My first time getting my hair cut in years and first time in a curly hair salon and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I had a complete restyle and the owner was so supportive, helpful and talented. She took me through each step, helped me figure out what my hair needed and gave me the most amazing cut! Seriously cannot speak highly enough of my experience. Curly girls, do yourself a favour and book an appointment ASAP!!!

I previously had my hair chemically processed but it had become damaged by my previous hairdresser as the chemicals had not been applied correctly, leaving me with two different hair textures down the length of my hair. I have been having my hair treated by Jacqui and recently had it cut short to get rid of all my chemically processed hair. My hair is once again looking healthy and thriving - I can now work on growing it again. Jacqui didn’t pressure me into the cut and asked me to go away and think about it before committing to it. Always a professional service and a friendly welcome. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Jacqui. 😃

Had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Jacqui and I was so pleased! I had a wash, treatment and trim- she kindly helped me style and “bump the ends” of my blow out too which was ever so kind of her as I had somewhere to go that evening. REVIEW UPDATE: They're not very good at communicating with autistic people, and seemed to want to talk down to me during my appointment. They made me, a disabled person, waste energy going to an appointment for a skin test, only to look at my hair and conclude they can't tell what curl pattern it is as it wasn't wet. Wouldn't wet it, then told me to leave and come back again. Second time they still refused to do the skin test and then it became apparent they were not intending to do the thing I wanted; hair dying. They kept telling me I had colour damage because of how my NATURAL curl patten loosens at the end and because of the left over colouring over about half my hair (it's the only time it's been died and was done without bleaching, which they refused to believe). Ignoring what I was saying and trying to talk down on me wasn't a good look. I tried to compliment them on how I felt safer at a salon like this, after experiencing much salon racism. They began arguing with me saying it must be my fault for not understanding the skill of other stylists (aka telling them what to do instead of trusting them) or maybe not telling them what to do (which directly contradicts the earlier point). It felt like they were taking my compliment, which hinged on my previous trauma, as a direct insult about them? They're too busy trying to educate you in every thing, I'm surprised they didn't try to take my pen off me and tell me how to spell my own name. Klassic Koncept is a salon that values education and communication, which is evident from their deeply detailed website and consideration of many aspects of the services they provide. The location is quite ideal, close to town but just out of the way of the chaos, so you can really relax. The first thing that stood out to me was how accessible the building was, and speaking to the owner, it was clear they put in a lot of thought on accessibility. The bathroom is fully accessible for a wheelchair user like myself, with enough space for a carer to help, and for turning around a wheelchair. The entrance is flat, and the doors wide enough for all sizes of wheelchairs. The lay out is wheelchair accessible, spacious and covid appropriate. Their product range is good, with options for vegan, eco friendly and sulphate free products, meaning ethics and special requirements of clients can more readily be accommodated. I had a long conversion, both on email, in the prior consultation and in my first appointment, about hair care and my goals. Sharing free information (with handouts) speaks to the interest they have in hair education. The salon is confident enough in their abilities that they won't hold back on all the tips needed to make your hair as healthy and nice as possible, that you could do in your own time. And it makes the experience way more valuable. I love my hair but most salons blame my hair for any mishaps they made. For the most part KK didn't do this, although they did claim my hair was damaged and used my NATURAL curl pattern as justification and insisted I cut about 3 inches off. I felt they could handle my ringlets which trip most people up, but I don't trust that they ever intended to colour my hair which is why I didn't end up going back after a month, as I had initially intended to. Pretending to offer something and changing the goal posts every appointment while demanding a couple hundred pounds isn't ethical. Klassic Koncept has great potential, offering multi-ethnic hair specialists, skin specialists, hair care education and advice, serious considering of (physical) accessibility (not so much neurodivergent), they are extremely health and safety conscious (which is especially prudent during the pandemic recovery). Their communication is good at times, but when it comes to double checking they understand you before taking offence and 'educating' you, they have some improvements to make.

I am always nervous when getting a haircut because not everyone knows how to cut and style curly hair, but Chay and Jacqueline at Klassic Koncept did an amazing job! We talked through what I wanted and what would be best for my hair and I left the salon incredibly happy. I love getting my hair done here, Jackie is always so lovely and the staff are really kind and helpful. I had my hair relaxed and jackies always makes sure your hair health comes first. She will offer you a treatment two weeks before the treatment then book you for your relaxer. There is always tea up for grabs and nice biscuits. I went in for a trim in August, after I had a positive experience with the free consultation a couple months prior. I was extremely nervous because I hadn’t been to a salon in Birmingham before, but I decided to give it a try. Before booking my appointment, I called to get the price of my cut and was very happy so I proceeded to move forward. Once there, the ladies were very nice and it was a pleasant environment overall. The toilet was also extremely clean, which was a bonus! My stylist was very friendly, and we found that we had things in common. This made me feel even more comfortable. But the trouble came after the cut. I didn’t particularly like the way my hair was styled, and I could tell she was doing her best so I just decided to get over it and fix it to my standards when I got home. Then when I went to pay, I was told my total was £19 more than the quote I was given previously. I was not happy! I questioned her, and she said the extra charge was for the styling, using products, etc. I was in a rush so I didn’t bother to argue about it. I definitely feel like this should’ve been made known to me beforehand, because I definitely wouldn’t have got it styled, especially because I didn’t really like how I looked in the end. I don’t appreciate that lack of communication and because of this I don’t know if i want to return again.

