I would only ever leave a review if I’ve had an amazing experience or an awful one. In this case, I hit the jackpot with my hairdresser! Matthew was incredible and knew exactly how to care and handle my thick hair which in the past has proven a nightmare for most hairdressers. His skill and expertise is absolutely next level and I honestly left that salon with a spring in my step. From finish to start, he was consistent and and knew what my hair needed. I’ve had so many compliments and I still can’t stop smiling!

Fabulous experience of this place, a calm atmosphere and very organised. My hairdresser Liv was excellent, one of the nicest hair cuts I've had for a long time! I have had my cut and colour done by Scott and Sarah respectively for years and I’ve always appreciated the great conversation as well as the great service. However the team has gone up even further in my estimations since having a baby. I put off coming into the salon for months because I was worried about the disruption my baby would cause. I needn’t have, Not only was the team welcoming and accommodating but Tina the receptionist comforted the baby while I had my hair done! I was so grateful and cannot recommend them highly enough!

First haircut since lockdown and I am so glad that you are back. The service as usual was excellent, the safety measures in place made me feel at ease and not at all worried, despite feeling anxious in public spaces where there are other people around. Scott cut my hair and Teigan coloured it. It is exactly how I wanted it to look. I've be a client at Bauhaus for nearly 16 years, Scott has always cut my hair, apart from the few times I've cheated, but I've always come back. Not because other stylists weren't any good but because I trust Scott and his team. Colourists have come and gone over the years, but everyone of them has been professional and knowledgeable so that I've always felt well advised...I've gone from brunette to red to blonde. All have looked good and my hair has always felt in good condition afterwards. In short... Would I recommend? Yes, definitely. Will I be going back? Yes. Why? Because there isn't anywhere else that I would trust half as much as I do Bauhaus.

Phoned from outside the salon to see if there was an appointment available..was welcomed in and treated very professionally by Rose. She asked lots of questions and listened really well. Rose really took care and time with my haircut (my hair is not the easiest to work with) even though i was her last client. I am very happy with my graduated bob and i'm all set for Christmas. I originally posted a review on here, very disappointed with my experience at the salon. I felt I wasn't listened to, and with effect, had 3 inches taken off my hair that I really didn't want taken off. Rob the owner called me the following day, and was sorry to hear of my complaint. He asked me to come in to see if he could rectify the situation, and get me to feel confident about my hair again. He agreed that the cut was quite blocky, and went ahead with shaping my hair in a way that gave the illusion of longer hair. I was a bit nervous of getting more cut off, but was assured by a lovely assistant who put me at ease when shampooing and massaging my hair. With a lovely cuppa at hand, Scott provided lovely conversation while he slowly styled my hair. His attention to detail was fantastic. Noting bits of my hair that were weak and broken, he gave me useful hints and ways of managing and looking after my hair (and didn't once push his own salon products on me) His experience and knowledge was outstanding-I really felt comfortable that I could sit back and let him style my hair, but every step of the way he told me in detail exactly what he was doing with my hair. I left confident and very happy with my updated and refreshed hairstyle...until he insisted I came back after 3 months for a complimentary cut with himself for free. An absolutely excellent service-Rob has restored my faith in the company. I have found my new hairdresser :)

I had my first appointment with Lucy last weekend. I had totally fried my hair bleaching it myself and then proceeding to tone and dyeing it to get the right colour, ending up dyeing it purple to get rid of the yellow/orange tones. My hair was jaw length and Lucy took it to a pixie cut. The cut is amazing, the condition is back again and she took the time to listen to what I wanted and executed it perfectly. I will most definitely be a long time client now. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

I feel so comfortable in this salon, they always do an amazing job on my cut and colour! The staff are so friendly and lovely, thank you so much to the lovely Kayla for always doing such a lush cut and Sarah for the lush colour and to the lovely Portuguese guy who washed my hair ( sorry don't know your name). I travel from west wales to get my hair cut with Scott.... His skill, knowledge and expertise ensure I always leave with my hair looking fantastic . No other hairdresser has ever been as meticulous or as thorough and I really appreciate his attention to detail. I totally trust him to give me the haircut that will work for me... even when I’m not sure myself what I want!! I always get compliments about my haircut/style and really can’t ever consider going to anyone else now! I have my hair coloured by different members of his staff, and have to say that they are all really careful, thorough and do an exceptionally good job. All the staff are very friendly and there is a very relaxed atmosphere in the salon.... highly professional and I can’t recommend highly enough!

