Buck is an absolute genius! It’s the best haircut I’ve ever had! It’s super-easy to style, and looks great both straight and wavy. My hair also moves beautifully, which it’s certainly never done before! The whole experience was fantastic - highly recommended!

I've been to Lightning Like Scissors a few times now! The first for a photoshoot where Buck styled my hair incredibly! Then also for haircuts and colouring. I'm useless at hair myself, and usually hate getting it cut. But Buck was able to take my vague ideas and translate them into amazing colours that really worked for me! Buck is really friendly and the atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming, which is great.

I was left gutted when a hair salon I trusted left my hair in a complete mess. Lightning Like Scissors didn't just save my hair Buck made it a piece of MF punk beauty!!! I am seriously in love with this salon. A small, punky boutique with simply none of the cliquey, pretentious atmosphere of the usual high end places. I've tried many of the top rated salons in Brighton - Toni & Guy, Rush, Brighton Electric trying to get a unique cut and this one guy shames all of them with his talent. It is also the only place I've been where they made a point to ask what pronoun I am happy to use. Progressive, welcoming, edgy and seriously cool. Book in here quick because it won't stay a hidden gem for long.

Had a great haircut and stylish undercut by Buck. Felt so at ease hanging out with him, was like being around a friend even though we had only just met. I wanted to support a LGBTQ+ local business and glad I did, I have sent many of my fellow queer friends his way and they have had the best time and had phenomenal restyles cuts and colour work. Its also refreshing to visit someone that doesn't charge based on gender!

I made the trip down from London to get my hair cut by Buck and I seriously cannot recommend him enough. He's welcoming, funny, incredibly skilled and most importantly you'll get exactly what you ask for and more with zero judgement! You want a mullet? You get a mullet. Want your head shaved down to the bone? No problem! Previously I've really struggled to find someone that "gets me", female-focused salons play it too safe and barbers aren't always sure what to do with my hair. Buck's got a lot of experience in both salon styles and barbering techniques so he doesn't even flinch when I ask for a "Yolandi Visser" TL:DR, Buck is great, get your hair cut by Buck!
