a. p.I was really impressed by the quality of the service! I came to cut 40 cm of my hair for a donation which made me a bit nervous since I hadn't set foot in a hair salon in 8 years. But the staff was incredibly patient and supportive, the service was impeccable and the final look made me even happier. A special thank you to Brenda for taking such good care of me, I would definitely come back soon!
T. B.I felt like I needed to leave a review for this place. I recommended this salon to my boss, believe me, their service is amazing. I loved the British blow dry done by Genaro. My hair was a bit damaged and now it is so much softer, frizz-free and hydrated, my strands feel extremely nourished. Also, Genaro is very funny and friendly, with such positive energy!!! I loved every minute there, honestly, they give you a VIP treatment! I also loved the massage I received and shout out to the receptionist too, who is very nice and helpful. Thank you very much, guys! do yourself a favour and go to this salon! you deserve it :)))

At Edward James, you get the full experience - relaxing, scented shoulder massage, soothing hair wash, personalised hair colour, cut and styling plus nice drinks and biscuits! Freddie runs a smooth operation and is the best! He’s been styling my hair for over a year and every appointment has been a delight! Freddie always knows exactly the colour and style that suits me and they last. He is professional, witty and has a sassy sense of humour. I always leave with beautiful hair, fully refreshed. S.I transformed my hair from dark brown to deep reds and so wanted a hair salon with fantastic reviews. From the minute I walked in I had a massage on arrival, fabulous staff and my hair is in the best condition it has been in a long time!!!

I had the pleasure of having my hair cut and coloured by Emilio a few weeks ago and honestly I couldn't be happier. I wanted something new and different and Emilio definitely delivered. I had an awful experience at a salon nearby (not to mention names) and I walked into Edward James in a fluster needing to fix the mess the salon before did to my hair! They were kind and calming and turned the disaster birthday I was having around and made the whole experience amazing. I felt like a new woman (thank goodness). Had never been at another salon in London so I wanted the best and I had it. I had a Balayage, glossing and toning by Laylah and a cut & blow dry by Brenda. They were both lovely to me. Friendly and very professional. Love you girls.
The experience was at another level from the beginning,offering me coffe and champagne. They started with e relaxing head massage, and all the treatment went great. I really enjoyed it especially the mask with the hot towel in the end, I was falling asleep. 🤣 I loved the results it was exactly what I wanted.
Highly recommend guys.

The relaxing head massage on arrival is a real treat, and Lelia is the absolute best colourist I've found in London (I've tried a lot over the years)! She completely understands my hair goals and gives great guidance on what will work best for my hair and skin tone; as well as super treatment suggestions/maintenance tips to keep my colour looking fresh in between visits.

A. O.I recently visited this salon for the first time and it's the best salon I have been to in forever! Emilio was the definition of a professional from start to finish. I went from a very neglected, outgrown brown/blonde balayage to an ashy/purple blonde in one morning. Emilio really knows how to colour hair and I am blown away with the outcome! He had pleasant conversation, was evidently passionate about his work and provided excellent service to me whilst dealing with other clients in a busy salon. The overall service and atmosphere in the salon was lovely and it was a joy to spend an early Saturday morning there. It's abundantly clear they pride themselves on customer service. Despite a busy salon, it felt calm and I appreciate the other members of staff taking the time to talk to me and check-in on my hair progress, especially Freddy who had a great, upbeat energy about him. S. M.I went to Edward James having previously been at another hairdressers across the street (would not recommend Rush!) My senior hairstylist was Emilio, who has only been at the salon for only a short while but I’m glad he is! From start to finish, Emilio listened to exactly what I wanted, took his time and it’s evident he is passionate about hairdressing. My hair is not easy to deal with- part Asian which loves to bring warm tones, I wanted a balayage with ash tones at the end. I was not expecting much (previous experiences have been let downs) but Emilio crafted the best Pinterest-worthy balayage I’ve ever had. The ends are a beautiful ash colour, rising to a creamier blonde at the roots having used two toners. He was careful, precise, and blended my colours with expert accuracy. I’m loathe to write this review as I always want Emilio to be available for me in the future! Thank you so much for my glorious hair ❤️

O. L.A balayage and a hair cut were professionally done. All staff was very friendly. However, I am disappointed and the overall experience was negative because often I had to wait for the hairstylist while he was serving other clients. I was in the salon almost 6 hours (the last time a haircut and balayage took 4 hours) because of this situation. I would expect more attention from the staff after paying more than £300 for their services. Not coming back

Client care- very warm welcome, hairdresser was truly talented and great mentor to a new starter. Avoided small talk with me which I highly appreciate haha! Plus you get a complimentary shoulder massage while waiting for hairdresser to prepare.
Ambience- so pleasant, great scent, layout and colour. Choice of tea,coffee and Prosecco.
Salon appears to have wonderful teamwork going on and genuine respect for each other. I felt safe and relaxed in there. First salon I’ve been to where I chose to rebook!

I explained to her what I wanted, that no other place has done properly and she said she could do it. Today I went there to have my hair done and I was extremely very well treated (begging with massage and lots of attention at all times). Lelia did a GREAT job, with no hurry and exactly what I asked her. The place is beautiful and lovely. The staff is very friendly and always aiming for your comfort. It is such a treat every couple of months to come in and be looked after so well - not only is my hair longer and healthier than it has been for years but I absolutely love the head/shoulder massages and of course the Prosecco! L. U.I would thoroughly recommend this salon if you want great hair and to feel spoiled in the process. I am very selective when it comes to my hairdresser and switched to Edward James Putney almost 2 years ago now because my stylist, Freddie, was able to offer a cut my previous hair stylist (of 17 years) unfortunately could not. I have always received great service from friendly staff at EJ Putney. The complementary massage is something I am so used to now it is easy to forget this is not a standard for most salons and neither are the massage chairs at the wash basins... I would also say it is not an appropriate use of google reviews to post about a job seeking rather than a customer experience. As a customer, I am thoroughly satisfied and would highly recommend Edward James Putney.

