.
Food was lovely and the staff very pleasant
M. h. M. T.
Good food. Took the kids and everyone enjoyed, gets a bit busy but to be expected. Kids love the refill so they don't have to ask and they get to pick what they want to eat. Will definitely be calling again.
J. L.
We had the all you can eat breakfast and it was really nice. Yorkshire puddings and gravy were a surprise for breakfast but I had them anyway! Also the potato hash was nice.
S. E.
Great experience, the team were amazing.
H. W.
A standard Toby and as always it gets very busy on a Sunday. If you know.you are going to make a Sunday visit call ahead and book the table first as sitting and waiting can be a pain if you have young children eager to get fed. Food is quick on the refresh so if something does run out in front of you it will o my be a couple of minutes before it's back for you.
S. H.
Sunday lunchtime is VERY busy the queue can take 20 mins or more to get to the counter for your food. We have been at other times and not encountered this problem. However the staff were extremely helpful as my husband uses a wheelchair and I have mobility problems and the helped us greatly.
S. L.
Value for money, excellent quality carvery that does some brilliant offers if you sign up to their mailing list.
Waiting staff and bar staff are the most pleasant bunch you'll find anywhere in Newcastle and makes this a place worth bringing all of the family or a group for a delicious roast dinner!
C. W.
Great food, and staff at real value for money. Excellent Covid safety in place. Well done.
m. m.
Have been many times before and had a great meal. This time the chef serving the food made me wait 10 minutes before serving me as he was cleaning the counter. I was then served with an attitude when I was asked what I wanted. Not sure if I would recommend this Toby to others
D. L.
We visit every couple of months and the service is always high quality. They cater for young children very well and the welcome is always top rate. When busy there is a wait for a table but the staff will try to seat you as soon as possible. We book our table in advance earlier on the day to save waiting too long with having a young child under five years
m. b.
Food was delicious. Best Toby I have been to. Service was very good but lacked smiles. My only complaint would be some of the potatoes were bad/black and in my opinion should never have made it to the oven.
S. A.
Great atmosphere, lovely team and overall a great experience.
A. F.
My wife and I have been many times to the Toby and found the food and service very good. Our visit today was spoilt by a large group sitting near us who were noisy and totally inconsiderate of other patrons. Fortunately they left (noisily) halfway through our meal. We will think seriously about returning here if this is going to become the norm.
J. Y.
always nice. nothing else to say.
d.
Arrived and seated by a friendly waitress just as the carvery was opening.
4 different meats to choose from.
Huge Yorkshire puddings and a large selection of potatoes, veg, gravies and sauces.
Delicious food and well managed place.
G. W.
Large, cosy feeling pub. The staff are quick and plenty of them. Food was spot on and prices are great. The toilets are clean and tidy and when I visited it, it was quiet. The car park is a bit awkward to navigate; you have to go back on yourself to exit so be careful for the zebra crossing. Direct access to the Motorway and big Tesco around the corner.
P. A.
Lovely food, poor service. Really rushed to get your table cleared.
M. W.
Personally i wasnt keen on the carvery. My beef had a lot of fat and gristle in it and the meal wasnt hot enough for my liking. The staff were great and it was very organised.
G. F.
Totally random Tuesday visit for a breakfast and it was fantastic! We've been here before a little later in the morning and it was a bit pants, but it's cheap so it filled a gap. However, on this visit we were there early, everything was super fresh and absolutely brilliant!
S. R.
Met friends for coffee and a sandwich. Decent coffee, although small measures. My Pork, stuffing and apple sauce sandwich tasted lovely and was plenty. Only fault was, there was no apple sauce in any of three pork sarnies.
D. “. a.
Would have be more but had a table being quite mean and making blind jokes to My partner told manager but only got a sorry from him make me feel depressed that someone would be that sick
C. N.
Still the same Toby we went for breakfast noticed that the plates are now smaller food kept under heat lamps only just warm . Think this place is slowly going downhill. Last time we had a carvery food not as good as it used to be.
B. M.
Nice enough food but a RIP off on drinks. Soda water got charged?????. Half a coke £4. Got a ticket for my meal and my friend had to use my ticket as instructed off staff to get his meal?????. Is someone on the fiddle here or what???
s.
Good food at good value as is always the case with a Toby.
Friendly staff and the usual expected covid measures being taken
C. L.
First time here today with my girlfriend and parents. Had a lovely Sunday lunch here. The meats were all delicious, and the vegetables fresh, plentiful and cooked to perfection. They also have real ale on draught, which is always a bonus. They only had Sharp's Doom Bar, however, so it would be nice to see a few more draught ales to choose from. We all had a dessert to finish, and they were served in a timely manner, and tasted great! In summary, we had a fantastic meal here at our local Toby Carvery at Kenton Bank, and will be going back for Sunday lunch soon! Thanks to all the team here.
Chris

