I’ve always had great cuts at Chaps & Dames, and have been to a number of their stylists. They really care about hair, and their customers. They work with you and recommend what would work best, what would look good, and put the time in to get good results. It’s always entertaining, big shout out to Vee, Paul, Ediz, Gerald and Theo! I’d go to any of them again (and do keep on going back!)

Love love love my haircut (by Vee). I explained what I wanted, showed a picture to give her an idea of the shape, length etc and my hair came out better than would've imagined. The work she put in have me the sense that she took pride in her work. I'm honestly gushing over this hair cut because I have the thin type of hair that sticks to your head and holds no volume and walked out of there looking like I had double the hair. And, the thing I love most is that after I washed it and dried it myself, it looks just as awesome, so not one of those hair cuts that only looks great when styled by someone else! And vee was lovely and friendly! Definitely recommend!

So I have very curly hair and I only started my curly hair journey about 2years ago and had no idea what hair cuts would suit my curls. Vee did an absolutely amazing job, even when I was apprehensive she was so sweet and made me feel confident in going for a bolder look. She knew exactly what I wanted and even took into account that I had not used any sort of heat in my hair in a year and a half and did not use any heat. My hair has never looked better, definitely going back to get my hair cut by Vee!!! So happy to have found my new go to place!!

I highly recommend you to use Chaps & Dames as it is such a friendly salon! I had my hair done by Theo and I must say I haven't been that happy with my cut and colour in years. With the little I told him about what I want (basically pretty much nothing as I wasn't sure!), he totally got me - from the cut to the colour! And the almond brittle with the tea I got there was just the cherry on the cake :) I'm definitely going back.

I really love this place, cool vibe. What I like the most is the amazing and talented Theo! I like his sensibility and his perfectionism to cut my hair. I have short hair and the way how he cuts them, the haircut last really well (2-3 months) and it s really a feminine style. He is so talented as well to bleach my hair, the colour is absolutely beautiful every time. I can only recommend his services! He is THE BEST hairdresser I ever had!

I've never loved a haircut so much in all my 24 years! Multiple people said I looked like a filmstar! And she is amazing to chat with – I had such a lovely conversation with her about astrology and she read my star chart for me which was a really special and exciting experience! I love the hair cut so much chaps and dames is definitely a diamond in the rough a good find and I would highly recommend anyone to go there if you want crazy colours in your hair if there was more then 5 stars I would give it more then 5 stars.

Amazing experience at the Finsbury Park branch - second time coming and the staff are always so lovely and accommodating! Came in initially to do a consultation, but ended up wanting to do a last minute haircut and styling. Vee was very kind enough to do the service for me, despite having a booked up schedule! Vee cut and styled my hair. She immediately understood my type of hair without me having to explain . It’s long and fine but looks thick because it has a frizz to it so it needs to be cut well in order to look good without having to use hair straighteners or lots of products. Five days later and I’m still so pleased with the cut, the layers work really well to shape my hair and not let it frizz out. Really happy! Vee is super friendly, down to earth, funny & professional. Highly recommend !

I had a full set of highlights done by Vee. She was very nice and welcoming and I am super happy with the colour of my hair! She spent time showing me what type of colour each toner would result in and let me choose which one I liked. My hair was quite damaged before going in so I was quite nervous about getting too much cut off. However, i'm really glad with how it was cut, my hair now feels super healthy and shiny. I would definitely recommend getting the olaplex treatment if your hair needs some extra love.

Great service today. I'd had my hair done by the same person for years so was a little nervous trying somewhere new but I'm so happy with the results. I am not at my most comfortable getting my hair styled, however everyone was warm and welcoming. I had my hair styled by Rachel, who put me at ease and made sure that I was happy with the style we discussed. A week later I came back to have my hair bleached and coloured, again by Rachel. A good haircut can make all the difference in your self confidence, and right now I feel just a little bit taller. I would recommend Chaps & Dames without reservation, thank you.

I came in for a colour appointment - the stylist I was booked in for had run out of time so apprentice Natalie stepped in to help out on her day off. At first the colour looked slightly darker than I had wanted but after a few washes the colour is spot on (the salon team advised me this would be the case), and my hair feels in great condition after the treatment. Good experience and I’m really happy with the result. Natalie’s passion and enthusiasm for her job really shows.

Since I visited Chaps&Dames few month ago at first time,I knew I'll go to the studio always.My style was made by Theo, and I'm so happy how he cares for my hair .He is just genius.My son (he is just 11 yrs ),after last visit with Theo,he told me he will never come to different stylist,he likes the Chaps&Dames Studio,the atmosphere is amazing.My son is very demanding and if he is happy,does mean this is really something. And so I am ,my hair after strong bleaching few months ago still looks fresh and healthy.Well done Theo. And also other stylist working there are fabulous,I saw their work and I'm impressed.

I absolutely love this place! I found this fab place a little over 5 years ago and would never go anywhere else. Usually have my hair cut by Paul Fedricci who is a well experienced and fantastic hair stylist. He works on my hair until the style is perfect, the haircut then maintains well at home and looks great even when the hair grow. Even though I usually see Paul, have had the chance, throughout the years to observe how everybody in the salon works with the same enthusiasm and care, plus everyone is very welcoming and warm!

