I’ve been going to this place for quite a while now, probably a year. I have to say, every haircut I’ve had from the gentry is of exceptional quality. The barber I go with, Jay, is brilliant to talk to, got a great sense of humour and his ability in hairdressing is utmost impressive. For those that go here often but choose another barber, I suggest bringing your interest towards Jay as like I said, his skills are fantastic. And for those that are looking of trying this place out for the first time. DO IT! You will not be disappointed, I can ensure you with this as I never have, within the year I have been going here, had a bad haircut.

First time visiting. Booked in to see 'Tom' for a cut and beard trim. Timekeeping wasn't his strongest suit, but aside from being a lovely guy he's also extremely good at what he does. He pays attention to the little details, explains some of the reasons behind his methods (e.g. why he uses a cutthroat razor), and honestly the end results more than justify spending that little bit longer and that little bit more money. Fantastic service, will ask for him again!

Had my hair cut by a fella named Will. He asked what I wanted and delivered exactly that, checking in as he went to make sure I was satisfied at each step of the process. He clearly had a keen eye for the details and remained focused on the cut. At no point did I feel I was receiving less than 100% of his attention. Styled just as well at the end and great chat maintained throughout, without wavering on the trim at hand. Excellent service and I will definitely be booking with him again soon. Thanks again.

My regular barber cancelled so I decided to give these guys a try. I was a little worried with a name like The Gentry that this place might be a bit pretentious, but that concern was unfounded. The staff were very welcoming, offering me a coffee almost as soon as I came through the door and getting me seated quickly despite me arriving a little early for my appointment. Jay listened to what I wanted (or, more accurately, how I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted!) and left me with a cut that I was genuinely happy with, which is quite rare for me.

Thought I'd try this a couple of months ago. Turns out it was the right decision. This Covid malarkey is making everything a bit impersonal but the team in the Gentry were very good. Still following all the guidelines but still gave me a great haircutting experience. My new regular barbers. Nathan is a top man! Update 16/08/22: Not been in here for a while but thought it was time for a proper hair cut for a change. Will was a top man and very professional when dealing with an older gentleman who probably isn't going to need a barber in a few months!! 😂. Excellent haircut, excellent service. Still 5*s.

I’ve just moved to Lincoln and also managed to grow out 2 years worth of home DIY ‘covid’ cuts, so needed a professional to sort out my mop but didn’t know where to go, being new to the area. I had only had 2 or 3 hairdressers in my whole life before this so I was incredibly nervous about going somewhere new. This was the most amazing hair cut I have ever had. Nathan made me feel like I’d had real care and attention put into my cut. He advised expertly about where the lines should be and where the regrowth and weight would be. The haircut held its shape for a good few weeks as well when usually a fade on my hair would only last a couple of days. I haven’t stopped telling people about this place since I left and I absolutely cannot wait to get back in that chair next week.

If you’d like a professional, clean, and polite job. I would not be lying if I said I recommend Lewis. I’m not brilliant with all the barber lingo. But I’m new to the area and think I’ve found my go to place already! Already booked in with Lewis for a months time. He got through my clueless explanation of what I wanted, then fixed things I didn’t know I wanted fixed. Plus, he was more than accommodating. I’d walked in with a mask on my face, he asked if I would be more comfortable if he did as well. A genuine gent.

Take a chance with George the trainee! He slotted me in for a walk in, very professional Guy and he produced one of the best cuts iv had in years. He took his time but that's fine because I know he was putting lots of detail in. He made great suggestions to improve my trim along the way and was just generally a really friendly guy. My only complaint would be he didn't offer to put any product in my hair, which was a problem on a windy day. For £10 I couldn't be more impressed.