Lovely Christmas lunch. Staff are brilliant.
B. T.
Staff member very friendly and helpful
k. e.
Went with a party of 25, which they accommodated very well. Food was lovely and the staff helpful and friendly. Drinks are a little steep, including soft drinks, but well worth a visit
L. N.
Love carvery
L. S.
When we arrived a staff member was on the phone and didnt acknowledge that we were there so we were stood for about 5minutes
W. F.
Bog standard Toby carvery, unlike the others I visited in lockdown you filled in a sheet to say what you wanted and couldn't go up.
Generaly good but they were a bit mean with the meat.
R. G.
Great food, nice atmosphere, huge portions and a good price can't go wrong.
S. H.
Stingy with the meat!! Staff lovely
L. W.
Love a Toby Carvery on a Sunday! We have the veggie square plate- great value for money and very tasty! The staff are friendly and helpful

Vary very good and quick service.

Love a Toby Carvery on a Sunday! We have the veggie square plate- great value for money and very tasty! The staff are friendly and helpful
S. R.
The good is great but do feel there offers should be for everyone. Couples who just have a carvery each are peanolized as they only spend 11.98 on food which means they are never entitled to the offers which is wrong they still spend money.
J. Y.
Good food, really friendly and efficient staff, great value
j. r.
Nice comfortable setting, a bit dated though. Food was nice for a carvery but the portion size cuts of meat was really disappointing. Would definitely go back, but would go more often if this was addressed
J. C.
Great food, guaranteed. Stuffing is to die for. Great with kids and will accommodate without prior booking. We try and go twice a month. Fabulous five stars 😉
D. P.
Got a carvery lunch delivered today.
Disappointed with the portion size it was like a frozen supermarket dinner rather than a takeaway meal. Certainly not worth the price.
T.
There was a half hour wait for table in restaurant when clearly there was loads of seats free but were able to eat food straight away if we ate in the lounge which was ok as the room was empty so plenty of seats to choose from, also 10 minute wait for staff to wipe hotplates down and yorkshire puddings were flat as pancakes, my partner got splashed by meat fat when cook was slicing meat in front of her, it let the experience down as ive been on 2 occasions already over the years and was fine
T. S.
Staff very friendly service was excellent and food was excellent definitely be going back
P. “. E.
Could do with a refurb to stop it looking like an aging pub. Nice waitresses, but we were seated next to a dumping table where many used plates etc, were stored before moving to the kitchen a while later. Also, the carver seemed to have no idea what he was doing, at best, he could possibly have been filling in for the usual carver who I can only assume was on a break. Even if that was the case, the 2nd best carver should still know the basics of a knife. Price is reasonable, but I'm conflicted to if I go back, or go to the more clinical feeling Metro Centre.
A. C.
Great place to eat - we had the carvery - very tasty - our waitress was called Meagan ( so friendly and helpful) will certainly be going back again
P. S.
Th food was hot, plenty veg nd gravy. Th staff were attentative wth out being in your face. I'd highly recommend dinning here.
Th roast potatoes, r vry crispy, Yorkshire puddings r huge nd th potato gratin tasted cream nd light.
m. B.
Bad lighting , very rude chef , meal was ok .
Such a shame as i had my brother in law who came over from abroad , we wanted to show him a traditional British meal .
Unfortunately like i put on my comment chef was rude , lights were dim so we are in the dark and the chef clearly didn't want to speak .
I suggest better lighting and a chat with the chef on hospitality.
C. G.
I like the food but the only problem I have with Toby carvery is I feel very uncomfortable picking up the food. I always think "I've just picked up 3 rosties... Is that too many?" And the apparently all you can eat vegetables isn't very clear and the policy for it
C. S.
