I've taken my toddler here since his 1st hair cut and the staff are great with him, making him feel comfortable and cutting his hair well. Sometimes there can be a longer wait but they're great and friendly so not surprising. Also open 7 days a week so really convenient. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve been to a fair few barbers in Derby, trying to find the perfect one. As soon as I found Sams Barbers I knew I had found the place! Friendly professional staff who are all extremely talented. They actually listen and understand what you want, and deliver to perfection every single time. If you are looking for a new barbers THIS IS THE PLACE. 5 STAR!

First visit. Josh cut my hair did a great job on a 4 all over and we had enough chatter without being close to annoying. Nice shop 4 barbers in shift at 12:45pm so the wait time was only a few minutes. Also only £7 for the cut on a Saturday. I didn't really want to rate it as I will be going here every time and I dint want it to get to busy but I think it might!

Yup these barbers definitely give us a professional (slang: profesh) cut n it's all under 11 pounds. Well at least it is for me. I can't really say that their better than other hair cutting Salon's cause this is the only place where I can get a lovely/awesome skin fade.

Had my hair done today by Mario, quality cut and a good beard trim, always a good atmosphere in this barbers especially on a Saturday morning. Never long to wait to get to the chair very reasonable prices !

First time here and wasn’t sure what to expect. First impressions were very poor, as I went in one of the barbers was leaving at the same time and didn’t say anything and couldn’t make eye contact. Didn’t have an appointment and there was one barber in there cutting someone’s hair at the time. He didn’t greet me or say anything or even acknowledge me! A simple ‘hi’ or ‘take a seat/I’ll be with you in a minute’ would’ve sufficed. There was no-one on the reception desk and the barber in there said nothing so I sat on a sofa by the reception in the hope that someone would acknowledge me rather than be treated like a ghost. After a small wait (I was the only other customer in there) the barber who’d passed me on the way in returned and asked me to come over. The barber asked what I wanted doing with my hair which was great, but then was silent the entire duration of the haircut until the end. Not even any small chat like asking me how I was or the weather, traffic etc. like you would expect. This is very strange and I’ve never been to a barbers where the staff talk to you as little as possible and won’t even attempt to strike conversation. Besides, the haircut was ok - maybe a little rushed as it normally takes around 40 mins and here it only took 10. One thing I immediately realised was that they didn’t put anything around my shoulders to stop the hair falling down my neck and into my clothes, which it did - a lot of it. This was particularly annoying as I spent the rest of the day constantly itching my back as I could not go home and shower straight away. Another thing that really annoyed me was after the cut had been finished, I was not offered any hair product at all. This meant I had to physically go and buy some hair product from a nearby shop and style it myself as it was at the start of my day! Once I’d paid and was leaving the barber did make eye contact and thanked me which was appreciated. Overall, I’d say if you’re looking for somewhere that will do a quick cut/ if you have a basic hairstyle that doesn’t require much attention this is the place for you. From looking at their website beforehand, they look like very friendly people and even though I only saw two staff members there, unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations from the way it was presented online. Sadly, the vibe I got from this place wasn’t great after being ignored at first, no effort from the barber to make conversation and the fact I felt the cut was rushed, no product offered and nothing to stop hair falling into clothes means I will look for an alternative place to go next time. That said, if you went at a different time and came into contact with different staff maybe the experience would be different which is why I’ve given 3 stars, but the fact that there was an equal number of staff to customers and my overall experience was below par made it all the more disappointing.
