This is the fourth time I’ve been to Chop-Chop and I love it! Kevin the manager, saved my hair after a disastrous haircut and I haven’t been anywhere else since! He is AMAZING! I can’t recommend him enough. The service is great. Amazing and talented hairstylists. Everyone who I’ve met has been lovely and really helpful. I love that the prices are the same for all types of hair! If you haven’t been to Chop-Chop already you definitely should. You’ll be so happy with the results!

I went to Chop chop for the first time on my friend’s recommendation at Old Street and I absolutely loved it. My haircut turned out to be much better than expected. They provide such a great service at quite a reasonable price compared to other salons. I got my hair restyled by Norris who did a fantastic job. Definitely visiting again :)

Great experience! I was about to take the tube at Old Street Station when I saw this new Hair Salon! Perfect opportunity to try something new: no appointment, fast and cheap! Exactly what I was looking for! After 20 minutes, I was already leaving the shop and super happy about my new haircut. I visited ChopChop for the first time today having booked online. I didn't choose a stylist as I wasn't aware of the different ones, but Kevin did my hair today. Immediately, Kevin made me feel at home, asking exactly what I wanted and listening. He was a little hesitant about using heat on my natural hair, I told him it's fine because I only blow dry once or twice a month but wanted it trimmed straight incase I choose to wear it straight (I wear it curly 90% of the time). Kevin expertly washed, conditioned and blow dried my hair so well it looked like it had been GHDd. Kevin then trimmed my hair, which had not been trimmed in 8 months and despite me thinking it needed a few inches off, it didn't. I love a hairdresser who's not scissor happy. You know you've found a more than good hairdresser when they start telling you to "sit straight, put down phone, head up". I really enjoyed chatting to Kevin whilst he did my hair. I wasn't just having my hair done, I was getting a therapy session too 😂 I told Kevin I'd be back soon for highlights, of course I'll be choosing him to specifically do my hair next time. I really loved coming to ChopChop where I felt Kevin was professional, friendly, warm and a little bit cheeky (but that's all good as I felt at home with him). Needless to say, I think I've found my new salon and I hope he stays around for a while. It's the stylists that make the salon experience. Thank you Kevin ❤️

Really fantastic dry restyle with Rob! I brought pictures and he gave me a cut that suited me even more than the ones I showed him. Quick, professional, on time, and personable. Plus I love Chop Chop's ethos - as a woman with a short pixie cut, I get overcharged at many salons, and I love that they charge the same price for all hair lengths/textures/genders. Well, it was EXCELLENT. Baring in mind I have a LOT of hair, like a LOT, and I’m Black so my hair is incredibly coily too and very, very dense, Kevin, my stylist was SO patient, so detail-oriented and made sure to catch every strand. Going from naturally black hair with lightly coloured ends to much much lighter all over blonde highlights is a task, especially on a Sunday when England are in the final of Euros and everyone outside is going wild but honestly I would come (and will!!) back again and again and again. Not only is Kevin great at his job (and his colleague Philippa who assisted), but he is also incredibly kind, welcoming, hilarious and easy to talk to. It’s like getting your hair done by your best friend (who is also a world-class hair stylist who really knows what they’re doing). He took care with everything to do with my hair, including making sure none of it fell out(!!) which is a lot when you’re putting that much bleach into someone’s hair, was great and combing and brushing it without making me feel like my scalp was about to become detached from the rest of my head, was patient given how much hair I have, and was able to answer any and every question I had. I could not recommend getting your hair done by Kevin more*. A wonderful person and a brilliant, brilliant hair stylist. Absolutely value for money. Although please don’t book him up so that I can’t even get a slot…

Kevin is a genius. I had my hair cut at Chop Chop today and for the first time in years, I left a hairdressers actually wanting to check myself out - not run home and wash my hair/cry/wish-I-had-a-time-machine. Chop Chop are the ONLY hairdressers I've ever been to that want to just cut your hair with the greatest skill, not puff the experience out with empty fluff. My first time in, Diana was attentive, nice, explained why she's making specific choices, and overall did an amazing job. Even though I have plenty of hairdressers and stylists much closer to my flat, I've been to Chop Chop three more times since and I'm not planning on going anywhere else. I've had my hair cut by Diana twice now and I must say, she's really great! I have a pixie cut but my hair is very thick and grows way too fast. For my second appointment I chose the 'Complete Restyle' option which is 30 mins for £30 because I feel like my cut needed that extra time. I'm glad I did because the cut is perfect! I definitely recommend booking extra time if you think that you might need it. Hopefully Chop Chop will have a pay by the minute option in the future.

Obviously you won’t get the polished look that you get from a full wash, cut and dry, but for the price (£20!) I was really, really impressed. The products used are all high quality (and smell great). Really liked being able to book online for the same day.

The details: My haircut is a very short pixie - that means the details need to be perfect (and if not, it shows). With most hair salons, I need to ask for the right person to do the job - but they don't always get it right. The haircut is usually done quickly, but I always have to pay the much higher women's rate. Chop-Chop has an easy online booking process, and the cost is based on cut time (not gender). I've always struggled to find a good hairdresser to style my natural wavy/curly hair. I went in to get a new 'do on an impulse and Jan sorted me out perfectly. Didn't really know what I wanted, but I showed her a few pictures and she knew exactly what to do. It's a haircut I would expect to pay £50+ for anywhere else. They don't wash your hair here and you may have to wait 10 Min or so (with or without an appointment) but they do quality work quickly, are very friendly and it's the best you can get for the price.

She suggested to trim them in a way that I wasn't accustomed to, but I took the leap of faith, and voila, two weeks afterwards they were PERFECT and grew out even better than I could ever imagine. i've had my hair cut at about eight different places around shoreditch and dalston in an attempt to find someone who does my curly hair right, and though i've had a few decent cuts, the £70+ price tag sometimes makes you wonder if it's worth it. nauris at chop chop in old street was a pro, talking me through what he was doing as he did the cut, explaining how it would affect the length and texture of my hair. it was done in under half an hour and i came out with a nice, light, simple cut that was exactly what i wanted. the ease of booking, the cheap price, the friendly atmosphere and the professional service are all great reasons to go to chop chop. nauris was also interesting to chat to, and keen to make sure i was happy with what he was doing. a great experience all round! note: if you've not gone to this salon before, they don't wash hair and they do the cuts dry so it's better to go with clean hair free of any products so they can see what your natural hair looks like. i had product in mine and the cut still came out looking great, but it's worth keeping in mind.

For a change, it felt nice to not make an appointment and simply stop by and get a haircut.
