The BEST hair salon ever. I literally won't go anywhere else. I have been going here for over 2 years now and they have revived my hair, it has never been healthier. They all give great advice on how to care for my hair and help me to make it look it's best. I have been getting the kerastraight treatment for a year and a half which has resulted in my hair being the longest and healthiest it has been in a long time and their brazilian knots service makes my hair look incredible. They give honest advice and don't make you try buy anything you don't need and always steer me in the right direction. Marietta literally works magic each and everytime I go there. Lovely staff they treat you really well. Had a boost treatment for the kerastraight with Marietta and I loved it. I was able to wear my hair straight for the week and had no frizz. She really made sure my hair was blow dried and straightened properly. My hair is easier to manage and a bit softer too. Definitely book in with Marietta if you have difficult (4c & thick) hair like mine. Had a really nice much needed trim too! -- The first time I had Kerastraight I felt it made no difference to my hair and the finished result was very frizzy and puffy my hair still felt like it hadn't been dried properly as my roots and some patches of hair where still slightly damp with product after.

With an african hair I always struggle to fiind a good hairdresser. I always use wigs to hide my hair. I google african hair salon and I founded Hair Definition. I google it a lot and I decide to book an appoitment. They here very nice on the phone. On the day I arrived and Marietta she was amazing she explain to me all the treatment. I did for the 1st time a Kerastraight treatment. She made me a cup of tea and made sure that I was confortable. The results were amazing. I never belived that I could follow in love with my own hair. She gave me a lot of tips and tricks to treat my hair. There is no price in the world that can pay how much selfconfident she gave me with my hair.On top of that if I have any concern about my hair and tratment I text her and she always replay. Hair definitions is truly a salon for all hair types, and I love that I always get seen on time with no wait to get my hair done. I came here to get a kerastraight keratin treatment done on my 4c hair, and I can honestly say that when I washed my hair back to its reverted state (even after 6 months worth of washes) my hair was still so much easier to handle with barely any issues with tangling. I will definitely recommend this salon to anyone with any hair type, and to anyone who is curious about kera straight treatment!

This is my second visit to the salon and I am extremely satisfied with the level of care and knowledge Marietta has. I have been natural for almost 6 years now and wanted a treatment that make my hair more manageable without being permanent. I did the kerastraight treatment and the moisturiser boost 6 weeks after the initial treatment.. So my hair are healthy( no more split ends) and they are growing again(they reach a length plateau). My mother regularly uses this salon. They have a large variety of services and have always left her happy after her visits. I've had my hair cut there once and had kerastraight once. I was really sceptical going before having kerastraight (more to do with my nature than having any real grounds) but it's really a bit of a miracle product... really reduced my hair loss and left it feeling stronger for months. Highly recommend this salon EDIT: I visited again recently and had my hair cut by Marietta. Best haircut I've ever had. She pulled off exactly what I asked for which most hairdressers I've been to never get quite right... (and she patiently put up with my picky requests at the same time!)... Still highly recommend this Salon!

Friendly, professional and efficient staff plus clean, modern salon in a convenient location. I hesitated before trying KeraStraight after years of relaxing my mixed Afro-European hair however I have been really pleased with the results and will never go back to relaxer again - tired of frying my hair and am now learning to embrace it after a life struggling. After two KeraStraight treatments I now have 50% natural and 50% relaxed hair which Marietta is gradually trimming as it grows out. I trust her completely with my hair. KeraStraight makes my hair soft and shiny - it isn’t a miracle, it reverts to curls after washing but blow-drys or irons straight again, helping me transition to my natural curls. I started doing the kerastraight treatment with hair definitions in Dec 2018 and it has done nothing but make my life easier! My hair is softer, stronger and shinier than it has ever been before. My hair has always been very sensitive to heat styling, however after the kerastraight my hair is able to handle heat styling a lot better. Immediately after my first treatment my hair had little to no breakage. I have 4C type hair that is very prone to frizzing. Leaving the house with straight hair and arriving back at the end of the day with straight hair was practically impossible. Now I go out in confidence, feeling assured that my hair isn't doing something crazy. However, the treatment is just one half of the greatness at hair definitions, the other half are the lovely women who work here. My hair treatment was done by marietta, she talked me through the process and took the time to ask about and understand my hair before she began. She is incredibly gentle and does a stunning job. I admit I was dubious at first but Marry gave a thorough consultation and what I could expect as the results. I have type 4 curls and have spent the past 2 years growing out relaxers so was cautious about putting something on my hair. The treatment left my hair ultra soft and more manageable when curly. I had a kerastraight treatment and was seen to by Marietta and Csilla. I cannot fault their expertise and advice, my hair shall definitely be better for it. There is a very warm and friendly atmosphere in this salon; they made me feel very welcome. Like one of the girls. Edit: since writing this review I have been seen by Ruby as Csilla is on maternity leave. She introduced me to the kerastraight ultimate treatment and my hair loves it; it has grown so much since I first started, and it looks amazing. Service is still amazing; x months in and, though my hair is hard work, the atmosphere is very friendly and therapeutic. I have some great laughs and conversation with Ruby. It's worth the journey.

