I had my hair cut by Joe about a month ago, and I’m still so in love with it. He cut and styled a bob for me and the service he provided was amazing. The whole time I was there i felt relaxed and comfortable as the style was a bit of a change for me but Joe made me feel confident about it from the get go! 10 out 10 from me!

Went in as haircut model for Lauren. What a truly kind human being she is too. Very good with her cutting and styling skills. Excellent attention to detail. Very good listener. Gave some good advice too: brutal and honest but very diplomatic lol. Good on you girl. You are going to go far. To top it all she has only been cutting for two years! Joe did such a great job with my messy curly hair! I'm usually worried when I first try out a salon but he asked me specific questions and used natural products to make my hair look and feel great. I've never been great at styling my own hair so I am really happy I have found a stylist I can rely on and a hairstyle that makes me feel great about myself. I've had Alfie colour my hair twice now and its the best experience I've had getting my hair done. Not only is he super knowelegable, knows what he's doing but he is also great craic! Alfie will really listen to what you want and make sure you leave the place feeling happy and confident. My hair was destroyed when I went to him last (not done by him) and I had no idea how to fix it. Alfie was able to suggest a really nice idea and I came out feeling fab. The best there is!

Chelsey did a fantastic job on my coarse, naturally very wavy hair. During lockdown, like so many others, I made the mistake of cutting my own hair, and so it had grown into a large, very uneven triangle. Without a moment of judgment or hesitation, Chelsey knew exactly what to do both to correct my mistakes, but also to restore shape and movement to my hair. I will never again ignore the value of a professional, and I’m glad that she is who reminded me of that! The salon is also very welcoming, with a focus on sustainability and organic products.

Had my hair cut by daisy which I absolutely love. My long hair looked so flat and had a bit of breakage after a perm, she was able to give me shape and volume and my hair looked better instantly. Love my short style revamp from Ioanni, a truly superb artist for short styles. Never had such a comfortable seat in a back-wash. No more neck ache! Lovely fresh scents in the products used too. The Clapton salon has a mellow and relaxed atmosphere. Vintage, Up-cycled meets industrial chic interior. Exposed timber and brick with pendant industrial style lamps. Bright and airy inside Client mirrors are quirkily arranged by teaming them with distressed doors makes you feel a little like the Monsters inc factory, but I gotta say, I like it.

I asked for a difficult hair dye but that didn't deter Areeb and she did an absolutely amazing job (even though it took a very long time!). Cannot give enough praise - would recommend to anyone!

Silja is a brilliant stylist, I used to have my hair cut and highlighted with her at the Peckham branch and decided to continue having my hair styled with her at Clapton as she is brilliant and I really trust her with my hair. My hair is thick, curly and dry, but with her styling she has helped me to keep it healthy and bright, whilst maintaining the length. This has made it a lot more manageable day to day also! She listens to what you want and always does a beautiful job. The salon is relaxing and all the staff are very friendly. 10/10

Blerina listened to what colour I wanted and kindly helped me through the options and I was over the moon with the final result! Lovely salon and friendly staff. It has relaxed vibes, and enough space without feeling crammed between other people. However haircuts has been a hit and miss. I used the same stylist twice, the first haircut he listen and gave me what I wanted and the style lasted for 3 months. The most recent experience during consultation I specifically said I was only after a trim and tidy up. I had perfectly one length hair that wasn't too damaged, but somehow came out with an undercut lob and 1.5 inches of hair chopped off.

I was there for 4 hours, but the service was excellent and I never felt rushed or in the way. It was way more than I have paid before, but you really do get what you pay for - and then some! Very nice atelier. I was used to go in Brixton but my trustful hairstylist now is in Australia, so I decided to give it a go to the Clapton one. I am so so happy!! Luigi for the color is very precise, he knows what he does and he checks on you thoroughly and Imogen for the cut, astonishing she perfectly understood me and the result, perfect! Strongly recommended. A bit too expensive (every time I do the same things and is always getting more expensive then the previous time...) but it’s worth it.

oops - i accidentally posted this on the dalston page so reposting here: I had my hair cut last weekend by a lovely lady called Daisy. I normally hate going to the hairdressers, the whole thing of sitting staring at yourself in a mirror with the inevitable boring, stilted conversations with the stylist. I responded to an ad asking for hair models for training and thought for a tenner what's the worst that can happen. I took in a few pics for reference and she was bloody brilliant. She was really friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable from the outset. I was worried I would get an 'old lady' do as I was going 'short short' but I ended up with one of the best haircuts Ive ever had. The salon had a relaxed, laid back feel to it (not too trendy or stuffy) and I actually enjoyed having my hair done (which is a first). I wouldn't hesistate in recommending Daisy and Ill certainly be going back. Thanks Daisy!!!... ps: update: someone stopped me on the street this afternoon to compliment me on my hair - that never happens! Yay!

I got highlights done at the academy. I called before going in for a allergy test, and was told by someone on the phone that the cost would be free or £25 by the student trainee (with confusion). However by the time I came up to the receptionist and had my hair done, she asked me to pay £62. There was definitely confusion, the receptionist was sort of condescending and knew little of how the academy works presumably she’s more comfortable with the salon side. More importantly I came in at 1pm and didn’t leave until 6:30, which is a long stretch by any standard. I have gotten my hair done before at aveda salons with students and took MUCH less time and a standard £25 to cover the cost of products. If I were to pay £60, I expect it to be done around 3 hours and a half tops. I was happy with the results but it was so slow and the price is ridiculous for a student training session. I will not return.

Went here to go from ginger to blonde - initially I wasn't booked in for the correct amount of time needed to do this after having spoken to the receptionist and having emailed prior to making my appointment, HOWEVER! Harriet and her assistant, Rumor (sorry if I spelt that wrong) were brilliant. They made the time to give me as much one on one as they could, and even though I was there for a total of 5 hours, the time flew. Both ladies are really welcoming and sweet, not to meant ion very chatty and funny. It was more like having your hair done at your mates house than going to a salon. The salon itself is really cool - has a well loved, slightly worn look to it which fits in perfectly with the Hackney areas vibe. They have great tea and coffee, and beer and wine for those of you (me) who like a little drink while you wait for your hair to be done. I left super happy with my colour - grey blonde with baby blue roots - and keep getting tons of compliments on it! Definitely get yourself down here if you're looking for a cool kid make over.