Had the carvery it was o.k. the service was very good. However although we were sitting near the food area we were all very cold. Even having a hot tea didn't warm us up. Not sure we will hurry back unti the weather changes.
M. W.
Lovely place to eat, with good service . Only down side was I found there wad very small amount of meat served. Reasonable price for quick easy meal for the family
b. d.
Poor reception, bad attitude. Half way through meal before any one approached us, but still did not ask if we wanted to order drinks. The place needs a complete refurbishment, on the plus side the meals were good.
A. K.
Good carvery on a Sunday. Good always looks & tastes great. Price is reasonable. Can get very busy on a Sunday so would reccomnended to book. Also do great breakfast carvery too!
V. M.
Managed to get us in even when extremely busy and the food was food amazing x x
B. M.
Staff very professional, food very good, except carrots which were dry looking and not apertising, missed a good helping of sweetcorn or corn on the cob, these were not even on the menu, drinks hot and tasty.
E. S.
I've had great service there before, absolutely love the food. I would definitely recommend for a family or friend dinner, good value for money
s. a.
Brilliant & a absolute must if ur going to Newcastle Airport, fill up on food & drink (wether its breakfast, dinner or evening meal) before ur flight it will save u a fortune if u usually get a meal in the airport.
D. J.
Great for the all you can eat breakfast, plenty on offer, and at £4.89 love the price.
S. G.
We had carvery just standard size , absolutely amazing beef and gammon were juicy and very tasty choice of veg was good very creamy mash perfectly cooked carrots and omg the best crackling I've tasted in years recommended to anyone
t. h.
Went for the carvery today with my partner as we often do and I can honestly say today was the worst visit ever as the que for the carvery was horrendous and there was actually no staff serving on it . It got to a point where we actually nearly walked out .there was also other customers complaining.
J. M. M.
Always had a good meal here in a nice pleasant restaurant, served by well trained staff who look after their clients and deliver a top class product in a well looked after facility
K. D.
Only waited 20 mins for table very long queue for food as it was very busy. The gammon and lamb were lovely really tender only problem was not enough vegetables to choose from apart from that delicious
S. S.
Good food and friendly service. Some mix up between new menus on the table but not on the waiting staff tablets but easily sorted.
J. H.
Food was lovely but the staff leave a lot to be desired...... Not sure they are trained in smiling or good customer service. Especially the bar maid.
P. T.
Advise booking at busy times. Staff always very helpful. Food above average but I find you can never get enough meat from carveries. I suppose this is how they make their money though
N. A.
Quite canny for late on an easter sunday
j. j.
This was a old favourite had not been for a while. The chef cutting the meat must of been a vegetarian as the meat was very small portion, perfect for a young child...but you can fill up on lots of potatoes
A. L.
No mash or turnip on the day we went
S. C.
Liked the re fit, but the veg self service people slow down the queue especially at peak times.. chefs are quick in getting the meat on the plate... Good service all around
A. W.

Excellent meal veg roasted pots Yorkshire puds meats replenished quickly fab gravy and pigs in blankets to die for even my mother who's fussy enjoyed so I would give it 5 gold stars you want a good roast come here and no I don't work here or have shares in the place it makes a change to get it just how you like it hot and consistent

Price is reasonable but food was lukewarm. Eggs were hard. Sausage was really good very tasty the best thing on the plate. Eggs were hilarious.

Carvery is spot on, ordered food separately and had to keep checking to see if it was done as you have to collect it yourself from the chef which was slightly inconvenient. Apart from that food was fine and drink are cheap.

Best carvery I've ever been to, but that's because it's only one. Not that that's a bad thing, I just go back time and time again for those delicious tastes