Lelia has completely changed my relationship with my hair - she’s helped me streamline my morning routine with the split ends treatment so I’m using less heat daily and letting my hair grow longer between appointments (though I’m always itching to get back in for my next visit!).

B. A.This is the second time I've been to this salon and both times I have had my highlights done by Freddie. He is amazing - really talented. On the second visit, I wasn't too happy with my colour. (it should be noted I'm seriously fussy! And there were other factors that are too boring to go in to!) Freddie corrected it immediately and couldn't have been more charming about it (I've been to places where if you criticise, they are really unpleasant). I suspect that it is really rare that Freddie has to change anything (and the first time I went in - my colour was better than I had had in years) and I was seriously impressed with his reaction to my fussiness! I can't recommend this salon more highly. Their priority is their customer on all levels, the staff are charming, really attentive and welcoming and all in all, if I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

While I was waiting for Kirsty I received a complimentary shoulder massage, I have paid for massages that have not been nearly as good as this massage. I booked in for a blow dry as I am growing my hair out to its natural colour of grey. Kirsty was lovely and made my hair look great. I also received great advice on what to do to make my hair look nicer as I am growing out. I am definitely going to book in for a hair colour treatment there.
K. M.I changed hair dressing salons to use Edward James in Putney after a friend recommended the salon to me. I’m so glad I changed. Edward James is the best salon I’ve ever been to. From the friendly welcome on my first visit when I came for a complimentary consultation with the fabulous Mide to the wonderful massage at the start, I love everything about my visits.
I’ve had some bad colour experiences in the past so am always rather nervous but every time I have my appointment, I feel totally at ease. Mide has done a wonderful job at helping me to totally re-style my hair and she’s found a great colour scheme that suits my skin tone completely.
At previous salons, I used to get home after a cut and blow-dry and wash my hair straight away so I could style it how I liked it but since using Edward James, I’ve absolutely loved my hair. Mide totally gets what I’m looking for and has really helped me to love my hair again.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Edward James as a hair salon and everything they offer. Thanks Mide and the team!!

A. M.Lovely and relaxed experience as usual. Went to have my hair coloured. Very welcoming towards my toddler whom I had to take along. Really liked my hair colour and received compliments too. However on this occasion my hair felt quite dry afterwards. I washed it well and used loads of conditioner but this didn’t seem to resolve the issue. Have not experienced this in the past.

A. Q.From the friendly reception staff to the wonderful stylists I can not recommend EJ Putney enough. The salon, spa and treatment rooms are so gorgeous and relaxing. You even get a head massage with Aveda oil while waiting for your stylist - pure bliss! And all the stylists are great. They really listen to you and understand what it is you want from the appointment. Since I've been going to EJ Putney I get so many compliments on the colour and condition of my hair. This place is amazing.

S. H.A warm welcome to a gorgeous treatment area beneath the hectic Putney traffic above. Small, beautiful and serene with Eastern influences, complimentary refreshments, and chill out music. Such a relaxing manicure - I wanted to go to sleep! So inviting it sparked my curiosity regarding other treatments as it would be lovely to have a massage here. Manicure was great - perfect colour and lovely warm technician Kate! Only minus is I'm pretty clumsy with regular nail polish! However it's lasting longer than I imagined...
l. H.What a joy the Edward James Spa is .... the whole experience, from the moment I walked in, was delightful. I was greeted in such a friendly manner when I first arrived- which made me feel so at ease. I was then taken downstairs to the Spa area which immediately sets the tone - I felt a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of Putney High Street. I was then given probably the best massage I have ever had . The therapist was informative and paid special attention to my particular areas of concern. Most importantly it "did the job" and relieved any aches and pains I had been suffering from. Lovely staff, glorious Aveda products, brilliant service and a relaxed ambiance. Highly recommend this place - it is a hidden gem in Putney High Street.

H. R.I'm extremely fussy about where/how my hair is done and used to only use Kerastase products but now I have found Edward James and Aveda I am a complete convert! Both Ashley and Danny who have done my hair have been brilliant and the head massage at the start of every appointment is to die for. Ashley has just transformed my never-dyed, very dark, ridiculously thick/long hair with blonde balayage and it looks incredible and is still in amazing condition despite the bleach (thanks to Keratin treatments she suggested). Everyone takes great care of you at this salon and the results are really lovely, I highly recommend!

It would have been a 5 if it hadn't been for a very rude staff member. (I haven't come across before) talking extremely loudly in the relaxation hair washing area. I understand sometimes things have to be discussed but surely as quietly as possible in this area. I was trying to relax as I am always when I visit the hairdressers. It was impossible to relax with a bellowing voice next to me with no consideration for anyone but herself and her client. Apart ftom that my hair looks fabulous so thank you to Freddie, Andrea and a Spanish lady from Madrid who's name I didn't get for giving a lovely hand massage.

C.My daughters both had bad hair experiences and had all their problems sorted out here - I am talking about overdone highlights, orange roots, awful home tints but all was taken care of at this salon. I used to go to a chain just down the road but was completely fed up with the high staff turnover resulting in varying results - the discounts for daytime booking didn't soften the blow of trial runs with new staff. My daughters persuaded me to go here and I have never looked back. The price (for me) is almost an investment! However I wouldn't go anywhere else - lovely experience, lovely staff and one of my only luxuries.

M. C.Lovely place. I pop in here from time to time to get my hair done and have never had a bad experience. The additional touches such as the complimentary drink etc make it feel nicer than all the other places. Hair products are good too.
