I've been coming to Hush since 2016 and, funnily enough, it was completely by accident as I thought I'd booked an appointment elsewhere. I'm *so* glad I ended up at Hush or I'd never have met the wonderful Chris! There's no one else I trust to colour my hair, he knows exactly what he's doing and talking about, what will suit you and is best for your features etc. My hair always feels amazing, it's never felt damaged after being coloured and has never been butchered with the scissors! The new salon is snazzy and customer service is great - everyone is super friendly and they make a great cup of tea ;) lol. Would 100% recommend :)

I had my hair coloured by both Demi and Katie on separate occasions close together and was very pleased with the final result. Katie did a brilliant job and all the staff were very understanding and ensured I left the salon pleased with the service. Highly recommend Katie for anyone looking to go from dark/orange to blonde. So pleased to have found a hair dresser I can trust and also a pleasure to talk to whilst the hair is being coloured. I also had a complimentary nail polish, can't remember the ladies name but she was also lovely! It's been a few weeks since the treatment and the colour has not faded at all.

I went to Hush on Wednesday with a vision of what I wanted Lottie carefully talked it through with me and made it work perfectly for my hair type. When I say I walked out with exactly what I wanted I mean it was kinda better. I just had a cut this time but we talked about changing the colour next time and she has such exciting creative ideas. Lottie has been doing my hair for quite sometime now and what can I say, she’s never left me disappointed. I was welcomed by the staff and offered a drink, which I thought was nice. The staff were professional and lovely. Demi was my hairdresser and she provided me with a lot of helpful advice in looking after my hair and she cut my hair perfectly, all whilst being friendly and funny. I will definitely be coming back. Convenient location and friendly team! I booked a hair colouring appointment with Simone and received a complimentary manicure with Thianna. Both ladies were absolutely lovely and made my first experience at the salon very comfortable. I used the private lounge for my hair appointment and the room next door for the manicure (not female only so if you're getting a manicure and require privacy, be sure to inform staff in advance). My hair did not lift as we'd hoped but Simone made it work and I came out with a beautiful colour and cut. Thank you Simone and Thianna!

I had a balayage done here and a hair cut, it was done amazing by Demi. She was really nice and made me feel comfortable. During the consultation she made sure she knew exactly what I wanted and advised me that I wouldn’t be able to get the exact hair I wanted on the picture I showed her, because I had dyed my hair before with warmer colours, which I really appreciated because if she didn’t tell me I would have been disappointed in the end. I was genuinely afraid cuz I had a bad experience before at another salon which ruined my hair completely, I didn’t want that to happen again. But after I got my hair done at hush my hair seemed much healthier than at the other salon and it looked amazing I loved it! After I got home I was even more happy with how it looked. My dad who’s usually against me dyeing my hair said it was pretty too, so I cannot thank Demi enough! I’m really happy with the hair colour I got and the cut, it was a bit expensive but it was worth it. I recommend Demi for anyone who has dark hair and is planning to go lighter. You also get offered drinks which I think is very nice. Thank you again for the service! I will definitely be going back and recommend it to my friends.

Nice place to go and get a haircut. Nothing extraordinary and service was alright. Don’t buy the products at the reception, it’s a complete ripoff. I even asked if this is the real price and the answer was yes. Later I looked it up and they are selling some products almost double the actual price. So, save yourself some money and buy it online on legitimate websites instead (not amazon).

Michaela was very professional and considerate. The haircut was done well at a good price and she gave good advice on how to take care of my hair. Conversation was interesting. I since had a manicure with Nadia which was done well. She was friendly and my hands felt smooth afterwards. She didn’t ask if I wanted a makeup mark removed from my hands. Since the manicure I have noticed some slight chips in my nails (it’s only been four days). I did ask about wearing washing up gloves to clean and they said gel should be fine. This is something to bear in mind when comparing with other salons. Nadia has since run to re-arrange the appointment for another date. I was going to go this month but decided I don’t have the time. I’ve now re-arranged for November and the salon were very understanding of my exemption from wearing a mask. Since then the salon have rang saying I must have the free manicure done immediately. I am not interested in this as getting my nails right is taking too much time. I didn’t anticipate I would enjoy the manicure or it would last due to my experience last time. The issue I had with my nails is documented in a photo attached to my review.

I recently moved to Birmingham and needed to find a hijabi-friendly hairdressers in city centre. I found HUSH via a google search and I was impressed with the section on their website specifying how they can cater for the needs of those who require privacy during a haircut. Upon arriving and waiting for my appointment time, I was offered a drink of my choice (I chose water to which they added a nice lemon slice to :)). As I wear a headscarf, my haircut took place in a nice area downstairs which was curtained off for privacy. Whilst washing my hair, my hairdresser Ev had asked another hairdresser to make sure I was covered in case a male employee passed by. I really appreciated how understanding and accommodating she was without me asking. Thanks Ev! In terms of the haircut, Ev immediately understood what I wanted after I showed her a photo. She tailored what I had asked for to my hair type and we had a good conversation during the cut. The blow dry gave my new cut a really great bounce and she even backcombed my hair for me. The haircut and whole experience at HUSH was good value for money. I would definitely go there again and I would also recommend it for my fellow hijabis in Birmingham. The staff are also very polite and respond to calls/ emails promptly.It was the best haircut experience I’ve had - Thanks!

I've been searching for 4 years for a place that understands what I need. I booked with their executive stylist and got exactly the haircut I wanted. I have thick Indian hair that needs to be cut in multiple layers and tapered. Nobody seemed to understand my hair needs here in UK till I came here and had my haircut with?James. I also got highlights exactly as I showed them I wanted . The exact subtlety and interest I wanted they created. Their staff are very friendly and highly skilled. Each of them specialize in different things. They give warm drinks and have a menu that you can order stuff from. All services are quite expensive, but worth it for me as I only cut my hair once a year.

Went there for the first time, based on good reviews on google. I booked cut with the salon manager, but normal staff was ready to do my hair. I needed to remind them what have I booked. Michael is a professional guy, I can say he knows what he was doing, however a bit in a rush. I had a feeling he wanted to do all quickly. he jabbed me once or twice with his comb or scissors :) However I would come back to him. Then, I went to do my nails- gel manicure. Very disappointed. I was charged 27pounds for a manicure without any soak, any quick hand massage. All done quickly and I visited better places for nails in this price! In the end I was adviced to use hand cream. Last thing. I sent the deposit as required, then I was charged full price at the till! I needed to call and ask, why! Too many little things to be corrected.

I am a regular client of the therapist Sam whom I would highly recommend. She always tailors my treatments to exactly what I need. For example I am extremely sensitive to the heat from the parrafin wax for the deluxe pedicure. She knows this and has been trying different techniques on me to find something more suitable. She's very good at treating my ingrown toenails too. My sister has had a couple of massages from her and totally agrees with me. I wouldn't go anywhere else now for my pedicures.

After trying (and failing) to take my naturally dark brown hair to a cool blonde at home, ended up with a brassy multi-tonal ombre.
