Before moving to Edinburgh, I had been going to the same barber for over five years. It's thus fair to say that the idea of finding a new hairdresser scared me a bit at first. However, the amazing atmosphere and the gentle and inquisitive, almost philosophical nature of Dave as a person made me trust him instantly. I am very happy, not only with my haircut, but also with the great conversations we've had. I couldn't recommend him more!

I was very nervous before the actually photo session and I very rarely like anyone taking photos of me in general. But, Dave spent some time with me before, making me feel at ease. During the shoot, he gave me gentle advice on how to pose and it made me feel way more relaxed. In the end the photos were great and it was a wonderful experience.

Untitled South is a comfortable and unique place with a brilliant mission. Firstly, Dave cuts hair extremely well. I have long hair and am very precious about where I get my haircut, and I trust Dave completely. My partner goes here too - and Dave does a brilliant job with men's hair as well. He's put so much effort and love into his shop, and is so passionate about using the space as a photography gallery out-with salon hours (which is amazing, often showcasing new photographers), and a meditation studio. He also encourages customers to bring food for his food bank, that he then distributes to those in need of it in the community. Don't hesitate to get your haircut here or even just pop in to chat to Dave.

I wish I could give 100 stars. David is the best hairdresser ever. He´s kind, sweet, very inspiring and very skilled. His little space is amazing - he uses it for all sorts of innovative and creative stuff. I've never rated a barber before, but perhaps that's because David is so much more than that. Don't get me wrong, the man knows how to cut your hair better than all the fancy stylists and hipster barbers you have ever visited put together. The fact that he is also a gentle, inquisitive soul, just trying to make his way in a world that has far too little time for people who don't fit into neat boxes, just makes him all the more worthwhile. If you want an average haircut and an awkward conversation about triviality, you have plenty of options; if you want a _good_ haircut and a conversation to make you reappraise your assumptions about life... then your options are slim; if you live on the Southside, just go to Untitled South, and support a true artist, who does a fair amount of philosophy on the side. Never sufferr through another meaningless conversation about ephemera again...
