C. B.I've been going to Alma at Basecuts Islington for my hair (and my kids' hair!) for almost five years. The salon is clean, the staff are friendly and super accommodating, and I always leave feeling a million bucks. Alma is fantastic at her craft and utterly lovely to boot. The kids adore her too. Highly recommend.

I. S.Debbie has been cutting my hair for about 30 years. Supremely competent (I get compliments on my haircuts), intelligent, insightful, humorous and full of commonsense, I go as much for the conversation as the haircuts. The receptionist is always welcoming and the juniors sweet and friendly. I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere.

D.Alma has been my hairdresser for over 15 years she is amaizing always giving me the best colour advice on what would be right for me and is always spot on ! Alma’s blowdrys last me for ages and my hair is not the easiest to do with my natural curls ! I would recommend alma to anyone who wants a new colour cut and blow dry they will come out feeling great 😊

L. R.I have very long and thick hair, which usually takes 5-6 hours or more when getting highlights, sometimes even without a cut. I told Charlotte how much I would love not to sit in the chair all day and she got it done in under 3 hours (highlights plus cut), an all-time record for me. I often put off going to the hairdresser for this reason but will definitely be back now. On top of the speed my hair looks amazing, and the cut was great value (half as much as you would pay at e.g. the Chapel). Also everyone was really friendly and I didn't get lectured about the state of my hair (a frequent experience for me at hair salons). 10/10, new favourite hair salon.

I have difficult thick hair and was slightly concerned I wasn’t going to get the quality cut I needed, but took a gamble as they had an opening and an offer for £39. I was very happy with the cut from Sydney. My hair came out soft, luxurious and most importantly for me, manageable. Will definitely be returning as a regular customer.

She is the only person in the world I would trust with my hair and I trust her advice and experience whenever I am looking for a style change. I just tell her what I've got in mind and leave her to it. Never been disappointed. She's so personable as well and I love our chats. Don't live/work near salon anymore and it takes me over an hour to get there every time but I won't go elsewhere. Please don't retire! 🙂

p. c.I have been with hairdresser Yi over the last 10 years. He is nice, reliable. He always respect my own ideas and discussed with me before we go ahead with the cutting. He will accommodate both Chinese and English style. I have and I would strongly recommend him to all my friends in London. The overall atmosphere in the shop is very relax, the staff there are all nice, they will serve you with food and water if there is a waiting time. Remember to call them up to schedule in case there is busy time!

He's just so lovely...very kind as well as being technically brilliant. I have honestly never walked out unhappy with my very difficult hair and it has always been a great experience.
