I've been getting my hair cut and coloured by Daisy for almost 2 years now and she never disappoints! I'm always changing my mind on what hair colour transformation i want next but Daisy will always put the health and condition of my hair first and tell me off if needed (lol) - she knows whats best!! Never disappointed when I walk out of my appointment with Daisy, love her energy and her service!!💗

Been coming to Barrie Stephen since moving to Leicester in 2020 and I’ve always enjoyed each visit. I’d like give the absolute biggest praise possible to Leah and Sophia who worked a miracle on my hair last month to bring it back to life. I went in for another colour appointment today because of feeling like the tones had faded (nobody’s fault but my own - I didn’t the right shampoos to begin with!). Today, Leah and Tina talked me through what they could do for me. Leah softened the tones, as it had lightened and she did a fringe cut. I also got a complimentary blow dry which was lovely! 10/10, 5* and all that positive jazz to you all!!

After a recommendation, I booked in at Barrie Stephen Hair Anstey and wouldn’t go anywhere else again. Liv has worked absolute wonders with my hair and continues to do so, she’s amazing! Every time I walk away from the salon (every 6 weeks), my hair feels super healthy and looks absolutely fabulous! Every member of staff are warmly welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. My husband also visits Barrie in the Anstey salon, to have his hair cut on a regular basis and speak very highly of Barrie and the service he receives.

I’ve been coming to Barrie Stephen since I was 17, so around 5 years. I’ve visited 4 of the salons. I originally went to get my hair from a box dye purple to blonde, which King Street were able to do healthily in one day!! I’ve been going ever since and they’ve always been amazing. I’ve had different requests; lighter blonde, pink, darker blonde etc and they’ve always informed me of any concerns and done their best to get me what I want. There was one time that I had left the salon and upon getting home realised that the toner was much darker than I had hoped for, I emailed the salon and they got me in the next day(!!!!) to fix it for me before going on my 2 month trip to Australia. Their customer service is amazing, I no longer live in Leicester but still travel to a Barrie salon as I wouldn’t ever imagine going anywhere else. Sophie in Anstey and Deanna in Ashby are my favourite stylists and are so amazing at what they do!

Lea at King St is an absolute gem! In my 40's and never had my hair dyed before. I went in for a pre-consultation and Lea and Daisy were super friendly and helpful to select and recommend a shade for my Asian skintone. On the actual day I was extremely anxious because it was first time for hair dying, but Lea was optimistic, confident and very friendly. The Italian Sens.us dye used on my hair is fab as no PPD chemical in it. It was not itchy or smelly. Thanks also to Barrie and the other King St staff who also came over to speak to me every few mins to see if I was ok and made me feel relaxed. I love my new hair colour and cut! Super-Fab experience and can't wait for the next!

Thank you so much Sofia! I walked into the Anstey salon without high expectations after receiving a very poor set of highlights elsewhere weeks earlier which were making me miserable. I felt nothing but confidence in her from the off set after a very detailed consultation I underwent an incredible colour correction which left me with the best hair I’ve seen in a very long time. I showed my hairdresser Daisy a photo I loved of a balayage that was done in this salon, she noticed my hair wouldn’t come out the way I hoped with a balayage, explained it to me perfectly and told me another method to get the result I was looking for, and I have never been happier. 100% recommend. I also had Leah doing a few treatments on my hair and both Daisy and Leah where both so kind, chatty and just made the 4.5 hours fly by, lovely experience

The first time I went to the salon in February I loved it, I had Daisy and she went through everything with me before and during the process, we looked at the colour book and different tones I could do and would suit me, she talked about the different products and how they would help my hair, she also allowed me to explain how I wanted my hair cut. She took her time with my balayage and it was evident through the results, it was probably the cleanest, most blended balayage ever, She was the reason I went back to the salon for the second time. However, this time I had Vitalija, and honestly I was not impressed, she did not go through shades or tones that I could consider, rather she chose herself and she cut off way too much hair for my liking (I know how slow my hair grows therefore,I know how much I would like off), and styled it how she felt fit (I have so many short layers in the front around my face that makes my hair look even shorter) not considering or asking what I wanted. I enjoy the salon as a whole, the environment, the staff, but I feel disappointed with yesterday’s appointment.

