I'm over the moon with my haircut. My hairstylist (Jessica) was so nice and she talked me through her thoughts for my hair which I appreciated. I have curly hair and I generally feel anxious about going for a hair cut but she assured me that we could do something lovely with my hair and we did. Jessica was also super chatty and made me feel at home while getting my haircut. She also recommended products to me afterward so I can more effectively look after my hair; which is amazing! Apart from that all the other staff were super nice and efficient and I've gotten so many compliments on my new hair, I'm in love. 10/10 would recommend...

I can not recommend Jess enough! After having multiple hair colouring disasters from various hairdressers when trying to achieve balayage i was very nervous about getting my hair coloured again before i discovered jess. Jess listened carefully to everything i had to say about my previous experiences and what i wanted to achieve with my hair before she explained the whole process to me ensuring i felt comfortable and relaxed before she went ahead which i did! The whole way through my time with jess she was very chatty, polite and caring, she made sure to keep checking i was happy throughout the whole process and comfortable. I was so amazed with the finished process, it was everything i had hoped for and more, the colour was amazing! When i went to book again with jess i was devastated when i seen she was no longer at the hairdressers i had found her at , i knew if i didn't find jess again i definitely wouldn't be able to carry on with colouring my hair because i would not trust anyone else to do my hair, so i searched for her on instagram and i found her at this hairdressers! Once again jess listened to me before starting to colour my hair and made sure i was happy and relaxed throughout and of course gave me the best colour, cut and blowdry just like i asked for. i can not speak highly enough of how professional jess is, Thank you so much!

I have been going to Amy for my gel manicures for years and cannot even consider going anywhere else. The girl is talented and can do any nail art requested and always has ideas when I don’t know what I want. I go every 3-4 weeks but the gel lasts past this time. She is friendly and ensures her station is always super clean with additional measures now in place. The salon on the whole is lovely, they have implemented procedures in the current environment to make you feel safe and you are made to always feel very welcome by all staff and owners on your arrival. Cannot recommend enough.

Great salon! Lovely people. Had a great experience with Emily. She did a fabulous keratin treatment which is a life saver and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to do this. Went back for a second time for a cut and she's done a great job. She gets me!!!

All the staff are so friendly and professional. I, at the moment only go for manicures with Amy. Amy is so professional and friendly and I absolutely love how wonderful she makes my nails look. The standard is always extremely high, and my gels stay looking great for at least 4 weeks. Can’t recommend a visit to Amy highly enough.

I've had a hair appointment with Vicki and I am absolutely in love with my new, post-lockdown haircut. I have long hair so it takes a while to cut and tame it, but Vicki has put lots of effort into perfecting my haircut and ensuring it matches exactly what I envisioned. She's an absolute professional and I could not recommend her enough! I will definitely be returning to the salon - the staff are very friendly and focused on making the visit a special experience.

Had the best experience in this hair salon ever 4 of us from Ireland arrived in Edinburgh for a few days and started our holiday with a wash cut and blow dry The atmosphere was fantastic in the salon and the owner even gave us all a glass or two of champagne what an amazing guy and a brilliant business man all the girls were lovely and made us feel welcome but we still talk about the owner/manager and the craic we had with him it was the highlight of our holiday and we will remember it for ever I would highly recommend this salon what a great way to start a holiday

Macintyre's is always a lovely and friendly atmosphere and in a perfect location in the heart of Edinburgh city centre. Always welcomed by very friendly and attentive staff with Government Procedures in place for the safety of their staff and clients. I have been a client of Stephanie’s for 21 years and I can honestly say I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my nails. Stephanie always goes above and beyond with outstanding attention to detail. Large array of nail colours on display and she’s always happy to recommend colours that would suit you, can’t forget to mention the great chats we have. I’d highly recommend this salon to anyone and worth more than '5 Stars'

There is nowhere else I would go to have my manicures done. I have been going to Amy for years and nothing is ever too much trouble. I regularly throw my crazy nail art ideas at her and she always does an outstanding job. That's not to mention her professionalism, warmth and friendliness. Her manicures always last a long time thanks to the great care she takes in her work. You could not ask for more! It's always a great welcome at Macintyres. The staff are always so welcoming and the genuinely make you feel like they are happy to see you. If I could give 10 stars instead of 5, I would!

