Federico did such a fantastic job with my hair last week! I have naturally very dark (almost black) hair and Federico gave me the most beautiful colour and amazing blend of honey tone highlights. I had a full head of highlights, toner, cut and blow dry and everything was done perfectly. Because I have such dark hair, in the past with previous hairdressers my hair has gone slightly reddish/ auburn looking which I discussed with Federico as I was worried about this but he ensured that did not happen. I loved his attention to detail and you can tell he really loves his job as he takes his time in order to get the perfect result. I have been looking for a new hairdresser in London for ages and Federico will now be my go to, due to me being really fussy and I can now say I totally trust him with my hair as I couldn't pick any faults! Can't wait to get my hair done again with him soon :)

What Renata does is almost like witchcraft! She's incredibly knowledgeable and spot on with their consultation. I've virgin black Asian hair which she handled perfectly and revived with a Balayage, olaplex treatment, loads of toner and a textured haircut. Love the colour and had so many comments about it the minute I left the salon 💞 My hair has never looked so good and felt sooooo soft! Highly recommend.

I have been going to Live True Brixton for almost two years now and I have had good experiences with hairstylists like Bea but not so good with the process of booking an appointment- and today the latter happened for the second time and I won’t be visiting this branch again. Booked my appointment on the spot the last time I visited at the reception to get the discount and I called today to confirm because I had only received an email from them - but I was told that the booking didn’t exist and nothing had been actually booked for the rest of the month. Second time this is happening and there is no apology or anything from the person on the phone, so it’s a no from me.

A bit of a disappointing experience so won't be coming again. Came in for a colour consultation on Friday evening and showed inspiration images to a stylist who looked at and felt my hair and told me I should book in for a balayage and cut and quoted £165 with the 50% colour discount which seemed reasonable. Booked in for Sunday morning and when I came in my stylist came over and told me that because my hair was long it would take her longer and she would need more product mixing so it would be more expensive, then quoting me £219. This seemed bizarre as a hairdresser had already seen my hair in person and quoted and booked the time less than two days earlier. She offered me a price in between those two which I accepted but she didn't seem happy about it and told me I was already getting it for really cheap. The stylist was very nice but to be honest the end result isn't quite what I hoped for given my inspiration pictures (shown here), and I ended up with quite a subtle colour which is quite grey/ashy in places despite saying I wanted a dense and bright blonde that isn't grey. The blending is very good but the colour just isn't what I want. People I know can hardly tell I've had my hair done, which is disappointing because I really wanted something punchy.

Went in for my first time to Live True Brixton and had Diogo as my stylist for full head highlights & cut and blow dry. Diogo was friendly and professional, and guided me through my colour/cut with examples to confirm we were on the same page about colour and style as I have naturally thin blonde hair. Really happy with the results & he gave some recommendations to help strengthen my thin/dry hair and some simple ways to give it volume. Will be going back and definitely recommend him! Thank you!

I booked through Classpass as I had credits to use and I'll admit I was a little scared! However my experience was really positive. Ronnie trimmed and blowdried my hair exactly how I wanted it. She listened to what I asked for and then did just that :) I would definitely go back and I like that the salon is quite big and airy inside so I wasn't nervous about Covid. The only thing is make sure you email in advance if you book on classpass as they didn't receive my booking first time, but it was quickly sorted out for me.

I went here to get Balayage and a trim with Diogo. He was very friendly and helpful and really listened to what I wanted. Very happy with the end result and reasonably priced aswell. 5 stars for Diogo but 3 stars for the salon. Diogo was amazing! He spent the first 15 minutes just talking to me about what I wanted and what would work well for my hair. He asked a ton of questions and made suggestions as we went. I really felt like he took his time and didn’t rush through just to get the job done. He gave me a really beautiful balayage which was exactly what I was after! I’ll definitely be back to see him. Giving the salon 3 stars as I was a bit underwhelmed. I had to go in for a patch test twice because whoever did mine the first time didn’t record it. So if you do go in for a patch test, request a card for proof. Also be aware that the salon pricing is a bit dishonest. I booked for balayage and then was charged an additional £30 at the counter for toner….this has never come up at any other salon as it always included in the price of the balayage. The salon really needs to work on price transparency as I’ve read a few other posts stating the same thing.

Federico is THE best hairdresser. He takes pride in his work and I have always been delighted with my experience with him. His cuts are always perfect and he is really knowledgable with ideas and advice about cuts/colours/treatments. I went here in October got a full balage - loved it but cost and arm and a leg and wasn't given a price breakdown of what exactly I was paying for down on paper or a receipt wasn't too bothered as I was happy with outcome and was treating myself Booked in for December when I was in the Salon last after the treatment. Called in to confirm what time I'll be in and they said no record of me - fair enough I'll book in another appt, said I needed to do another patch test as they had no details of me on the system I said I have an email to prove this - the woman on the phone would not take it - didn't want to solve the problem just said I have to come in. Rather rude and abrupt. So I'm not going back as I don't want to be paying luxury prices for bad customer service.