I have been going to "Hair Definitions" for nearly a year now since my regular hairdresser of 17 years returned to Spain. One of the things that I really didn't like in the past was the removal of old extensions. It was quite painful. But since I met with Marietta her removal method is absolutely pain-free and she puts in new extensions very quickly that last for months. I am very happy at this salon with Marietta and Csilla and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional extensions at competitive prices.

I wanted to try the Brazilian knots for a long time. I did my research and got a shortlist of hair salons to visit. As soon as I entered HD I felt these people knew what they were talking about plus they were super friendly. Marieta was able to answer all my questions and she did and amazing job at managing expectations. She also offered me the best quality hair I've ever seen, which took some time to arrive to London but she diligently kept me up to date with the order. I got the Brazilian knots done today and I'm beyond happy with them. Again, Marieta was super professional, informative and friendly; but beyond that, her technique seems pretty good, so it was money well spent. By the way, it took around 2.5hrs so I'd suggest not doing this in a hurry or with limited time. I definitely recommend this place. I'm really satisfied with the service :)

Summary: Nice, clean and professional-looking environment; unprofessional hairdresser and unreasonable prices for crotchet braiding. I wouldn't recommend anyone going there to have that style done. Long version: It was a bit difficult for me to find a suitable salon in London, as I was new to the city, but someone recommended hair definitions and it had seemingly reasonable prices. I only came in for a quick trim and style but when I asked for crotchet braid prices, baring in mind this is a simple protective style that takes a lot less effort than full on braid extensions and weaves, they quoted over £100, which doesn't include the hair - this is incredibly excessive and exploitative of the growing trend for this style. There are places that do it for far less (much more reasonable prices) and you'd get the same services. There aren't that many ways to do crotchet braiding. That's why it's so popular - a much easier style to do and maintain than the alternatives. The salon itself is nice and clean. I've only been in contact with one of the hairdressers so I cannot speak to the overall service - she was unprofessional but had an energetic demeanour so you sort of laughed off inappropriate comments. I don't think it's supposed to be a common thing to have a hairdresser make judgemental comments on your personal life (relationships etc.) I did like the way she styled my hair and the advice she gave on general maintenance.

I have been coming to this salon for a year now and my stylist Nawa has helped me through the transition from relaxed to natural hair by using kerastriaght. I also had some breakage at the back which has now picked up a lot and the difference is amazing. My hair is now longer, thicker and manageable without the use of harmful chemicals and I can now wear my own hair out which is a massive I'm improvement from where my hair was a year ago. I would highly recommend this salon and Nawa ad I never thought o would be able to see my natural hair out and look this good.

Yesterday was my second visit to the salon to get my Kerastraight treatment done by Nawa who is by far the most kindest and sweetest hairdresser I have met thus far. My first visit was with my daughter, we both got haircuts and she was treated like a princess. The ambience when you walk in is clean and airy, as well as the personal greeting you get from Nawa and Marietta are always a plus. The salon isn’t one of those hectic salons that never speak to you or even acknowledge you’ve walked in, but rather it is much more intimate, and at times it is just you and you hairdresser there which is great when you want some peace and quiet. The salon also has privacy blinds for those that don’t want to be seen which is another great plus. Honestly not only are you getting a personal great treatment done for great prices, you’re getting catered to like it’s only you that exists. Thank you Nawa I will definitely be coming back soon.

The service at HD is great, I initially found them just searching through google thinking about getting a relaxer but then decided to try KeraStraight. I have found my new hairdressers as all the staff are knowledgable and professional. I have been a client at high end afro salons including junior green, Sandra Webb and Afrotherapy and none of them compare to HD. If you're thinking about booking yourself in at Hair Definitions go for it as you will never look back.

Marrietta does brazillian knots on my hair. I must say over the last year and a bit my natural hair is alot healther due to her care and following advice. A week later I had the KeraStraight treatment and I was so surprised! My hair hasn’t looked or felt this soft in so long. Had my first appointment today for a full head weave with Nawa. I am over the moon with my hair, Nawa was professional and finished my hair within a timely manner. There were no lumps or bums as her plaits were perfect. Her many years of weave experience really shows. I will now be using Nawa for all of my future weaves.