I hadn't had my hair cut in a long time and thought I'd treat myself to a more expensive cut with the top stylist. I'm not sure I'll do that again. Was made to feel a bit bad about home-dying. Of course, I understand having it done at the hairdressers is better but I just cannot afford it every 3 weeks (the time I need to recolour it). I had also driven over an hour for the appt and it was a one hour slot. The appt started late (not a major issue) but the stylist then had a long chat with some other clients who popped in to say hello and, for whatever reason, it was 2 hours long in the end. I appreciate the time given but I was then late for my other appts. Maybe this is an issue with having to give strict time slots due to Covid so perhaps just letting clients know it could be longer would help. We discussed how I do yoga and, yet, the layer cut into my hair is a little short to tie back for this now. Not a major issue but I feel there was not enough discussion about what I wanted. When I asked what he was actually going to do with the cut there was (what I felt was) a patronising comment about me wanting to get technical. And rather than asking if I was happy with it, just before the end I was told 'well you'll either love it. Or not!' with no option to then give feedback. If it had been half the price I wouldn't have been so bothered; it's not a bad cut. But it wasn't worth £60 - not for me anyway. I often have trainees cut my hair at another salon due to cost (I'm a grad student) and actually feel they tend to pay more attention to what you want.

I have been here a couple of times now. Stylists have been lovely and professional and my hair has never looked better. However, I have been put off by the receptionist. My fringe grows quickly and have had to visit a few times to get it trimmed. The receptionist has always been rude during these times and I have felt like a hindrous to her even when I have been happy to return and try again the next day. I was made to feel that I put up a fuss when in fact I completely understand that there was no one available. I have therefore been put off from returning here again and would not recommended.

Kayla did a truly phenomenal job creating elegant and beautiful blowout for my Wedding Welcome Party. She was on time, professional, full of energy and made getting ready a blast. I visited the Cardiff salon a week ago with some trepidation as this was my first visit.I was pleasantly surprised a friendly salon and Stylist.I discussed with Scarlett who was going to cut and style my hair and about how I am always nervous when visiting a salon for the first time(I actually said that I would rather visit the dentist than a hairdressers) I had no need to worry Scarlett listened to how I wanted my hair to look and she did an absolutely amazing job. The style is flattering and easy for me to do.I then discusse having the colour of my hair done and she introduced me to Josh the colourist,we discussed what needed to be done and I have an appointment to see him in two weeks time. Going on my first visit I would highly recommend this Salon

On and off I've been coming to the Bakers Row salon for a couple of years now. There's always a really chilled vibe in the air, as well as the wonderful smell of the Aveda products that this salon uses. Clearly I love Bauhaus, because I travel some 200 miles from my home to visit Scott and his team. A couple of the colourists have looked after me so far, and I never leave less than absolutely thrilled. Indeed have another appointment booked in October, and I know it will be another positive experience. So thanks for making me one happy customer, and I'll see you soon.

Haven't walked out of a hairdresser in years and felt I loved my haircut. I have tried numerous stylists over the years but Tom from Bauhaus listened to my ideas and actually improved on them. He was very meticulous and took great care whilst cutting. I also asked for a conditioning treatment and it was so lovely I ended up buying the Aveda oil, with no hard sell. Lovely atmosphere and not all intimidating like some top class salons. Thank you, will be back even though 30 mile trip for me. Cherrie

I always used to go to Toni & Guy, but they went downhill so I started looking for a new hair salon and found Bauhaus. I've now been going there for a couple of years and have had an amazing hair cut - courtesy of Scarlet- every time. My sister now also gets her hair done here on my recommendation and travels down from North Wales especially! If your looking for a lovely friendly salon with amazing stylists look no further. 😀

Miracle workers! I have never loved my hair more and so glad I found this lovely hairdressers. All of the staff are so friendly and really helpful and informative too. Today Tegan did such a fantastic job of colouring my hair taking time and care to get the colour perfect (and making sure there isn’t any colour on my face afterwards!) she was so gentle doing my hair I almost fell asleep!! Everyone that I have spoken to or had done my hair at the salon are nothing but welcoming and friendly and would highly recommend. I have used other Aveda stockists sand haven’t found a salon that take so much care to get it perfect as you do. A huge thank you!!

Had a colour and cut as a birthday treat from my husband who goes there and I was really impressed with the salon and the friendly staff. Discussed a range of styles over a coffee and didn't feel at all rushed. Really pleased with the colour and Scott did my cut which was superb. Really pleased and a great birthday present.

I had ruined my own hair attempting to get some bright green hair dye out, when I went to Bauhaus my hair was a horrible bleached white, yellow and green. I was told by the first person I saw that I might have to have a bit of my hair cut off due to the damage the bleaching might do. However I was then sent to the Bauhaus salon on The Friary and was seen by Tigerlily who removed the green and returned my hair to it's normal honey blonde with literally no damage. My hair is exactly how I wanted it and it's only a little dry, absolutely no damage at all. I was so relieved when I left as everybody had told me that I would end up with short hair and that achieving my old colour was impossible. As well as doing an amazing job on my hair all the staff at The Friary salon were very polite and friendly! Wonderful experience :)

I always get my hair cut by Adele, she is great at listening to what I want (which is usually the same thing - NO LAYERS) and always makes my hair look amazing, even if I just get a trim! She always takes her time when cutting my hair and checking in with me with what she is doing at all times so that I feel confident from start to finish.
