Lovely local hairdressers/barbers. Sharon usually cuts my hair and she's a real asset to Johnny's - she's friendly without being overbearing, efficient, no-nonsense and she understands what her customers want with very few words. And it goes without saying but she's a great hairdresser too. I've never had a bad cut there and would choose Johnny's over anywhere else. Great atmosphere and it's reasonably priced too (especially for the area).
Also, it's worth saying in these covid times that they take cleanliness very seriously. It's a small place but I felt very safe. I was the only customer in the space and masks were worn at all times.
Highly recommended!

Very relaxing experience, and I enjoyed easygoing down-to-earth atmosphere in the shop. It was great that there was no expectation that I should chat, but if I'd been in a chatty mood I felt conversation would have flowed easily.
Oh, and I really liked my haircut! The stylist (I didn't catch her name, sorry!) seemed quickly to grasp what I wanted and also understood what I wanted to avoid. While it was obvious she was doing her job carefully, there was minimum fuss. I didn't feel like I'd been doused in product and the products she did use were very nice.
I thought it was good value for a women's cut (£40) compared to other salons of a similar quality. Additionally, and to their immense credit, when I booked and admitted that it'd been a year since my last 'do, and asked if it would move up into the "restyle" cost bracket, I was told that they just didn't do that.
I'll definitely go back, but don't plan to wait as long for the next haircut!

I was recommended Johnny’s by several friends after doing a call out for hairdressers in Hackney on Facebook.
After doing some research they were by far the most reasonable in terms of costs, so decided to give them a try.
Really loved my colour (highlights) by Paula, who really understood what I wanted and got it just right. Service was friendly, efficient and laid back.
It’s a small, local, contemporary no-frills place with a nice array of customers, including an old lady who comes in every week for a wash and blow dry!
Would definitely recommend.

I have been going since they opened around 2012 / 13. I have not had my hair cut or dyed better than here. They have a relaxed atmosphere and a great playlist! I highly recommend them.

A great salon, very down to earth and friendly. I've had great cuts there, and I'd recommend it to anyone (unless you don't like dogs, because there are sometimes three of them in there!)

Love this place. Always get a great haircut here, staff are great at what they do, very friendly and there's always a good vibe there. When I move to Amsterdam I'll probably come back here for a chop :)
