This place is such a hidden gem! I've been searching high and low for hair straightening treatments in London and this was the only place that had reasonable prices. I usually don't trust hair salons as much with straightening, but I'm so happy I discovered this place!! The straightening treatment went perfectly. I came for a consultation before the appointment, so I felt very assured when the hair stylists gave me advice on what was possible with my hair because I had highlights before. All in all the staff members were so friendly, and super knowledgeable and honest. I highly recommend this salon!

Fantastic experience - Mayumi is wonderfully expert and professional - my unruly Asian hair has never looked better. Until Covid I would always get my hair cut in Japan, but the hairdressers here are all trained in Japan and I couldn't have been happier with the result. Wonderful service and technical brilliance.

A small and cosy place but they are very professional. Being Asian myself I've only been to Japanese or Korean hair salons. The 2 hairdressers that I have encountered were both great. They were both very patient with my hair, a lot of attention to detail and followed my instructions while giving their professional advice. Very happy with my haircuts and definitely will not change for the foreseeable future, price is very reasonable too!

This is not my first time coming here for hair cut. but today was one of the best hair cut so far. Had my hair cut with Mayumi today. Very happy with my hair style. She has 10yrs work experience as being hairdresser. Highly recommend her. At the end massage was super!!!

Had my hair cut and got straightened for the first time here and was very happy with the treatment and service. The male stylist, Ryu, has consulted me well and his work was very neat and professional. I have got my hair straightened a couple of times at other hair salons but I was not happy and fully satisfied with the result always. But this time, I was totally happy with the finish. Also the service was excellent. Ryu was friendly, welcoming and professional at the same time. I enjoyed the relaxing moment. Happy to recommend!

Ryu The Branch Manager was Awesome! Patience and gave good advice. #Smiles all the way! My hair colour was amazing. Service is nice and friendly. Room temperature could have been better but it is a small shop hence it can be quite humid during a hot summer day. You get a nice quick massage too after having your hair done. Pricing is very reasonable for a city salon. Full head, colour, cut, blow dry, treatment for under £160. Dulwich Village was my local... Not anymore! Pricing here is fab! So needed that pick me up therapy! Thank you! Will definitely see you again.

Staff are brilliant and very friendly. Extremely talented at working with Asian hair, which can often be a difficult challenge for Western hairdressers/barbers due to its different thickness/texture. Can 100% recommend - their head massages are fantastic also.

This branch has more long term staff, so English tends to be stronger, although having a hair cut from Japanese hairdressers at Moriyama who are on working holiday permits has never been a problem. The standard is in general very high, i've been a customer for over 8 years, and had over 10 different hairdressers and at the other branches in Bond and Baker Street. Have shopped around too, and i would say from experience these are the best in London.

The service here is great! I was running late but my hairdresser, Kumiko, was so great, put me at ease and even gave me the massage at the end. The massage was just what I needed! I went for a complete change with my hair, from Long to a short, Kumiko was great in helping me decide the style and putting me at ease with the nerves. Looking forward to the next visit

J. Moriyama is the place I go to when I want a quick, fuss-free, good-quality haircut. I usually have my haircut by Kumiko, and she does a good job, but I'm not entirely sure as to how creative the hairstylists are, given that they usually recommend the same thing each time I return. Still, it's a reliable salon, and it opens late, catering to people who work in the City, so it's definitely a place I'd recommend to people looking for an above average haircut.

Very good haircut for a reasonable price.

Went in yesterday to get my haircut done after reading positive reviews here but it didnt work for me. I have long hair when i went in yesterday (till the middle of my back) and I wanted something creative and short. The person who cut my hair was Ryu and although I explained what I wanted at least 4 times including the pic I showed him from Pinterest, he still did what he wanted to I guess coz its nowhere near what I wanted. I have always been very particular about my haircuts but this time I made the mistake of trying a new place. My friends tell me its a nice haircut but I can feel the quality of my hair which was pretty smooth at one time and now its rough coz of the way it was cut. Im not happy. I wont be going back.

Had my coloured and highlighted by Ryu .. He is excellent, skilled, and takes great care in the whole process. His English is limited, but he does understand what needs to be done. As I have a long dark hair, I find Japanese salons best to highlight and colour dark hair, as they understand dark hair highlighing. This is the second time I ve done the whole hair colour process with Ryu (at Bank) , and am very happy with highlghted, lighter but great natural looking finish. Highly recommend him. On the whole the service, is discrete, very courteous, and meticulous work.

All of the staff here do great haircuts that still look good even once they're growing out, so even if your favourite isn't available you'll be ok. And "would you like a massage?" after your cut. Oh, go on then!

I have been here quite a few times and each time I have had perfect service. I have recommended my other half and she loves it there too! For the record, Fumie is excellent and I am sure to book more appointments here in the future.