Decided to try the Barbers Lounge experience after hearing good things from others and I must say I wasn't disappointed... What you get is the skill, time and craftsmanship of a salon in the Barbers shop environment; I'm 100% sold on the concept. I had my hair cut by Michael and I couldn't be happier. He listened to what I wanted and made suggestions of his own, made sure I was comfortable with what he planned to do and when we were finished did a great job of styling my hair. Not present was the usual hard sell of products that some salons seem to do, just friendly staff who seem genuinely interested in the craft and are clearly passionate about their work. Highly recommended. Far better than some £40 haircuts I've had.

Guys let me tell me you, if anyone can fix your hair disaster, it’s Scott from the King street salon!! I have never met anyone so knowledgeable and dedicated. He made me feel completely at ease, even though I was sat their in tears after my hair coloured wrong. I didn’t think it was fixable but he did it! In fact it was what I wanted from the start and he somehow managed to do it. He explained everything, reassured me throughout and made my whole experience amazing. He has an absolute hair god!!! I will never go anywhere else. Thank you so much for your hard work Scott. I couldn’t have asked for more!!

My first visit was great and the consultant was brilliant, she asked all the right questions before cutting my hair and gave me great tips for looking after my curls at home too. Having had such a good experience, I made another appointment for colouring, which was also done by the consultant, but the finish was done by another lady who has obviously never touched curly hair in her life. She yanked at it, pulled chunks out and kept making innappropriate comments like "wow it's so wild and crazy". She was so aggressive I'm surprised I had hair left. Honestly I spent almost an hour trying not to cry while she gradually loosened my scalp from my head, and puffed out my hair so much I had to tie it back just to get in my car afterwards. I was so upset because my first appointment was so good and I left with a nice sleek haircut, the second one I was made to feel like a lion in a zoo with an untamable mane. My scalp isn't ready to return, but I definitely recommend paying extra for an appointment with the consultant for anyone with super curly hair.

I've been a client for 10 years, and unfortunately, I'm not going to go back. The results I get are just way too variable. The last time I went, I loved how my hair turned out . Sadly, the stylist who did it left the salon and a new one was recommended. I was assured my notes were on file and that the person was highly skilled. As my hair began to dry, I realised it looked nothing like the last time. I had asked for my hair to be bright, like the last time. Instead, it looks dull, brown, not blonde, like I had asked for. I asked the stylist, didn't you use the notes? He said, "yes but I had to interpret them". Wow. So much for assurances I got that all would be fine based on the notes. In short, I hate my hair. It's a nasty mousey dull brown colour. It's not at all want I wanted -- or need! I'm a professional woman for goodness sakes. My hair looks demurring. I'm not going back to Barrie Stephen again. I'd give yesterday's visit a one star. My rating above is their 10 year average for me.

I went to this hair salon almost a week ago because I wanted to do something with my hair that had been a bit destroyed after I went to another salon. I went to the salon first to have some advices and Daisy take care of me. We sat for almost 30 minutes and talking about what I am looking for my hair, what colors and which product to use. I really liked this time that helped me to express what I want (as I am not fluent in English, I really appreciate that she took that time for me). I went back to the salon two days later and Daisy really did an amazing job ! She literally saved my hair from a yellow/brown color to a very nice and natural blonde. I've show her a picture of what color I wanted and she literally made my hair from that same color. She really took a lot of time for my hair and it really worth it, I love it! I spend a very nice time there, everybody was very nice to me. I also wanted to say thank you to Rose that was very nice. Thank you so much again, I will come back for sure !

My regular spot for a haircut. While it is a higher than average price its completely worth it for the results. I always go for a haircut and beard trim l in the barber shop upstairs and I have never walked away disapointed. Book far in advanced as getting an appointment is usually 3 days notice or so. The service is spot on offering free coffees and some drinks (i think they serve beer not sure though).

Had a colour and style by Brian yesterday, and I am absolutely thrilled! Not only was he a lovely stylist, so easy to talk to and I felt that the conversation we had never dulled, but he is also incredibly talented when it comes to hair. Not once did I feel nervous that he was going to mess up my hair as he always seemed to know what he was doing, which I admit gave me a huge confidence in him. I was worried about my hair going orangey blonde as it has a couple times before when I have tried to dye it, but my hair turned out a lovely ashy, sandy blonde and I am in love with it! Highly reccommend Barrie Stephen to anyone, and especially the stylist Brian! Definitely will go back sometime soon.