I went to True Brixton for a full head balayage and haircut. My stylist was Diogo. Let me tell you he was a absolute star. I came in with a unrealistic hair colour but Diogo worked his magic and got me near close to the colour I wanted! Diogo is a great hairdresser. I went in for a quick colour consultation where we chatted through the options of how to sort out my slightly stripey hair. Went back a week later and had a half head balayage with foils. It was my first time there and Diogo made me feel super comfortable, isn't judgemental about previous hair cuts or colour you've had done. I haven’t cut my hair since last September, my ends were so bad, dry, shaggy and dead, half the time I felt like a poodle. Federico saved my hair. He saved the length but cut off all the dead ends, gave my hair a bit of volume and I’m so in awe of it that I can’t stop touching it and playing with it. My experience at Live True in Brixton is always the best. I went on Saturday and was welcomed by Federico. I terribly needed to cut my hair, and as soon as he sat me down for a quick consultation, I felt immediately comfortable that I told him he had a white canvas and he could cut my hair as he wanted. He gave me one of the most beautiful haircut I have ever had, all of this while smiling and chatting and not showing any sign of tiredness even though the shop was very busy. I've been to Vicky a couple of times now at the Brixton salon and she is amazing. Before I started going to Vicky I had random highlights everywhere, my hair was in terrible condition and I wanted to go blonder. Within a couple of visits my hair is bleach blonde and the condition has improved soooo much due to her recommendations and the care she takes when bleaching. She's very knowledgeable and skilled, and also easy to chat to. I completely trust her with my hair and will definitely be visiting her again.

I got my hair coloured by Viki last week and I have to say it was the best hair dressing experience I've ever had. I have really thick curly mixed race hair that usually other hair dressers say is 'too hard to handle', Viki was so lovely and gave me so much confidence going into the appointment after our consultation. I requested the transformation of warm chestnut brown to a cool creamy blonde. I knew from previous experiences that this was challenging and the process would be gradual. I also liked the look of roots blending into the colour rather than the harsh line I was used to from a full head of colour growing out. I felt at ease with my stylist Bea (Brixton salon), during the consultation she was very knowledgeable and talked through all the options. I opted for a full-head balayage, root shadow, toner, cut & blowdry. Bea was reassuring throughout the process, clearly skilled and we chatted about techniques and aftercare products. I was extremely happy with the colour result and gorgeous bouncy curls, I spent the rest of the day with a smile on my face! I was pleasantly surprised at how close I was (still some unwanted warmth) to the blonde I wished for and I’m excited to know that this will be achieved on my next visit! The only small downside, it would’ve been nice to be offered a drink (especially during developing time) I was there for nearly 6 hours, luckily I took my water bottle with me. Overall I highly recommend and have done so already!

I always wait for a little while before leaving a review for hairdressers, because usually wen you come out from the hairdresser you're happy but then you wash your hair and try to style at home and it does not look the same. Well, that's not the case here! I would recommend and visit again myself.

However, I went back today and booked in with one of their new stylists, Vicki, and she was AMAZING. She did a bleach, tone, and cut. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. She listened to what I wanted and took plenty of time to make sure the details were all perfect. She did an extra bleach treatment to “clean” the lightened parts of my hair at no extra charge and styled my hair twice to show the different ways I can wear it. Most importantly, she gave me exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be going back to her and I recommend people request her specifically. Five stars for Vicki.

I found the cost to be deceiving as I booked it at a price advertised, only to be told it would be £30 extra for toner when in the salon. I felt the experience was almost confrontational, as he told me I could either have yellow hair or pay the extra. Saying that, the balyage was done beautifully and the skill I cannot deny was excellent. I just think the salon should be more open with costs and made this very clear beforehand.

I went here through Treatwell. PROS: after having to cancel due to an emergency, was able to be quickly rescheduled at no extra cost. Staff were friendly and attentive. CONS: my hair colour/toner faded from a soft chocolate tint to an extremely brassy (almost ginger) undertone really quickly. I had specifically asked to keep it cool and ashy so was really disappointed with the level of warmth. As the colour has faded, I can see that the lightening underneath was quite inconsistent, and the result is really patchy, pond-water blonde hair! I'm now saving up to try and have it fixed at another salon. If you just want a cut or your roots touched up, and you're on a budget, this place will do you fine. For more complex colouring jobs, definitely go somewhere slightly better quality.

I think the transformation picture speaks for itself... After lockdown I definitely needed a pick me up. I decided I wanted silver blonde hair and extensions (which I'd be pining after for the past 3 years). I went to visit Live True Brixton for a consultation with Viki and I was sold. She gave me so much information about what would work best for me with my hair type, lifestyle, the products I should use to maintain the colour, and how to look after my extensions. Feeling very confident I went and booked the colour + extensions service. My actual appointment was even better (made more fabulous by the fact my dog Hugo could spend the day with me getting pampered). The vibe in the salon was extremely chilled, which I really appreciated with how manic the world is at the moment! If you're someone who's very cautious about covid - the salon has taken a lot of measures to ensure everyone feels safe (screens between stations, hand sanitizers and face masks). Viki was extremely thorough and ensured everything was done perfectly, she even made sure to give extra time for my appointment in case the colour needed any tweaking. She's so easy to talk to it didn't feel like I was at the salon for 5 hours - the time flew by. The colour of my hair matched the extensions perfectly first time, everything was blended and styled and I left feeling amazing. I cant reccomend Viki enough. It's so hard to find a hairdresser who can do blondes, and do them well!
