I have been a client here for 5 years now and the time duration should speak for its self. The barber house always aims to provide the most hospitable executive experience and offers: pristine sharp cuts each time, clean edges and on point skin fades. I personally recommend Curtis however I'm certain each barber employed is up to the standards this barber shop upholds.

I wanted to find a new barber in the city, as my previous barber went back home. The barber house came recommend from a friend, so I decided to give it a go. The location is very clean, bright and welcoming. The staff was very kind, took my coat and offered me a drink. Dale is a fantastic barber and his experience is apparent. Professional feel, great service and a new bright and airy location. I didn't even get a haircut, I just waited for someone else, and was still offered a complimentary beverage while I waited! Great vibe. If you think it's expensive, it might be for a gents cut, but as my boyfriend said: "I can get a similar cut back home for £15, but it's not as good, and it doesn't make me feel special like this place does." Worth the cash, treat yourself.

Well what can I say ?? The star of the show is the owner Dale who is very welcoming and so understanding it’s untrue…a real gentleman who made me feel at easy as my situation is complex and unique shall i say. His location is prime amongst the top restaurants and offices and cocktail bars. I had come out of Starbucks and walked across the road from colmore row and his place is very discreet from the outside as it looks like an accountants office etc but when you step inside a whole new world open up to you, basically it’s a themed set up going back in time to the old American movies- the service is classic barbering which includes, facial steams, hot towel shaves, straight razor. Dale has 30 years experience and he makes great use of the scissors unlike using a trimmer and rushing the job. He guided me very well and was honest. I have had 2 consultations with him and been there 3 times done my eyebrows and last night started the beard shape up and process nice and subtle too! If you like a professional old fashioned place that footballers would visit to places in Sutton Coldfield or Solihull then this is the place for you especially that the location is spot on. You can’t get more central than that. The prices are not Turkish barber cheap but you pay for what you get!! Experience, location and the environment. I’m now a regular every 4 weeks. My Transformation continues. Thank you

Excellent haircut that I had for a gift from my partner. Was given a welcome alcoholic drink which was a nice touch on arrival. Charlie cut my hair who was very friendly and talkative. It's pricey if it wasn't a gift, but I would say worth it if your after something more than just no frills. The atmosphere inside was also very sleek! Thank you.

Great experience at this place!! Walked through the door, the lad on reception took my jacket, offered me a drink and I was in the barber chair almost straight away. The place looks very smart and stylish. Was booked in with Ethan, one of the Junior barber's, for a haircut and beard trim. Absolute Gent, very skilled for a young lad, listened to exactly what I asked for and delivered. Took his time and it showed, the quality of the cut was much better than previous barbers I've been to. Great cut throat trim of the beard too. I'll definitely be returning.

Brilliant haircut today at the Barber House, this place is a proper establishment that really goes above and beyond to make sure you have an excellent experience. The extra precautions they're taking since reopening to ensure the safety of customers and staff were faultless and really put me at ease. I come from a long history of £12 haircuts that have been anywhere from "bang on" to "shave it off" due the last screw up. But this place was really worth the extra cost. I love coming to the Barber House for a haircut, beard trim and proper shave. All the staff are very skilled and you are treated very well all through your visit. You are given a complimentary drink and even a shoe shine while you wait. The new shop is a real step up too, being much larger, modern and very stylishly furnished and decorated. There is even a gorgeous, brand new Triumph motorcycle on display to look at. The experience is well worth the money.

Today was my first visit to The Barber House in Birmingham and it definitely won't be the last. As soon as I walked in Ellie greeted me took my coat and I was offered a drink. Everyone was friendly, polite and very smart. They even offered to clean my shoes. I have had a few wet shaves in the past and I can honestly say this was the best by far. As for the hair cut it was brilliant the blending was just something else, the barber was really detailed and a real perfectionist. I loved all the extra touches, they really made me feel special. I was told they do cocktails on a Friday so i will be back in a couple of weeks. Not something I've experienced as normally when you visit a Barber you in and out the chair in 15 minutes. The Barber a house Birmingham is something else they are true British Barbers at their best...

Visited today for a haircut, great service offered a drink, had a lovely white Nespresso coffee, I was then asked if I wanted my shoes shined free of charge whilst I waited for my haircut. Great service and had my hair washed and then cut, really pleased with the cut as I have tricky hair. the staff are friendly and attentive to what you want.

