As someone who is an introvert, their talk-free is a great choice, gives me the chance to think and contemplate the latest art they are showcasing.

G. M.It's always a lovely experience to go to DKUK. The hairdressing is good value and high quality. Rosa did some great colour on my hair and gave me a good, sharp cut. As an older woman, I don't feel out of place, despite this being a very cool place. I love looking at the art - much more calming than looking at myself.

c. O.Lovely experience with amazing results. The hair toner with the bleach looks so much better than I've had before, less grey and more white! The pink is beautiful! Condition of hair is lovely due to them using olaplex and not leaving bleach on any longer then needed. Absolutely lovely experience! The bathroom was so retro... Disco lights and boom box playing retro music... Was great! There's no mirrors so you don't have to stare at yourself for hours on end! I felt so comfortable and welcomed here, none of the cliche issues and gossiping I've had in the past with many salons. They did what I wanted and didn't go off course at all, which I highly appreciated. There was no pressured up selling or telling me to get my hair cut, she even blowdried it for free which was so lovely of her! I am pretty sure my stylist was called Lydia! Forgive me if I am wrong, I'm awful with names but she was so lovely and made me evry comfortable. Tyler the receptionist was also so lovely and accomadating.. And had amazing hair!!!!! The salons so bright, open and interesting..it was such a new and pleasant experience. ❤️💕

T. C. S.Love this place. Daniel is amazing, talented and communicates really clearly, which is such an important but often lacking part of a haircut. He sources his products and runs his business sustainably, oh and did I mention he was a genius stylist?
The art is gorgeous, not having the watch yourself awkwardly for an hour is so great, and the magic mirror is, indeed, magic.

Was consulted by Oz, who properly listened to my concerns about my curly, unruly hair. Had a laugh, a really nice coffee and a beautiful blow dry as well. Definitely a great experience, she's professional and passionate; think I've found my new salon!

T. Q.Love going here, lovely interesting staff with chat that's a 'cut above' (LOL!) the usual. The best part is that you aren't looking into a mirror but an artwork, which makes haircuts a completely different and less awkward experience - who ever really wants to take a long hard look in the mirror for 40 minutes? Certainly not me with my past.
B. M.I just went to DKUK for the first time today after seeing their posters for a pay what you can haircut. I'd never before been to a mirrorless art/hair salon and loved the concept as well as the friendly staff, but I am left disappointed with my hair, which upon closer inspection just isn't very neat (the first thing my partner said when he saw me was that I should go back in). And then there's the fact fact that, in spite of my being there because of the pay what you can offer - and saying so when I booked on the phone, I was asked to pay £34 for the cut. I felt too bad to protest and paid up, which means I was drawn to a salon because of an offer I ended up not being offered, and payed more than I usually do for a haircut that I feel is less than I usually get. Bad maths.

N. H.Great hair cut and colour, really beautiful. Due to time taken to colour, recalling details of hair cut I asked for was forgotten, however was easily and happily remedied.
A. S.I had my hair cut with Rosa 6 weeks ago. It was the best haircut I ever had! I had had a bit of a dodgy attempt at a mullet tidied up by a friend and was also growing out an undercut and was feeling quite embarrassed to go to a hairdresser and ask them to tidy it up. Rosa was the most non-judgemental and communicative hairdresser I’ve ever had. She listened to my thoughts carefully and talked through all the different sections of my hair, what she could do with it and what might work best. She was really wonderful and I’ve told lots of people so since. The mullet she did for me looks amazing and I get compliments from strangers on the do. I love the vibe of the place, always feel very relaxed there and think their ethos is brilliant. Lots of people tell me how good it sounds and how much they hate sitting in front of a mirror in a typical hairdressers. If you’re curious I’d say 100% give it a go. I was worried an art exhibition space meeting hairdressers might be a little unwelcoming but have found all the staff at DKUK nothing but lovely. Good selection of hot and cold drinks too.

C.I have to admit that I’ve never been the biggest fan of going to the hair salon but DKUK is not like other hair salons ☺️ The whole process from start to finish is so relaxing and the stylists are respectful, they really listen to what you want. I love the fact that they don’t have mirrors, it’s great not to have to look at yourself and at the end you get the big reveal! If you have curly hair, go and see Idi , she really knows what she’s doing 💚

Everyone is always really nice, listens to my concerns and ideas for my haircuts, and it is the only place where I got my haircuts in the pandemic, as DKUK would always take the cleaning and safety procedures extremely seriously. They made me feel so safe. I am moving out of London but I will miss DKUK dearly!

M. D.I have been going to DKUK for years now and am always impressed with how they combine being professional and friendly at the same time. I've only had haircuts, but only ever see happy people walking out the door, which is a testament to their services.
2nd visit - can not recommend this salon enough. The staff are really friendly and they listen to what you want. Again I took a photo into Daniel and we discussed how it could be tailored to better suit me. Daniel had great ideas and as he is the professional, I was more than happy to take his advice. At the end, another fantastic haircut that suited me and I’ve had loads of positive comments about it. And I’ve already booked my second visit. Prices are really reasonable as well.
1st visit - Very friendly staff & great prices. I showed Daniel some photos of how I wanted my hair & he gave me the best haircut & style that I’ve had for a while. Definitely worth a visit.

Recently Rosa dyed my hair and she got the colour spot on I love it, and Idi has done my hair cut a few times now and I always love it so much. This hairdressers has the nicest atmosphere and everyone is always super accommodating. I also love seeing the different art every time I go. DKUK team you're the best!!!!!

Not only is the service and hair-cutting top notch (lovely staff, free drinks, amazing hair products), the art is great, and changes regularly so I’ve never seen the same exhibit twice. I have never been loyal to a hairdresser before now!
