Absolutely amazing salon. Such friendly staff- especially Ashley. She is in training just now so I was a model for her. She did a fantastic job with my hair today. I’m really pleased. A spontaneous hair trip today for a cut and style with Sunnie at Myles for the first time and it’s made my day! Sunnie was so bubbly and chatty and made me feel so comfortable. She was great at explaining what she was doing and my cut feels amazing. Very good price also. I’m bouncing down the street with my curls feeling like a wee princess. Salon was such a nice clean and relaxing place and you can tell all the girls are experienced and like what they do. Been trying to find a salon to stick with for ages in Edinburgh and I think this may be the one. Going to go back in for some colour next :)) Thanks ladies!

I was recently a model for Ashley as she is currenly training. I was treated very well, she's really friendly and has done a fabulous job with my colour. It's not surprising she has recently been nominated for Junior Hair Stylist of the year.

Had an appointment cancelled last week with no further explanation, got only told that the hairdresser called the salon in the morning and took the rest of the week off. No further appointment on that day available so I asked for my deposit back. A manager was supposed to call me on that day to arrange for it. Unfortunately I didn't hear anything. Today I contacted the salon for the deposit back and was told that a manager has to do it, but she is busy all day. I asked for a call back before the manager is leaving for the day. I got the call as requested, got a good explanation of why the appointment was cancelled. I am now looking forward to get my hair done by Gemma 😉

This is the best salon I have ever visited. The girls are all so friendly and happy that it makes customers so comfortable and as a customers, I know this is very important as i personally have had a few bad experiences in other salons before which puts you off, but I have always felt completely at ease in Myles. Thanks to all the staff and keep up the excellent service you provide. Oh yeh, my daughter is so happy with her beautiful new hair colour 😍

Last night was my first visit to this salon and I cannot tell you what a great experience I had!! All the staff that I had interaction with were friendly and polite and very welcoming even under the current Pandemic conditions. I was temperature checked on arrival and hand sanitiser was available, PPE was used, all the staff were wearing masks and it felt very safe. My appointment was with Sunnie and even though I was 5 minutes early, I didn't have to wait. She was lovely!! We discussed what I wanted and she patiently explained everything she was going to do. Her work is meticulous and I can honestly say, this is the best haircut I have had in years and years!! I cannot recommend a visit here highly enough and I will definitely be returning! Thank you for a great haircut and really enjoyable visit :)

This is a lovely salon, Mia cut my hair and did a great job. She did exactly what was asked and didn't cut off anymore than I was comfortable with. She talked me through various products specifically for my hair type and for the issues I've been experiencing, she was also very pleasant, friendly and chatty throughout the appointment. The guy, unfortunately I didn't catch his name, that washed my hair was also incredibly friendly and a pleasure to speak to. Will definitely be back!

Never written a review before but had such a great experience at Myles I felt I should. Haven't had my hair cut in a few years so needless to say it was in dire need of some TLC! I initially booked online a week in advance but on the off chance they had space earlier I called at 5pm the day before and they managed to slot me in the next morning no issues. Salon was lovely, relaxed and all staff were friendly. John was absolutely fantastic, his experience really shows and I trusted his opinion on the best thing to do. My haircut was absolutely amaaazzzing, I'm still convinced John did some voodoo hair magic on it and I'm super pleased with the results. Am now walking round like I'm a Wella model. Would 100% recommend to my gals. Plus v. reasonably priced for the high level of expertise and service compared to other bigger salon names. Anyway, thanks John you were stellar and I'll be back in definitely less than two years this time!

I don't normally post reviews but felt I needed to after visiting Myles for the first time today. I had a cut and highlights done, my hair is very thick and naturally dark and I was looking to make my previous highlights look more blended in and natural. Tommy just joined the team at Myles and is an absolutely lovely person and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. My thick crazy hair has never looked better. He is very talented and has a genuine passion for his job that you don't see very often. Highly recommended

My 15 year old daughter got her hair done here last week, she initially wasn't happy with it but after speaking to the Manager & the owner, the issue was resolved very quickly and to my daughter's satisfaction. The customer service is first class here and the staff are very helpful and understanding. My daughter was a bit nervous and embarrassed to go back but the staff made her feel at ease straight away and she left the salon a VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER. Thank you to all the staff ;)

John is an absolute ninja artist. My hair really needed a resurrection and while I had an idea for how I wished it would look I wasn't very good at describing it and essentially just went for a cut and color magically hoping it would come back to life how I wanted. John did that and more than I could have hoped for! The color balance is natural and amazing, my hair looks healthier than it has all year. And he managed to really match it to my personality even though that's the first time I went in. Couldn't recommend him or this salon more. Thanks for putting my hair back to life and making it look alive and natural for my wedding John!!

