I'm not generally a review writer, in fact this is my first ever, but I simply couldn't not. I had been growing my hair for over a year but decided it was time for a trim - decided to try out Mario's after reading so many good reviews and I was not disappointed. Not only did he give me an amazing cut that has restored my confidence, but it was unbelievably well priced at £12 - it was even more impressive given that I have curly hair which can be hard to handle. Given that the atmosphere was also really friendly, I really couldn't recommend this place enough! Will definitely be returning :)

Always struggled to find a good barber's in North London until I wandered into Mario's 7 odd years ago. Countless cuts from him and all of his staff over the years and every single one has been good. Wait times are long at peak times, but with good reason.

Dropped in today for the first time, staff were really friendly and Mario himself did a great job on my hair. He listened to me at the start which ultimately ended with me being happy at the end and I got the results I wanted. I cannot say I have gotten the same experience in other barbers in the locality. Great barber with very consistent result. Most of the barbers on this road are Turkish/Algerian and they're not very familiar with cutting Asian hair but Mario was very knowledgeable about how to cut it and gave me the best haircut compare to others. You won't be dissapointed.

Have been coming here since Feb 2019 (when I moved to London). Love the atmosphere, professional courtesy and attention to detail. Mario is very attentive and always great for a chat. Have tried a couple of different hairstyles and they’ve all worked out great. It’s walk in only (+cash only) so sometimes you have to wait, but pick your time and you’ll be fine - always well worth it! Feels like a proper community atmosphere, and I get a much better cut than more expensive options in London.

Fantastic barbers. Warm friendly atmosphere with great banter. On occasions I have had to accept the queue but it is always worth the wait. Hasan consistently delivers a great cut and seems to improve every time. Mario is ever present and always professional. Lukas makes a great cup of coffee:)

Mario's Barber is literally my favorite place. Firstly, all the barbers are super friendly and talkative. Everything is clean and just a brilliant atmosphere, no awkwardness that you often get at a barber shop. People of all walks come in there and if its your first time there you really won't like it is for long. In terms of the actual haircut, they are literally 10/10. My barber is Nick who really knows his craft and attends to all my needs. I told him one time that I wanted to change things up from my standard skin fade and he sad that my head shape and the way my hair grows would suit a different type of hair cut. He was right! he is super friendly and really knowledgeable and professional when it comes to cutting and styling hair. Literally can't say anything better about him nor about Mario's Barber's. 10/10 Krips

I've been going to Mario's on and off for years. I've never had a bad haircut, I always get a number 3 all over. He and his fellow barber's are always happy to banter, which makes it a pleasure to go in there, even if you have to wait because it's busy. If I could I would give 10/10, but Google only allows 5 max.

Best haircut I ever had. It is a shame that I can't go there again because I am going back to my city, but I wished there was a barber shop like Mario's back in my hometown. They are very professional, they take their time and you can have a nice talk with them and it is cheap. It is totally worth it.

Love this place and more importantly he is brilliant with my kids! - Seen a previous comment about mario calling a kid a girl?? Highly doubt that. My kids had a hair cut from another barber who messed it up massively, Took him too mario and he sorted it out without even charging me! The People here are friendly and always offer Tea & Coffee while you wait even the kids get a little treat from Mario after too! Great place and haven't found a better barbers yet!

Mario's is the best barbers in this part of town. A cut by luka is very good value for money at only £8 - I come in regularly and two haircuts by luka work out to the price of one at the barber I used to go to. Highly recommend

First time going and I'm definitely going back. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the guy but he had a "Why so serious?" tattoo. Attention to detail and even after asking to cut shorter twice he did it and really well done. Very happy. My new barber for sure. Normally go to my barber at The Bike Shed. Was on annual leave and wanted a quick trim before I went to the gym and came upon this gem of a place. For a tenner, and I'm not kidding, the haircut you get is simply the best in London! Got mine done with Mario himself and the passion and detail he puts in his work is unbelievable. The man takes his time and will only let go of he feels your hair is set right. Check out Mario's place. For a tenner, and his dedication to styling you, you can't go wrong.

The new barber shop 10 seconds down the road from the original one looks AMAZING. One of the barbers who had been there for a while has gone to start his own venture, however what a replacement Mario has found - Nick!! These guys bounce of each others energy to make Marios somewhere to go on the weekend and look forward to instead of just going to get your hair cut as a chore. Nice and spacious, funky decor, TV, papers, free coffee and the barbers banter easily makes this one of the best Barbers in London - If your ever in North London, even if your just passing through, would definitely recommend to pop in! Let me be honest. I have been going to Nick for a while and I am going bald. I was thinking of getting rid of it all (trust me, I am not disillusioned enough to think I can style some kind of faux hair piece and I actually do have a good shaped head to work the bald/shaved look) however, after a discussion about my hair (as you do) with one of my closest male friends, I was told that I have no reason to take it all off for a while because I have 'one tight looking fade'. This man knows what he is doing and I have no reason to go elsewhere. Great conversation and a great artisan.

I've used Mario's maybe 8 times in two years and am very happy to have found it. In my opinion the quality of cut is much higher than other places I've tried along Holloway, Seven Sisters or Caledonian Road, and even though I've now moved house to a few km away, this remains my barber of choice. Compared to others, I believe the difference is they spend a bit extra time (perhaps 20 minutes rather than 10) and will pause to check the hair looks right. Sadly Salim has just left, but with Mario's supervision, I'm sure the new recruit, Nick, will soon fill his shoes. Aside from cut quality, it's also the most sociable barbers I've ever seen, so bear in mind that if you arrive and the queue looks long, probably a couple of the patrons are just there for the atmosphere! It's hard to describe, but just one occasion was when Mario stopped cutting to haggle with a door-to-door knife seller, then when later the seller's colleague arrived, Mario subsequently offered to sell back the knifes he'd just bought at a profit ... sadly I can't do the story justice. Anyway, I strongly recommend, and in response to another reviewer commenting they were perhaps "too artisan" if you ask for a quicker cut I'm sure they will happily oblige. Doug