I have been visiting this salon for over 6 months now and I can't fault the service, Jackie and the team are FANTASTIC. I am really fussy about my treatments, I have had the same hairdresser for over 20 years, however after a colour disaster, I contacted Klassic Koncept and haven't looked back. Yesterday I decided to have a drastic change (long hair to very short) and whilst is going to take some time to get use to - I love it. Came to Klassic Koncept last year to get my hair cut and styled after i had cut off my dreadlocks of 8 years. I had a lovely experience with Jackie, who was very chatty and made sure whilst I was sitting for the treatment to do its work I had a hot drink and magazines if I wanted. I also got the 20% off as it was my first visit. Just today been for my next cut and another brilliant experience, and fab advice. She was fantastic with my 5 year old boy when he came with my husband to collect me, even giving him some coins for his wallet to get sweeties at his school disco that night! Highly recommended. (I use a wheelchair and should also say I found it very accessible)

I had a great first experience at Klassic Koncept. I was nervous about trying a new salon in Birmingham but Chay quickly put me at ease, explaining every step of the process and regularly checking in to make sure I was happy with how my hair was looking. The staff as a whole were very welcoming and chatty, clearly passionate about curls and very happy to give personalised advice and product recommendations. The prices are higher than I would usually pay but it was worth it for individualised treatment. I started my search by looking at the website to see how helpful it was. The website delivered helpful information including the opportunity to book online which I didn't expect to work. It did and I was offered an appointment quickly with an alternative and advice about parking. I completed a short questionnaire and was quickly seated where I received the painful analysis of my damaged and breaking hair. This advice was technical, informative and supportive with a full explanation of the treatment to be used. What gave confidence was the technology supporting the advice and the confidence that the team knew what they were talking about. My hair was cut with confidence in a modern style by the manager and she managed to blend the style into the breakage I have completely hiding the problem. I did expect to loose the majority of my hair which wasn't required, excellent. The other aspect just as important was the aesthetic appearance, clean, airy, bathroom facilities excellent. Fine coffee, choice of refreshments, excellent. It's not cheap but worth every penny as a full package, with options offered to manage this. Great to see the management of black hair on this type of platform, I will be back soon.

Without a doubt they are the most professional, black hair specialists (although not exclusively for black hair) salon in Birmingham. I am rubbish at looking after my hair but I'm never made to feel uncomfortable and they are all willing to after advice and support. Their creative ideas and suggestions have ensured that I have never left the salon disappointed and the experience and knowledge they hold means my hair is always in fantastic condition. I sent an email to request an appointment as I looked all over the Internet for a curl specialist in Birmingham and was impressed with all the nice reviews Klassic Koncept has. I had a very quick reply. Someone called me to pick a day. On Friday just before 5pm, I arrived and filled in a quick form about my hair and I got a shampoo 20 min later (which was nice and relaxing). I think Jaqui cut my hair, you can tell she has a lot of experience with curls! She did a fantastic job styling my hair! Happy with my new haircut! Friendly staff who knows their curls! Recommend to all the curly girls out there! They will look after your hair for you!

Exceptionally professional, skilled and award winning stylists. The best black hair care salon in Birmingham. No wasting your time.... I never have to wait past my appointment before I'm sat in the chair. Plus, the staff do not engage in any vulgar, careless chatting over your head to one another - as opposed to the salons you find elsewhere in the city (mainly on the Dudley road). The team here at Klassic Koncept are the most friendly and welcoming I've ever encountered. The level of service I've received here has taken my hair from strength to strength...literally. I've been educated on the best products to suit my hair type. Since attending the salon, I've had no breakage and more compliments about the quality of shine in my hair and the innovative styles I wear. At the start of every visit, I am always ask how my hair has been and what I would like next. The relaxer I have (fiberguard) is so manageable. When I wash and condition my hair at home, it is simple and easy to manage the following day. My hair stays glossy and moisturised. Whilst here I usually get my eyebrows done. This is also a slick affair. It's always personal to me and my needs. I would wholeheartedly recommend this salon. I think it's the best in Birmingham and the best I've ever experienced.

My initial contact with them started with a prompt no-obligation response to a query I had about my daughters' hair and the appropriate treatment. Whilst aiming to meet my needs honest advice is given about what suits (vs not) - whether this concerns hair condition, cut or colouring. The atmosphere is friendly,you are truly made to feel individually special (its not just about your hair) and the salon is spotless. To say that I was initially cynical about this profession (based on my prior experience) is putting it mildly. Yet Klassic Koncept have undone all of that!!! I feel transformed after a visit. This is definitely the best hairdresser in Birmingham. Considering location, right opposite the Mailbox, the price is reasonable and worth paying for excellent treatment received. You can even have beauty treatments while you're waiting. All the staff are friendly and always do consultations at the beginning of each appointment to check how your hair is doing. Hair feels really healthy, full of volume and the longest it has been. Definitely worth checking it out for yourself. I wouldn't go anywhere else in the Mids!

They're hair doctors, I love that they dont just cut and style but observe and treat the hair according to its specific needs... And that's something every black woman needs... Personalized hair care because of the uniqueness of our mane and it's an added advantage that the salon is right next to where I live *wink*. I get my HD brows done by Roslyn, she's professional, friendly, fabulous and totally puts me at ease as I've got a low threshold for pain lol. Got my brows waxed for the first time by her and I've stuck with her ever since.