Friendly staff who take care with the cut you want .I went in today from a previous barbers that had messed up a cut... The fella that cut my hair has styled it to grow out the way I want. Would recommend highly and be back soon. Update: I've had three haircuts in the space of 6 weeks now to get the style I want to grow and have had Charlie and Ellie cut my hair. I visited Barber House today for my first time having previously been a customer at a nearby rival. I walked in around 11.05 and was warmly greeted, coat taken, coffee offered and shoes shined whilst I waited. When it was my turn I could not fault the barber - sorry I forgot your name but it was the young black guy, great personality, polite, took his time on the cut and talked me through what he was doing. There was a good atmosphere in the shop and lots of well groomed customers who appeared happy with the service. I was impressed and will definitely be back - worth the 40 minute drive into Birmingham.

I first entered Barber House at 7:05am one morning, thinking I’d get my hair done before work. I was immediately informed that there was only one barber ‘on duty’ and it would take 45 minutes for him to finish with the gentleman he was currently attending to. So off I went to work and had an early start. I returned to the Barber House after work, was welcomed back, advised Dale would be a couple of minutes and was promptly served a gin and tonic (with choice of gin). I prefer to trust experts rather than fussily stipulate requirements, and Dale delivered a sharp-looking haircut that has grown out very well over a week. The set-up and equipment all feels quality, and so does the service. This place is a good thing for Birmingham. The best bit? The honesty at the beginning of the day: so many places would have mislead me with ‘just ten more minutes’ five times. Room for improvement? I prefer cucumber in Hendrick’s.

I'm very happy with my beard and haircut. The beard is new for me - first time in over 50 years - but the team gave me good advice and avoided trimming it too soon. I've been back 4 times since then, yes at my age the hair still grows, and I'm happy with the cut, shape and trim. Be warned, this is a popular place and they don't rush to get you out, instead they take time to get it right. But you'll feel nicely pampered if you let Charlie, Ellie or any of the others do their thing.

From the time you arrive you are made to feel relaxed. The staff acknowledge you as you arrive, you are asked if you would like a drink, shoes clean etc etc. Nothing is to much trouble. The time you get in the chair is unhurried and the standard of haircuts are exemplary. If I had to recommend one barbers to go to in the West Midlands, it would be “ The Barber House”. Looking forward to seeing Dale, Kieron and the team again very soon.

I should begin this review by saying that I visited the Barber House on a busy Saturday afternoon. That said, I don’t think that that fact excuses my fairly disappointing experience. I arrived at the Barber House at 2.15 for a hair cut. I left just before 4. The no appointment necessary approach is fine if cuts and beard trims are quite quick but when each lasts 45 minutes plus, you can (like me) easily find yourself waiting for over an hour here. It would have been nice to have had a bit of warning about that on entry. The problem is that the staff here are excruciatingly slow. Every cut and trim seems to come with a never ending offering of complementary extras - shaves seem to last for about 30 minutes and practically involve your beard being licked off by kittens. Oils, lotions, hot towel after hot towel, more oil. They go on and on. None of it is helped by the fact that the staff work at a leisurely pace and don’t seem able to talk and work at the same time. All of the free drinks (alcoholic or soft), shoe shining, ear hair singing etc is fine but it means customers are waiting an obscene amount of time. It’s all a bit much in my opinion. Why they don’t offer appointments is beyond me. The 75 minute wait was made fairly unbearable by the playlist - Basshunter, Scooter and alike didn’t feel in keeping with the trendy vibe. So the haircut was actually ok. My barber was a very pleasant young chap and did a reasonable job. I had to remind him to thin my hair but he took care to check how much I wanted off etc. The whole thing took another 45 minutes by which point I practically had to leap out of my chair (declining yet more extras) just to make it back to my car before my 3 hour ticket ran out. I personally won’t be coming back here. The extras are fine but not if they come at the cost of customer service. 45 minutes is an acceptable wait on a Saturday but well over an hour isn’t.

Visited in Friday, was looked after by “Big Key” ! This place is exceptional. This was a treat for myself the day before my daughters wedding. Arrived and was quickly welcomed, coat hung up and off to a chair. Nice tea (builders at request) arrived prompt. Discussed with Key my options for beard which I had allowed to grow longer than usual. Key discussed options , he clearly knew what was best and I followed his idea. I was literally pampered by “Big Key” a large guy, tattoos - a proper Black Country guy - however he is a master at this. It’s a face spa for men. My face was steamed, massaged, lotions, potions, oils, powders it was amazing. I loved the hot and cold towels, and of course the cut throat razor. Complimentary San Miguel beer topped the afternoon. My face on the day of wedding looked so fresh, my beard neat as was my clipperd hair. I would visit every few weeks if I could. For me it be a treat, birthday, Father’s Day, Xmas etc. If your a groom, father of bride like me etc treat yourself. Compliments to Big Key, these are photos that will be around much longer than me so great job. Thank you. My first visit, not my last.

