Got a terrific haircut @ My Snug Room. Exactly what I wanted. The assigned hairstylist - Erika - did a fantastic job, she's very nice, accommodating and made me feel at ease. I really enjoyed the scalp massage included in the Ladies Cut. Got a 20% off the bill as it was my first visit - which is a bonus! I also got some hair care products from them, all products made in Japan and I am certain that I will enjoy using them! Overall, a fantastic experience and will definitely come back!

Had an appointment with Mai. It was my first appointment, and I saw some google reviews complimenting Mai with hair colouring so I’ve booked with her. I’m an asian with thin hair, and my current hair was a bit dirty yellow- brownish colour due to lots of bleachings, and I recoloured it to black 2 times but it faded out. I’ve asked Mai to recolour my hair to blue-black, which turned out beautifully. Amazing place with friendly staffs, this is probably the best asian hair salons (korean, japanese) I’ve even been to in London. Love it! Everything is great and nothing to complain. Starting from hairwash I was treated with so much care, and such nice sculp massages. My friend recommended a digital perm for my very straight thin hair a few years ago. It applies heat to the curlers during the perming process which produces a smoother curl rather than the frizzy curls and heavy layering of the eighties. Now I can wash my hair, comb it through, scrunch for a few seconds and leave it to dry naturally. The curls provide volume without the need for hairspray. And I can keep the length with just a few feather layers on the ends. I now make an annual visit to My Snug Room for a re-perm 😊. Be warned, Kenji is very careful and strict on perming dyed hair to avoid damage.

It’s my first time here in My Snug Room, I found this place as I was searching through google the best Japanese hair straightening in London and My Snug Room was one of them. Looking through different salon reviews, this salon by far has the highest rate and positive reviews not just on Japanese hair straightening but in all their services. So I tried the Japanese hair Straightening today and I had Ericka as my hairdresser. All of their staff and hairdressers are from Japan and were all very friendly and accommodating upon my arrival. They’ve serve me with free drinks and make sure I was comfortable enough before starting my treatment. Erika was very kind and friendly and easy to talk to with my hair concerns. She made sure to cut and style my hair the way I wanted to. I was so surprise as to how my hair turned out as I normally have very think and frizzy hair, because of the Japanese hair treatment, it was so straight and shinny plus Ericka cut it perfectly to make my hair more lighter since i have very many hair strands. I loved it since she was able to achieve the layer hairstyle that I want and even made it lighter. I would definitely recommend this salon and would definitely come back. 2 thumbs up for them! 🙂👍🏻👍🏻

Erika and her assistant Rumi were so professional and advised against me going the strongest perm and they were totally correct. My hair is beautiful and wavy just as I wanted and it was surprisingly quicker than I expected too. This was my first visit @my snug room. Greatly appreciated the measure that's placed to make it safe during current situation. All staff had mask on through out, and during contact with clients, they had mask and visor. A massive thanks to Kentaro for a beautiful momoko straightening last week!!! He was friendly, polite and attentive throughout. Spent hours on my hair as it's long and when he finished, it looked amazing. I am delighted to have found this cozy little shop. I had a digital perm and Erika did an amazing job. Having seen the dried ends of my hair, she made a good effort of applying protective lotion while she kept checking to make sure my hair can withstand the heat of the perming machine. She gave me good cut and perm, with me ending up leaving the shop happily with bouncy lovely curls which I like so much. The other staff Muji who washed my hair was also friendly and caring. the hairdresser was very friendly and nice. I showed her a picture of how I want my hair cut (picture2), and after hair cut is the two picture following. I really like the front, i think she got what I wanted, but on the back and on the side, i think she didn't quite got it. some hair still sticking out, seemed to need a bit more fine cut on the finishing. I asked about it "the back is not very flat, seemed to stick out..." she said "don't worry about it"...? I got the hair cut when they are quite busy in there, may be that was why she didn't pay too much attention to my question at the end... to be fair, overall it was not a horrible first time experience. 😊

I am very pleased with my hair! This is my first time having the Japanese straightening done in England—I used to go in California when I lived in the states. The salon is clean and the employees are very polite and welcoming. They offer beverages and are very careful to explain what they do before doing it on your head. I had my services in the downstairs area with lots of air filters. I felt very safe as everyone was masked. Aya and her associate were very thorough with my hair, which is naturally very thick and curly. I was sorry I didn’t take any before pictures! They even took me back early as I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment. They also performed a recommended Olaplex treatment which helped make my hair even softer and silkier. I will be back to My Snug Room to have the same process done before I move to Japan next spring! ありがとうございました!

