I have previously managed bleaching and highlighting of my own hair but had gone OTT and my hair was very damaged so I had cut it at home. I thought I would treat myself and leave it to the professionals. I opted for the super deluxe full head highlights. However, I went in with blonde hair and left considerably darker. Not happy at all with the colour and really not what you expect from a proffessional colourist. I did go back for corrective highlighting but when my hair was toned again, I was left with an uneven tone. Grey ashy ends and dark brown roots, to the point the highlights was not distinguishable. As soon as i seen my hair being blow dried, I knew there was no way this colour is staying. As soon as i got home i started stripping the ash tones out with good old fairy liquid and then did a formaldehyde free keratin treatment.. as i know this is the only way to get that hideous ash tone out and bring my hair up a few shades. I have managed to get myself back to blonde but it will take a few more washes for the colour to settle. I am happy with the full head of highlights as it is something I haven't been able to do across my own head. I am also happy with the cut but the shade I walked out with was awful. I stated i do not want any ashy tones as it looks ageing and it does not suit my complexion. Sadly, that is exactly how I left. I upload pictures of my hair colour before i went in to the salon, after the first toning, second toning and the colour i have managed to obtain now at home through stripping out the ash. I am not a professional but i think what went wrong was putting the toner all over my hair. When it should have been on the roots and newly bleached hair as my ends are too porous and absorbed all the grey toner. I know this from managing my own hair and when i bleach my own hair at home, i do use a silver hair colour on the roots and i get a lovely blonde. In all honesty i am glad the salon struggled with toning my hair as it makes up for all the hours i have spent at home on the same problem haha. My hair is notoriously brassy!! Needless to say having spent £125 i expect more for my money in the sense the brief i gave.. no ashy tones should have been adhered too. The service i received was excellent and i would recommend the salon to others.

I came to Pickles and Co for a full head of highlights and hair extensions, I couldn’t be happier with my new hair!! The whole experience at Pickles and Co was fantastic from start to finish, lovely warm welcome on arrival and everyone at the salon was friendly and chatty. Helen coloured my hair beautifully, and the hair extensions are fantastic quality matched perfectly to my natural hair. She also had lots of tips and advice on how to look after my new hair. While I was in the salon, I saw Gavin do the most gorgeous blow dry for his client as well. Highly recommend - just amazing!

Great place! Background music was brilliant and overall vibe was relaxing. I think it was Hannah who cut my hair and she was lovely and chatty (but not too chatty!) and did a great job with my hair (I didn't know exactly what I wanted and she still did a great job from the few bits I said) The guy had an extremely rude and difficult customer and handled it way more professional than I would have managed (I'd have told her to leave!!) Will be going back next time I need a cut

I’ve been coming to this salon every week since 2015. They’re the best at what they do, I absolutely love my weekly visit to them. Excellent & friendly service from all the staff, they do the best, colour, cuts & blowdrys and my favourite stylists are Gavin Morgan & Helen Davis. I would never go anywhere else. The products they use are top tier. Book yourself in, you won’t regret it.

Pickles & Co has been my go-to salon since the end of lockdown. I went from quite long post-lockdown hair to a pixie cut and cannot praise the place more. I've done quite a considerable amount of research before going (suffice to say I had quite a few poor experiences at other places before) and picked Gavin for his love of short hairdos and colour. It couldn't have been a better choice! Gavin listened to what I wanted to achieve, gave me exactly the cut I was looking for and I haven't looked back since. I am now a firm regular, with hair that needs to be cut every 6-8 weeks if I want to keep it the way it is and I'm looking forward to every visit. All staff are fantastic, friendly, and very accommodating. I received plenty of advice for both my hair (it's very thin and particularly prone to tangling) and colour maintenance - I chose to change it twice now! I love the fact that the team are not afraid to consult each other when it comes to either cuts or colour; their passion for what they do and support for one another clearly shows. Being vegan myself, I particularly appreciate that they are now a completely vegan salon, with a great range of NAK hair products to show for it. Having tried quite a few places in Birmingham before, I've been looking for a salon to which I can return regularly and that's exactly what I found at Pickles. Gavin you are a star!

I loved my first experience at the Pickles and Co. Everything went well. I was asked to come in at least 48hrs earlier than the appointment for a quick patch test. My appointment started on time and Helen was really friendly. I struggle to know what I want and to communicate that, so I showed some pictures to Helen, she checked my hair, asked questions and explained what she would do. I also had my hair cut. The balayage turned out really nice and natural as I wanted, and the cut was great too. The environment was nice and the girls are very friendly. Got my haircut here this morning off groupon because I’m new to the area and wanted to affordably try a new place - however this place would definitely be worth the full price and my new go-to for a haircut. Will be visiting again for my next one! My hairdresser (Thomas) was lovely and my haircut was amazing. He showed me how to style it and explained the way it would grow out based on the cut. Very easy to find location and I would highly recommend the place.

I had such an amazing haircut with Hannah! Looks beautiful. So clean and lovely atmosphere here. So patient when I didn’t get my parking sorted on time too.
