I don't often write reviews but I'm so pleased with my most recent cut from Porters that I felt I should. You certainly get what you pay for here, which is an attentive and honest barber that really know what they're doing (Natalie was my most recent and was excellent). Have a beer while you wait for your turn in the chair and prepare to leave looking sharp. Thanks Porters.

The haircut was great. Natalie paid a lot of attention to how MY hair actually grows and tailored MY cut to MY head. Experience has taught me only about 10% of barbers show this level of experience and attention. She was 5* I had a look though the website before entering and was over promised “In our establishment, a complimentary drink welcomes each client. Feel free to choose from a selection of teas, beer or scotch.” There is even talk of a fancy coffee machine which appears to not be in the premises any more. The actual cut was great. The shop was clean and styled nicely, and the team seem like a nice bunch. Maybe the website just needs a refresh.

I booked a head shave and beard trim for my Partner for his birthday. Guiseppe was his stylist and did such a fantastic service! He took alot of care and time and very friendly and chatty. This place is absolutely fantastic! I travel up to 60 minutes every time to get a cut here and I was never disappointed ! The barbers are fun and open, very carefull, thoughtful and skilled, really professional and always up for a challenge. The place is so beautifully made and with so much attention to detail and care for every decorations, that just they just carry a bit of a story with them! If I didn't had the haircuts before, I would just try it out once, out of curiosity, because you can't make this place so beautifully crafted and ever expect just another average haircut! They are fantastic and I can't express that enough! I also love this place for the fact that it a small business and the professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit behind it i my opinion deserves a honest review and a proper support !👏🏻 I ll be coming back for many years to come!

Ali is by far the best barber I’ve found south of the river. I’ve seen him a couple of times now and he consistently gets it bang on the money. The guy has meticulous attention to detail and really takes his time on all the finer details of my cut. He knows his art. Friendly conversation every time as well. Top man, top barber.

Went there for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I had a hot towel shave with Cezar who took great care of me. The online booking process was really easy and smooth. The salon is nice and tidy, definitely recommending.

Really great experience. Staff were friendly, polite and listen in great detail to what you want from your hair cut. I took in a picture of what I wanted and the barber kept asking specific questions about the details, which was great. The actual place is designed really well and looks great. It looks and feels very high class. Price wise, yes it is more than other barbers in the area, but I was very happy with the cut and the overall experience. I will definitely be returning.

Very nice barber with good atmosphere and nice team. Job is precise and you can feel that they care a out the quality of the service. However when the website advertise a £27 service for : Gentleman Wash Cut £27 Pre cut consultation, wash and condition, scalp massage, cut, finish and style. You only get the haircut which is kind of tricky.

This is the coolest barbers I've been too. You are personally welcomed, your coat is taken, and a refreshment is offered. That's before you've even got into a chair!!!!... The haircut is not your normal average cut, is an experience. I live over an hour away and wouldn't think twice to go back again, it's that good.

So, I walk paster Porters everyday. Its Always busy and i see a lot of young guys in there waiting. Which kinda of put me off! However, I went in today and had a consultation with Wazza, an older barber, who put me at easy. He was really nice and as we got talking, he told me he had been cutting hair for a year. He recommended the kinda cut that would suit me and set about cutting my hair, paying very careful attention to detail. The whole experience was a very pleasant and relaxing one, I will visit Porters again and would recommend it to anyone.

Went in for a #3 on the back and sides, scissors on top. Lovely atmosphere, engaging and fun staff, and obviously if you're into being pampered this is the spot. Normally takes my barber 5 minutes to accomplish this task for £8.00 though; at Porters, it took 25m for the same result and £27.00 (!!). Didn't get the wash, scalp massage, product, etc that this price point was supposed to provide. I kind of liked the experience, but nothing will convince me to go back.

Great looking place and pretty comfortable environment. I cant speak to their haircuts as i had a beard trim but i wasn't blown away; there was lots of bells and whistles, drink, hot towels, razor shave etc and it looked alright but when i saw it properly in the mirror after, i realised it was pretty uneven, even my neck (which was razored) one side was smooth and the other stubbly. similarly he had missed long hairs here and there, even on areas that were close shaved like my cheeks. I cant argue about the price (£15) but I ended up having to fix it at home before I went out which isn't really what you want when you go to get a trim at a barbers.

Best cuts ever! The staff are amazing and make you feel welcome, i always get cuts whenever I have a special occasion and they make sure I leave with the best cut ! San is a legend and as well accomplished barber who delivers a epic service with proper banter ! i will be booking a appointment again soon !

I had such a great experience at Porters today with Ers. I was super impressed that even though they were a barbers they were happy to do a female haircut. My hair is short so not so different from a men’s cut but they were very welcoming regardless. Ers did a really precise job of cutting my hair and gave me some suggestions of what he could do as I wasn’t really sure what I wanted. Really happy with the end result - I will most certainly be back and will also recommend my husband to switch barbers! Oh and they do great coffee too!

A superb experience. The barbers take a genuine interest in you and what you'd like from the service, the atmosphere is relaxing - you want to spend time there beyond the cut alone. Hugely recommended if you want something a bit luxurious.

I went here as my regular barber was closed. The place is great, the staff are all really nice and friendly and it’s a really nice concept. The prices are pretty high though for what is actually done. It feel like the cuts are drawn out to charge more. I will go back to my regular barber (in the Market)

Went for a beard trim. Not boasting but mine is on the bigger size, so takes some work to get it looking good. One hour later and the best trim the beard has had (I have been to others). It dose take some one to know what they are doing. As for cost, it was very good for what I got, and I would have been happy to pay a little more even. As for the posts above, if you want modern fast turnaround cheep cut then this place is not for you (e.g treated like castle at milking time). If however you are after how things used to be and being treated like a valuable customer then give it a try. Note: Good service is just that not gentrification or just for hipsters.

Great service, and the in-house bar is an interesting and effective idea. The prices are definitely on the high/premium side; they really should advertise the price list (they do so only for the drinks, unfortunately) so that people can get an idea upfront without any shocks or awkward conversations.
