I’ve not been in Bristol long and was finding it hard to find a good barber. I’d had a couple of terrible cuts and was in need of rescue. So glad I gave wingman a go, within 2 cuts I’m back to having a hairstyle. First barber in the city that listened to what I wanted, explained what he was doing and do a really amazing job. I will be back every 3 weeks without fail!!

I've been coming here for a good couple of years now and I've always felt at ease, found the barbers easy to chat with and left with a fresh cut I was happy with. The owner, Alex, is very welcoming and is an expert in his field; always ready to offer some honest advice on the type of cut that you're after. It's walk-ins only so you may have to wait a bit, but usually no longer than half hour and that is on a rare occasion. I try to pre-empt this by going at a time I suspect is not going to be busy and often they're ready to go straight away. If you do have to wait, they've usually got some good magazines, something good on the TV, and a whole jukebox of classic arcade games to keep you busy. They might even give you a beer while you wait. The prices are very reasonable and they offer a loyalty card scheme so your 10th cut is free! I've made use of a couple while I've been there and it's always a bonus to walk away with a fresh trim and your wallet no lighter. The location is great, right at the bottom of Christmas Steps and looks out onto one of the main roads through the centre of Bristol. One memorable time, there was a climate change march that passed right outside the door led by none other than the yellow-macced wonder, Greta Thunberg. I remember we lost the other customer for 5 minutes while he tried to get a glimpse even though he was midway through his cut haha. Good times... I've left Bristol for a while now and hope that when I return, Wingman will still be there to get my hair trimmed, as I highly recommend. Cheers!

What a brilliant recommendation! HIGHLY Recommend! I've just moved to Bristol and needed a new Barber, had it mentioned that Wingman's did walk in's and were really amazing. Couldn't Arrived on my lunch break to be greeted by a really friendly Barber, Alex! He went above and beyond making me feel at ease, was really easy to talk to and you can tell he has a genuine passion for his craft! 10/10 Will be going again & they give loyalty discount!

Just popped in on the off chance as was waiting for my brother to finish his chemo session. The young lady was very friendly and did a cracking job. I had a head shave and beard styled more than happy with the results. If I lived in Bristol I would use on a regular basis. Top notch.

The friendliest little Barbers in Bristol centre. Great cutting skills and good advice on styles. You can even play a retro arcade game if you have to wait. No appointments needed and they have a loyalty card to claim a free haircut. Student discount available. My hair has never looked as good. I've been there a dozen times now, love the place :)

A really fantastic barber shop, really good value for money, much better that the more expensive barber shops around Bristol I have found (I have tried out 5/6). Alex is a great owner and really looks after his customers and his shop and actually helped me change my hairstyle so that my hair was in much better quality. Really appreciate his honesty too. I used to walk past this place all the time, when it opened, because I live around the corner - the owner used to sit around patiently all day waiting for occasional customers. So I felt a bit sorry for him, and went in and got a haircut one day. Got chatting to the owner, Alex, and found out he is actually a really successful entrepreneur, and owns a few popular salons in the city. So I immediately stopped feeling sorry for him, and started feeling sorry for myself that I didn’t have his life! Lol It was kind of an new/empty/sparse place back then, but he told me about all the financial investment, and improvements he was going to make to the location (he was talking about adding TVs, arcade machines, beer fridge, music etc) and it’s just so cool to see his original vision all in place now. And everyone loving the atmosphere he’s obviously worked very hard at, and spent a lot of money on. Alex is not only a talented, successful barber/hair stylist, but a really genuinely nice bloke. And I’m delighted that the place is now busy every time I walk past, and thriving. I’ve been back a few times since - there is always a friendly face, a great atmosphere, and you get a great haircut. They really, genuinely, look after you, and do everything they can to make it a great experience. The customer service is second to none.

Amazing! Really great haircut every time ive been. Quick wait times normally, the most i've seen in there is 2 other people off-peak. I wanted to try a new haircut and wasn't sure on how to go about it. The owner whos name i've forgotten :( was really helpful in making it work with my hair. He's a great guy aswell, and so are the other employees. You can even have a beer while you wait and play on the arcade machine with pacmac, donkey kong etc. Will definitely now be my regular barbers :)

I was traveling to visit friends in Bristol with the last visit to Bristol being over 3 years ago my old Baber had closed. On a whim passing the Wingman barber shop I took a gamble as I know finding a good barber is difficult. The gamble payed off. I would highly recommend Hannah, if I remember her name correctly, she did a superb cut and the conversation was just a good if not better. Kudos goes to the manager as well he seems like a nice guy. Five stars all round and will visit again when I go back to Bristol.

Great concept idea. Catchy branding. Very friendly staff. Cheap prices. My haircut was good, nothing special but I only asked for trimming the sides and blend it with the top. Recommend!

Great cut every time, awesome staff (Alex- the owner, is very skilled, along with the young lady!). Good atmosphere, good chat and good music. Old school games machine is a cool feature too!