Kind of edgy but one super cute hairdresser that is definitely a hidden gem in Finsbury Park. Don’t waste your money on West End prices when you can the most amazing hair cut locally. Probably the best I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend Davidas highly enough. He told me exactly what we would do after he had listened carefully and understood what I wanted - slick graduated bob - and gave me loads of tips in the process. Towel dry your hair before applying conditioner, use a serum to my highly processed hair before drying, get it coloured AFTER a cut not before. I was going to ring today to say how happy I am with my cut but thought I’d leave this glowing review instead before booking in again to see if he is free to highlight my hair in a few weeks. Very impressed!

I’ve been coming to Chaps & Dames for my haircut for over 3 years now! It is a very relaxed, friendly and non-intimidating salon (and I am easily intimidated by hair salons!). Friendly, non-judgemental and easy-going hairdressers who listen to what you want and do it. I have been having my hair cut by Kris and he always listens, does a really great quality / attention to detail cut every time and has helped me get a haircut I’m really loving. All hairdressers in the past have not listened to what I wanted so I have never been happy with a haircut that I feel expresses my personality like this before. The prices are also very fair and it’s conveniently located a 10 minute walk from Finsbury Park station. But don't take my word for it... !

I had terrible hair thanks to a previous cut and colour that went badly. I was lucky to get an appointment on the same day and super lucky to have Kris as my stylist. He did everything possible to fix my hair and after six hours of incredibly hard work I left with an amazing cut and colour. I am so pleased with my hair and will be going back regularly. This is an excellent salon that goes the extra mile. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the lovely staff here.

Went today for a cut and blow dry. Two hours and a half! It was a totally inexperienced student and I felt I was a sort of test for him. I think the salon could let me know that he had no idea of how to cut or dry my hair... I understand that he needed practice, but please, not at my expense. I do not think I had to pay for this, it should have been free. The three stars are because I believe the others are skilled, so I hope next time my review will be positive.

I had my hair cut at C&D twice and both haircuts were excellent. But last time, customer care was awful. After I explained to the stylist what I wanted she told me to have a dry cut. I wasn’t happy but agreed to it and asked if I can have my hair washed and blow dried afterwards in order to have the salon finish. The stylist refused telling me now that I was only booked for a dry haircut. This was not the case - I had booked for cut and blow dry. If the receptionist had made a mistake, it would have taken just ten minutes to wash and dry my hair and put it right. I left without a haircut having wasted my time. With a tiny bit of good will this would have been sorted, but it wasn’t. I went back to C&D for the complementary session. Theo cut and styled my hair really well - he's great. I'm very happy with the haircut and the service, so five stars now!

I love this salon, the great thing is I have had Paul, Kelly and Sotos cut my hair over the last year or so and each time I leave happy :) they really listen and try to give you what you want. Not to mention a cup of coffee to go with the friendly atmosphere, and old films on in the background makes a great experience! Not to mention it's a really affordable independent salon, much prefer C&D any day to your classic hard faced chain salons! Keep it up! :D

I love this place! I had Theo (who is a total babe and really good at giving style and hair care advice) and am so pleased with my results. I have finally achieved the colour I have been trying to get at a few salons now and I feel confident and happy with my new hair. It's the perfect mix of stylish / edgy and suitable for work - which sometimes a hairdresser can miss the mark on. Theo listened to what I wanted, gave me some great options and just executed both the cut and the colour, really really well. To top it off, the prices are so reasonable - and you don't compromise on anything. A real gem of a salon and one I definitely recommend.

I get my hair cut by Davidas, who consistently creates a very wearable, lasting style. It's rare that I find a hairdresser who understands my hair and how to make the best of it. I know when I go here I will get some really sound advice on style and maintenance. The personal, relaxed feel of this place adds to the experience. Fantastic value, best hair cut I've had for a long time, at a very reasonable price.

I was a bit nervous booking an appointment because to be honest I usually go with more well known hairdressers like Toni & Guy. When I walked in I was taken aback as the atmosphere is really busy but really friendly. I was booked in with Elizabeth who is currently the most junior member of the team for a wash cut and blow dry (£35 or so). I was also there for a color consultation. She really put me at my ease and we talked in depth about what I wanted. What I was having done was a pretty radical change, but I was really really impressed by Elizabeth as she really listened to what I wanted and made helpful suggestions which made this one of the BEST haircuts I've ever had. I'm not sure I'd ever bother going anywhere else now, she's a miracle worker! Worth every penny! I really recommend them to anyone. They may not be the biggest but they really care that you are happy with the end result.

Paul at Chaps & Dames has been cutting my hair for over 6 years now (eek!) and I've always been really happy, today was no exception. The atmosphere in the salon is fantastic, hip but friendly, and there's always great music playing. All that plus penny sweets on the reception, what's not to love?! Highly recommended and a fab asset to the neighbourhood, I can't imagine wanting to go anywhere else.

Loved this salon! First time here, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My stylist was Kelly, she was really easy to get along with and very knowledgeable. I've had some pretty ropey experiences in London Salons, this is the first time in 3 years I've left one with a 100% intention to go back. This is a unique, honest and friendly salon in the heart of Finsbury Park, unlike larger chains it represents amazing value for money with no sales gimmicks or salon jargon.

I walked into Chaps and Dames about 6 months ago as I wanted to find a new hairdresser. I have always found Paul, the owner, to be very accommodating and customer focussed. David has done a great job with my colours and styling and most recently Kelly trimmed my hair and updated my colour and I am very happy with the result. She understands my hair and has given me some good advice for in between visits. The salon provides a nice mix of friendliness, technical proficiency, long opening hours, value for money and a quirky unique vibe due the décor and musical soundtrack. Recommended.