I highly recommend this place. Very clean and friendly. I had an accident with my hair (too much coconut oil which was more like wax) and came here for help after other salons had turned me down. Gem was great and even stayed late to help me. She got some of it out there and then and gave me advice on what to do to next. The products she gave me (system professional) completed cleared the oil after a week and Gem booked me in again to check on my progress. She was really helpful and rescued my hair from being cut off. Thank you !!!!!! I will definitely be coming back.

I went to the Myles hair salon in Meadowbank to get a cut and style by Gary; all I needed was to get rid of split ends and a small bit of length, get my layers redone, and ensure the front sections were properly blending into the rest of the haircut – maintenance of the existent haircut, so to say. After initially leaving the salon somewhat happy, I saw my hair the next morning after a shower, and noticed it was in fact cut FAR shorter than what I had requested, to an awkward length and also unequally long on both sides, no layer had been cut, and the front sections weren’t appropriately trimmed and blended in with the rest. It was quite the surprise to me to be honest, because, before booking an appointment I had looked up the salon and the stylists’ work on Facebook and was happy with what I saw. So to come out with an entirely disappointing result was surprising and unexpected, to say the least. I called up a few days later to express my disappointment and received a call back from Joanne Myles herself, apologizing for the incident repeatedly, explaining this was not the usual standard of their service and offered me to go see one of their top stylists the next day to have all issues fixed for free. Needless to say, the next day I walked into the hair salon and was greeted by a bunch of friendly, chatty girls. I was introduced to Gemma, who again offered her apologies for the mishap and understand my worry that fixing the cut could mean far more length being taken off. After one of the girls washed my hair (relaxing), Gemma took her time to examine my cut and find the issues and explained each step necessary to fix them, continuously checking up with me that I was happy with all. Overall, it was simply comforting to see she listened to my requests and wishes and offered her advice and expertise to even improve the cut slightly. Although I was in only to get the cut fixed, she was happy enough to help me in finding a new look by bouncing ideas off me in concern to certain types of cuts, colouring, etc. I walked out extremely happy with what she made out of the ‘remains’ of my long hair and would recommend Gemma’s hairdressing skills. She’s a lovely, chirpy, bubbly, and all staff were very friendly. Thank you again to Joanna Myles for your understanding and service.

Jasper understood what I wanted. I am on tape hairdressers extension and normally I only trusted my hairdresser in London to do wash and blow dry. However, I think Jasper had done even better. Normally, with my massive hair extensions, hairdressers would describe my hair as their nightmare. But Jasper was patient and styled my hair the way i wanted. I will definitely come back to this salon if I am in town.

Today I saw Tommy and I have to praise him. Tommy is patient, has a vision, explains well and loves his work and the results show that... I would also praise him for a subtle sense of humour. Tommy delivers great results and understands what you want, and what results you wish to see practically, what works, regardless of how you may initially describe the cut you're after! He's a great person to look after you, and you're well looked after in his work.

The 3 stars review is for Tommy, the hairdresser and not the salon itself. This was the first and the last time I will be going to this place. The pain is not worth the proximity of the place. The hairdresser that I went to pulled my hair while shampooing, cutting and blow drying and so some of my hair was broken rather than cut. Although I specifically asked to cut 2 to 3 cm of my ends to get rid of my 1mm splits, I still find them after the cut.

Having had everything from a perm to blonde highlights, a crop from shoulder length and a full head highlights - and pretty much everything in between - from Jo and the crew at Myles, it is safe to say that I couldn't trust anyone else with my hair! I always get what I want, unless it's something the girls know I would regret - and thats half the beauty - they know my hair!! I alway recommend Myles if anyone asks me for a good hairdresser and have sent many happy customers that way over the years!! Keep up the good work and see you soon for a fringe I think!!!?

You might not expect to find a great hairdresser on Dalry Road, and as someone who has naturally terrible hair and is usually intimidated by immaculately coiffed hairdresser types I didn't have high hopes when I first tried this salon. But I love the girls at Myles - they are super friendly - and I'm always happy with my cut!

Great place, the staff are friendly and professional, I have been getting my hair cut there for years, as a man with short hair the blend is really important to me and they get it right every time, definitely recommend to anyone, lots of my friends also get their hair done there also. Thanks team.
