I had a wonderful experience at this salon getting my curls cut. Jon has tonnes of experience with curly hair, talked me through everything he was doing as it isn’t a diva cut salon which I had previously been used to. He calmed any pre cut anxiety and I have never been happier with the end result! He also spoke through curly hair management and how to style my specific curls. Jon himself is a lovely lovely man and I will be definitely be going back here ☺️ See photos below for 1 before and 2 after pics

I was a model for Jess today and wow, she really understood the assignment! Jess listened to what I wanted, explained each step of the process and gave me her undivided attention. My hair is exactly what I wanted it to be. As a curly girl, I was pleased when Jess explained for about the salon’s expertise in curly hair whilst talking me through which products she had used and what they benefit would be to my hair. My hair looks and feels fantastic- thank you so much Jess! I was made to feel welcome as soon as I entered. I was a tad early and the waiting area is comfortable and clean with a good view of the open plan salon. Colouring is usually done downstairs- again presented very clean with a lovely decor and aesthetic throughout. I was very impressed with the products used during my service. Great salon with the staff to back it up. Will be returning to Jess for my maintenance ❤️

From the moment you walk into the salon you just know you're in good hands....or should I say your hair is in good hands. Jon and his team are always there to listen and offer advice and suggestions on hair cuts and care. The thing I like most about Jon Kinsey and his team is that they cut your hair in a style that suits your hair they listen to what you want to achieve and work with you to get the look you want but they'll also be honest and not create a style that won't work for your hair. I live 90 miles away from the salon but am prepared to travel as the results are worth it!

In my mid-40s, I have decided to give in and stop straightening my hair! Since starting to go gray, my hair has developed a strong wave/loose curl and I have been at a loss as to what to do with it. I came across this salon and after reading the reviews decided to give it a go. I'm so pleased I did! Sarah was great, she listened to what I thought I wanted and was able to advise on the best cut for my curly hair. She also explained what she was doing at each step so that I can look after my curls properly at home, I even learnt how to use the diffuser in a different way (thank you!) If you are new to curls (like me) or just want a really great cut and a lovely friendly salon, I would highly recommend this place!

I embraced my curls in lockdown so I sought a hairdresser with a curly hair specialist. I found Sarah at Jon Kinsey and she does not disappoint. She had taken me through my curly girl journey to transition from damaged, constantly straightened hair to a head of beautiful bouncy curls with style and edge. As a curly girl I have spent years hating going to the hairdressers and, I can honestly say, this salon has changed my life. With Harriet in charge of my colour - going lighter to let the grey through - and Sarah on my cut, I am finally happy with my curls and my identity as a curly girl. I just wish I'd discovered this place sooner. As you can see I cannot recommend this salon highly enough and actually take recommend-a-friend cards with me everywhere for when I get compliments on my hair, as I often do. Gary is a miracle worker. He's the only stylist who has the skill to work with my fine, thin, brittle hair and make it look pretty damn good. I have absolute confidence in him. Everyone in the Salon is friendly and professional. Can't recommend this place enough.

A real gem of a Salon, here you will get very experienced professionals who will not let you leave in a state. Just because it’s trendy doesn’t mean it will suit you. When I first found this place I had been to one of the Instagram worthy salons. My hair was frazzled, patchy colour and terrible style and condition. Between Jon and Mark they nursed it back to some life. It took a while, it must be two years on that I have the most healthy hair I’ve had since I don’t remember when. My hair is wiry and natural curly, frizzy. Jon has cut my hair to suit wearing both straight and curly. Teaching me a bunch of techniques to do at home to look good too. Lovely greetings at reception and the colour I have now compliments my face.

Having recently moved to the area I saw reviews for Jon Kinsey Hairdressing that said they are curly/wavy/texture specialists. I called up to make an appointment and the woman who answered was so lovely. She not only made my appointment with Tracey after offering me a couple of options but she even suggested where to park which was really helpful. I arrived and was greeted and a coffee offered and gratefully accepted. Tracey joined me and gave me such a thorough consultation. She really listened to what I wanted to achieve and was really knowledgeable and professional. My shampoo was done by a lovely assistant who gave a great massage with lovely smelling products. Tracey then proceeded to transform my dreadful lockdown frizz into a smooth sleek cut I can really work with. She explained the cut and asked me all along the way where to go and discussed the importance of angles when cutting wavy/curly hair like mine (although I like to have the option to wear it straight too and Tracey totally got that). She answered all my questions and was just a thoroughly nice person. Her next client had arrived so my payment was taken by Jon Kinsey himself who was so chatty and friendly and we talked about caring for textured hair and he gave me loads of tips and advice and even sent me off with a few samples of products to try with no pressure to buy anything. All in all i recommend this salon to anyone. Whilst there i saw naturally curly hair being cut curl by curl and diffused upside down which i have never seen before in a salon! Really lovely to experience a salon that really respects naturally textured hair, but that doesn't demand extortionate £££ to do it. My experience was amazing, great value and I cant wait for my next appointment in 10 weeks! 5*!