From the moment you enter the salon, they will take care of your coats, bags, and all other accessories that will bother you during your treatment. My hair stylist Erica has been extremely good. She asked me a lot of questions before doing anything to my hair. My hair habit, how fast it grows, how easy the perm will go, etc. She then makes a decision how and where to put up the perm. She is very communicative as well even though you might think that Japanese hair dressers are less talkative than English ones. I highly recommend you to visit this salon. It is a very good value of money!

Added bonus is you get to lie down when having you hair washed which is so much for comfortable than a regular salon chair where the sinks digs into your neck.

Wow - I won't go anywhere else. I used to go to a cheaper place but it took twice as long and I had to get it re-done more than once which would damage my hair. My African American 3b/c root touch up was done at snugroom in ~2.5 hours with minimal processing time which will keep my hair much healthier over time. Thanks for also recommending keratin in between so I could touch up only every 6 months Vs 3. I also got a great cut which is included in the treatment. There's WiFi so I can work while getting my hair done and they serve tea and small snacks. Thanks so much!!!

They Ruined My Perm, Then Fixed It (It wasn't actually ruined, but it wasn't great - partly due to my own unpreparedness) I came to My Snug Room a month ago on the recommendation of a friend, who had gotten a digital perm from Kentaro and loved it. I walked in and although Kentaro wasn't in, I still wanted a digital perm so they fit me in right there and then. I envisioned a natural, wavy/curly style (think effortless shoulder length Korean idol waves) that wouldn't need much styling in the mornings. But I did not say this clearly nor show any pictures of what I wanted. Instead, I wasn't prepared because I had just walked in off the street. I was seen by Kenjiro, who cut and washed my hair before started the chemical treatment. I sat for the process, which in total was probably just over three hours long, but when I left I was a bit nervous about my perm as I was worried that the curls were too small tight and started high up, which would mean that they would be frizzier and curlier, not the more natural curls that I wanted. (I have just over shoulder length hair). I waited the three days that was recommended before washing my hair - and my fears were somewhat true. They were messier, tighter, and started higher up than I'd envisioned - around the top of my ears, making me look like my hair fanned out like the bottom of a triangle. I really didn't like it. So that same evening, I went back to the salon around fifteen minutes before the advertised closing time, to see whether I could get it fixed. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I walked in and Kenjiro said I could get it treated immediately. All I said was that I wasn't as happy with the style now that I had washed my hair myself and seen what it would be like. I was expecting to have to book another appointment, but he personally fit me in straight away. I asked to have a bit of the top relaxed , so that the curls started just under my ears and so would look more natural. The process this time took just under an hour an a half, well over closing time. There were still one or two other clients in the salon, but I was definitely one of the last ones there. At the end, I was really pleased and relieved with the look - relaxing just a couple inches of it made all the difference, and I wasn't charged anything for it to be fixed. They were really attentive (as before) and made sure to tell me to come back if I wasn't happy with the result this time. Although it still wasn't exactly what I had imagined originally, it looked pretty good - and one month on, it still looks great! In short, although the perm was initially pretty awful, the team were happy to help fix it and were very accommodating. Their service and attitudes were always amazing, and highly professional. Although I didn't like the initial results, their attitude towards correcting my hair is why they deserve good ratings. And the haircut was really good. If you are thinking of getting a digital perm, get it here. This review is not meant to put you off - more give you a sense of what the experience was like for me. It is definitely worth it. But be more prepared than I was - go in for a consultation with the stylists and ask around about who is best at/most comfortable with your preferred style. Bring in lots of clear images of the style you want. Different stylists have different styles! And wait for your preferred stylist if they aren't there. My stylist still did a good job in the end, but it may have been less stressful for everyone if I had been better at communicating exactly who and what I wanted.

A rustic, comfortable place to get your hair cut. In the ground level, there seems to be only 2 cutting stations but go down and you'll find more. Ryoko's cut is certainly an expert's. And do ask for yuzu tea when offered; it was heavenly.
