What a great salon 5* service. If you are looking for a mens salon that offers a little more than just a cut, you should definitely try this salon. They are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. At last a salon that offers higher end products and service for us men. I highly recommend The Players Lounge :). You won't be disappointed.

Excellent haircut and advice from my stylist, Lynne. Although a stylist may be more expensive on the face of it, a normal gents haircut would be 10 minutes for £15, that equates to £90 for an hour. Based on that, prices at The Players Lounge are very reasonable.

UPDATE: Entering my 10th year at the Players Lounge and still am happy with the style and skill of the stylists. I've moved away but still make a point to drop in when I'm in town. Lindsay never fails to remember how to cut my hair but always discusses before we start to ensure we're on the same page. It's great that she remembers but also very professional that she checks. My most recent haircut was a "fix" from a haircut I received from another place and she did a masterful job. I appreciate that the salon continues to invest in training and ensuring the stylists are compensated for their skills. 2018 I've been coming here for 6 years and I've never been disappointed with my haircut. Lindsay has been cutting my hair for 5 years now and she still takes care as if I'm a first time customer ensuring I'm happy with the haircut during and after. All the stylists are great as well and show the same level of care for their clients. Good atmosphere as well bright and clean and a wide range of appointment times. You won't be disappointed if you drop in or become a regular.

I have had my haircut here since moving to Edinburgh two years ago. For a gents salon the prices are on the expensive side, but the quality is excellent and you do get what you pay for. I have never left the Players Lounge with anything but an excellent haircut. Lynne is very professional, has great conversation and really knows what she is doing. I particularly like the advice on haircare, there is no push to buy their stocked products. When I pick a barbers I want a place that offers consistently good haircuts and the Players Lounge offer just that.

I was having trouble in finding a hairstylist in Edinburgh who can cut my long hair as majority are barbers or used to do female haircuts on long hair, which is very different in both style and texture of the hair than mens. I cannsay that Jen, one of the stylists from The Players Lounge has exceeded my expectations by executing a pretty difficult haircut and she did it very well. Everything was great about the service, I would have hiven a 5 star for the service all together, however, I had to take into consideration also the cost which is above most of the salons in the city. Of course, I assume that also the quality of the service is above, however, if they would have provided the same service for a similar or a more competitive price then I would have definitely gave a 5*. Happy all together and will definitely return.

Probably the best experience I've ever had. Staff are always friendly and although slightly pricey, worth every penny. As soon as you walk in the door, you're welcomed by the staff. You can sit and wait on the really comfy leather sofa where you can watch some TV and drink some tea/coffee before you go over to the chair to get started where you can talk through what you want with your stylist and get honest and friendly feedback and opinions. A brilliant experience that I look forward to every time.

The level of detail and care is second to none and so the results are always fantastic, much better than anywhere else I've been to. The salon itself is very pleasant and is good at running on time. Early evening appointments are available which make it easy to pop in after work. I would recommend this place for its excellent and friendly service.

I have been going to the Players Lounge for five years, with one exception. That one exception reminded me of the difference in service between a standard barbers and The Players Lounge. Susie, the owner, has created a welcoming environment, where you can genuinely relax and are safe in the confidence that both your experience and hair cut will be of the highest standard. I also like that the salon uses only the highest quality products, which contain natural ingredients. The loyalty scheme is not bad either. I usually go for a facial on the scheme, which is very relaxing and leaves my skin feeling great. If you haven't already, get yourself to the Players Lounge for your next hair cut guys. Been using this salon for the most part of the last 7 years and can't say I've ever had a cut that I've not been happy with. Staff are friendly and will generally chat away throughout the cut. It's towards the pricier range but I can't complain due to the quality of the results. Would recommend for anyone that's willing to put in a few extra quid for a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a damn good hair cut

Having arrived from Ireland early this morning I was in great need of a fade for the famous NYE Hogmany festival. I booked an appointment with Carla who really was very professional and friendly in everything she did while I was there. The hair cut I received was a high 0 fade with texture on top and it was a 10/10 job by her. A very friendly and skilled barber with a great future in the business! Would highly reccomend her and the shop for a chop!!

I've had the privilege to have a cut or colour by at least 4 of the ladies working here and have always been impressed. The consultations are thorough and they always make sure you leave happy. Upon Entry you are greeted quickly with a friendly smile and then begins a consultation to discuss options with books and staff who are genuinely interested, then you're pampering session really starts and does not finish until you leave. Selections of drinks on arrival aswell which is always a little bonus. Robyn has been my hairdresser from the very first appointment and have to say, she has been the best hairdresser I've ever had. This place is worth a visit and I wouldn't go anywhere else. 5stars!!

I love this place! It's about the experience for me, not just the hair styling. As soon as I come in I feel welcome and comfortable. Tea/coffee or soft drink/non-alcoholic beer from the mini fridge. Then relax in the big leather sofa. News24/Sky News on flatscreen TVs keeps me amused or there's the big style magazines to choose what you like the look of. Over to the chair and a chat about what I'd like and what could look good. Then a wash and scalp/head massage. Oh that massage. It's the best bit. How much is an Indian head massage? They seem to have been trained in that. I have tried two new styles with them and been very pleased with the results. The recent refurbishment is understated and smart. They even have a loyalty card with a free treatment after 5 haircuts - you don't get that other places!