I've been visiting Jon and Mark for cut and colour for over 5 years and am always extremely pleased with the service received. I've got curly hair and Jon is really knowledgeable about what will and won't work, and has provided lots of tips about how to style it myself, which have made a real difference to how my hair looks and feels. I've not always been a fan of getting my hair cut in the past but look forward to my visits to Jon Kinsey every time!

Hands down the best hairdresser I have ever been to. I've recently gone back to my curls after years of straightening my hair. After a little bit of research this salon came up and I'm so glad I went to them. Jon cut my hair and I can't recommend him highly enough. He is really frienly and instantly makes you feel at ease. He took his time to explain everything to me and cut my hair according to how it needs cutting talking me through how to style it and what product to use. He was extremely knowledgeable and really understood how to get the best out of my curly hair. It's the first time I've ever had my hair cut and instantly loved it. I was considering going to back to straightening my hair as I couldn't get my curls to work for me but after my cut and the styling advise he has given me I'll definitely be sticking to the curls. Even if you have straight hair I would still recommend as all the staff are really welcoming and friendly and the salon has as such a lovely relaxed vibe.

Jon and Marc are just amazing. I had spent years looking for someone to be able to colour and cut my hair in the way I want it, to listen to my ideas but also be able to exercise professional judgement as to what is actually possible. Jon Kinsey is the closest I've come to the perfect hairdresser! I would thoroughly recommend. The salon is lovely as well, a very relaxing place to spend a few hours and all the staff are very welcoming.

Very good. Overall very professional. Had a really nice head massage and a good hair cut considering I hadn't had it cut in months. Everything nice, clean and safe. Everybody was very friendly. Would say some safety procedures slightly over the top like putting your coat in a bag. Also no waiting area could be problematic in winter. Obviously couldn't cut beard due to restrictions but I still paid £35. Difficult to review this one but still a really, really good place just a pity this was my first visit in covid era, I miss the hot drink in salons too. Maybe can use reusable drink cups in future. Would love to give five star but have to be honest and transparent with my opinion as this is how I feel. This is still a good review of the place of course. I will certainly be returning though as its a top quality place but maybe post covid where I can get full experience of this amazing place. Thank you for everything and see you again

Always happy with my experience at Jon Kinsey. My stylist Louise is fab at colouring, cutting and styling. She's been so supportive as my hair really suffered during my pregnancies and then my recent cancer diagnosis. Jon still does a full consultation every month and I always get an amazing hair style that looks top notch and lasts brilliantly - and people notice how well its cut as well. I have been getting my hair cut by Becky for years now she is fantastic, I absolutely love going to Jon Kinsey, everyone is so professional and friendly and the environment is very welcoming. I am a regular as I have short hair and need to get it coloured by Mark and cut by Becky at least every five weeks. I would thoroughly recommend it. Becky is now on maternity leave so Jon is cutting my hair - normally I would feel really uneasy about a new hairdresser but this was not the case at all, in fact it was like he'd been doing it for years too. Since I moved back to Leeds from Harrogate 8 years ago I have been trying to find a good local hairdresser. In early December 2014 I popped into Jon Kinsey to get a price list and was introduced to stylist Louise. I had an on the spot consultation and was very impressed with her knowledge and felt that she really understood what I wanted, Louise was also very friendly and welcoming. The next week I went for my first appointment and was delighted with the results. Everyone at the salon is very nice, you get a head massage during your shampoo, as many cups of tea or coffee as you can drink and I even take my lunch with me. Louise has transformed my hair, the colour and cut are wonderful and the condition has really improved with products recommended by her. Cannot speak highly enough of her. Only wish I had found Jon Kinsey many years ago. Keep up the good work Louise, you are a star.

Jon Kinsey Salon is a lovely Hairdressing Salon filled with a down to earth & friendly yet very professional hairdressing team. It is a relaxed and comfortable environment and based in a great location with parking facilities! After a whole lifetime of searching for someone who can REALLY ... I mean REALLY cut naturally curly hair I found Tracie. I have huge long naturally curly hair and was so sick of people saying they were curl experts when they clearly didn't have a clue (the second they start washing a combing with a fine tooth comb you know its BAD) So at my appointment with Tracie I sat down, she had a good look, look at some photos i brought with me and said "I think i should cut your hair dry"...... at which point i knew SHE WAS THE ONE!! ..... my hair looks amazing, better than it has ever looked - Thank you !!!!