Being from Wolverhampton it's a bit of a distance to travel but having received a gift for a beard sculpting, l thought I'd give it a try along with getting my hair cut. I'm quite particular about my beard but Luke went above and beyond my expectations to really get it looking right. He took his time and his precision is evident from his craftsmanship. Coming here today was a great split-second decision to make. I had googled Men’s Barbers in birmingham and this was the first one to come up. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy christmas market sits this gem of a barbers. I had junior barber Aiden but he had the makings of a true professional. He was professional and engaging throughout. I was as awkward as ever and didn’t know what i want but his recommendations were genuine. My only negative was that i had a shave yesterday and didn’t wear the correct shoes to be shined! Will definitely be back for the full experience and would happily have Aiden cut my hair again.

If you are looking for a traditional barbers then this is the place, great service and the staff are great. They do a traditional wet shave and they offer free refreshments whilst you wait and the coffee is great. I found them after moving back to Birmingham and have been visiting them for the last ten months after trying five different barbers and they are the best barbers I have found in Birmingham.

Dropped in for a quick cut whilst changing trains from Snow Hill to New Street. Explained that I was on a tight schedule and would have been happy to pop back in the evening but the guys were accommodating as ever and moved things around to fit me in. A quality cut and beard trim with a minimum of fuss but attention to detail, as a result the cut always looks sharp and stays that way unlike other cuts that look shabby after the first wash. This is without question the finest barbers you could hope to find, been coming for over a year now and long may it continue. I've been using the Barber House for over a year now; I'd been to three or four different barbers trying to find someone who understood the intricacies of a good beard but either they didn't have the experience or their staff turnover meant you never knew who you were getting or the quality of their work. Then I found the Barber House and was an immediate convert!! First, they really know their stuff and they listen carefully so you get what you want; Second, I've not seen any staff turnover apart from apprentices who come through their rigorous training programme finally making it to the chairs and cutting - this is a real testament to them, you know the happy atmosphere they create for the client is real, the happy banter between the barbers is real because the staff don't change every time you go. Finally, they really look after you, whether you're in the chair or waiting you are made to feel like the one that matters - you can even get a nip of whisky in your coffee to warm the cockles of your heart on those colder days. If you want a warm welcome, a great cut with attention to detail where you feel like the one that matters, you can't go wrong at The Barber House!!

I am always looked after at this place. All the barbers seem to be very good at what they do. One barber in particular, who I ask for each time I go in, always knows what to do with my hair and especially my beard, sometimes without any spoken words! Thanks Key, you're the man! Yes, this place is not the cheapest, yes it can take a while to be seen, but it's not your average every day barbers....it's a proper barbers....where you talk to your barber, have banter, get pampered and leave your worries behind (well, you forget them while you're there...even if it momentary). Positives: fun place to visit, great hair cuts, friendly staff, great music. Negatives: slow. Oh my god it's slow. The staff (whilst they are friendly) are fastidious to the point of ridiculousness. They faff around, joke amongst themselves etc etc. I think they are more interested in looking cool than shifting the queue of punters desperately waiting their turn. Also a bit pricey for what it is (£27). They also picked on one of the junior members of staff with these tasteless left wings jokes that would have made Jeremy Corbyn blush.

Another 5 star beard trim and "shave" by Kieron aka Sweeney Todd. Over the last 2 years, scouring the whole of the West-Midlands to find a barber who can trim and shape a beard properly, Kieron is the man. Surprised by comments made by Jem Dunman early in the week, as I and most people know what the term "shave" means. It was obviously clear to me that the said gentleman had fallen asleep whilst under the care of the barber. Whilst he asked for a quick cut and then let the barber proceed with a wet shave, at what stage did the gentleman not realise that it was not only his neck being shaved but his face also? I will continue visiting this barber shop as the team are really friendly and I cannot recommend them enough. Take no notice of Victor Meldrew aka Jem Dunman who doesn't appear to be able to speak up at the time. Keep up the good work guys! Please give it s try and make your own mind up.