Got my hair done with Alex and was amazed by results! Had a keratin and much needed hair cut in which she done a fab job. I love having long hair but she was able to tidy it up and give it more style as well as a silky smooth keratin. Everyone has been complimenting my hair since and I will defo be back! Lovely chat, coffee and hair cut what more could I want.

I got my hair cut on Saturday and I had a great experience. First of all, I called really last minute to get an appointment and explained that I’d be coming on my lunch break from work, I was given an appointment straight away and the man on the phone was very friendly and helpful. When I arrived Amy (who also cut my hair) took my coat straight away and offered me a drink. The decor is lovely, the atmosphere is great and all of the members of staff were smiley and inviting. Just what you want when you go to a salon! Amy made a fantastic job of cutting my hair and she done exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be back, I highly recommend this place.

I highly recommend a visit to the Macintyre's, it is well placed in the centre of Edinburgh, and a welcoming staff will greet you. I love to visit Amy at Macintyre's, she is friendly and works wonders with my nails, not an easy job. A manicure, cuticles tidied and gel applied, result a happy customer.

Had booked on treatwell before seeing any reviews on here so when I did check the google reviews just before my appointment I was so hesitant because of the 1 star nail reviews. However when I got there all the staff on reception were so lovely and I was taken upstairs straight away despite being 10 minutes early! I got acrylics done and the service was amazing, Stephanie is top class, really knows what she’s doing and pays a lot of attention to detail to make your nails exactly how you want them. On top of that she couldn’t have been nicer. Beautiful salon, couldn’t recommend more highly.

They're simply the best. The girls are all very thoughtful & helpful too. I've been going there for 10 years and had my hair & bridesmaids hair done there. They did it perfectly. Once or twice I've thought about change of style but have had a bit of uncertainty of managing it in me. When it comes to that they were really good and gave me advice of a similar style which is easy to manage. My hair is rather thick, but it's thinned down so well there that my mother-in-law didn't even believe me until I had to miss quite a few appointments making the thickness show up!

I get my nails done regularly by Amy the nail technician. She is an absolute artist, there isn’t anything she can’t do nailart wise. She is professional and always on time. If you want a good ole chin wag or a nice quiet appointment with minimal small talk, she is your gal. On to the salon itself, it is always clean and tidy and the other staff are so friendly and make you feel like part of the team. Given the apprehension with COVID 19 I would highly recommend using Mackintyre’s. Stations are cleaned after every use, thoroughly. Masks are worn throughout the appointment and hand sanitiser is available at the reception and at the beauty station. They really make you feel completely at ease. If you want the best of the best Mackintyres is the place to go!!

Welcoming and friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Was my first pedicure so not sure how that compares. As I booked the spa treatment I was kind of expecting a bit more in terms of foot massage. But end result is really nice. Wondering if 40£ is a bit steep, but as I said, no experience/ comparison.

Been there for shellac nails with Amy and hair colour with Alana. It's not cheap but you get good quality service and astonishing results. My shellac nails have lasted 1 month without a single chipping already and I have a pup who loves chewing my fingers.

MacIntyre's Hair & Beauty is a lovely friendly salon. I now go hear to have my nails done by the amazing Amy and love the welcoming atmosphere in the salon. Amy uses iGel which is absolutely amazing and always lasts, never chipping or peeling. The range of colours is fantastic and although I always go for my plain colours Amy does do amazing nail art. I'm looking forward to having my next gel pedicure and then my lashes and eyebrows for my holidays. Would highly recommend a visit to the salon.

This decor in this place is so pristine and pretty, exactly what you want to walk in to in a salon, 3 floors for customers! Hair first two floors and third floor for beauty treatments/nails. Would definitely recommend anyone to go here, staff were super nice and as I got the facial my face feels amazing and looks better too, great advice too for your specific needs.
