I love going here to get my haircut. The hairdressers are artists and the teachers teach the art of hairdressing. Really the best place to go for a haircut or colour n cut. The vibe is amazing and it is fun to check out other client's transformations.

It is a lovely experience. I went for an inverted Bob on wavy hair. I had a very skilled Chinese student to take care of me and he did a fab job. From what I saw, all students seem to be already very competent and the teachers are checking every step of the cut. Be prepared to stay about 3 hours, but it is really worth your time. There is a beautiful energy there and I will definitely renew the experience.

Haircut by Sylvia Salerno and hair coloured by Pink Grubb. Magical cut! Beautiful colour!! Love this place. When I've had my hair cut by students it's still been a great experience. The teachers are passionate about their art! Even when things go wrong the teachers make sure you go out looking great! I've paid up to £100 for a cut and the hairdressers haven't listened and messed up. At least here I know they are guided by professionals!!

I have had a great experience so far on both occasions I went for colour. On this occasion, the student who looked after me, Lorraine, was particularly skilful. She went out of her way to ensure I had the best possible treatment in all respect. She said she enjoyed doing my hair - and you could tell she did. Credit to her as my hair is not the easiest to care for. All round a lovely atmosphere of great service, care, respect for the customers and students all nurtured by the supervisor whose name I have forgotten (sorry!). Highly recommended - just be patient as it takes longer than normal salon.

Went in with a pretty short pixie cut and not much hope for my little tiny head. Had an appintment back in spring. I believe it was with Sarah. She washed my hair and put no conditioner after, so after given that I have long hair it was very hard to comb. That alone took over 20min. She was very meticulous, shy and a bit nervous. I liked that she was carefull to follow what I wanted to achieve. She didn't know how to do my Kim K. fringe so she asked the teacher to cut it. The teacher was quite grumpy and after she cut it I pointed out that one side was longer than the other. She came to cut it and then snapped at me that this is an academy not a salon and then left. I paid £12 for classic and would do it again. All in all took a bit over 2h and I left with a nice haircut as I asked for. Don't be afraid to go there as they are very carefull with your hair and focused on what you ask. I paid to go to Rush and they totally butchered my nice haircut/style given by Sarah. After it grows I will stay with Sassoon Vidal only.

Have been to various Sassoon hair salons over the past 40 years. I just like the way they style hair. All my experiences have been good. I use the City salon as it was convenient when working in London and now retired it is a direct link by train . Also I have been using the same stylist for a number of years. After my cut and blow dry I feel like a new woman when I leave the salon.

I remember going to make an appointment on January 9th, the staff member said that it will only be available on the 17th. I said to leave the UK on the 11th. They said that on the 10th could come and try the chance,result everything is going very well. Stylist is from Singapore, He is very careful .His teacher's hair cutting skills are proficient. This experience is very satisfactory. The hairstyle is very good.

Brilliant over many years. If you can spare the bit of extra time it's well worth it. I haven't had my hair cut since February because of Covid restrictions, and I'm still getting complements now in late November on the cut. I do hope you can get back soon.

I have been very lucky with the stylists and am proud to say that I have had experiences with almost all of them! The only downside is that my loyalty as a customer has not been rewarded in any way... This could be space for massive improvement!

I got a wash, cut and style from Peyton Y. this afternoon in London. Although she is still completing her schooling, she was extremely professional. Before she began the wash, we chatted about what my vision was, how I style my hair, etc. Throughout the cut and style she remained focused on what I wanted and matched my style to my typical everyday look - just what I was after. She was extremely friendly and it took no time for us to begin chatting like old friends... even though we were both in masks. I have extremely thick, wavy hair and she took the time needed to do a great job. I felt really confident with Peyton cutting my hair. It seemed like she had been doing this for years! Thanks again Peyton, wishing you all the best as you continue in your career. Vidal Sassoon Academy was also very well managed, reasonably priced, and had all necessary COVID procedures in place. Would highly recommend.

I tried this place out (I usually go to Toni&Guy Academy) and wasn't hugely impressed. Although my experience there was mostly fine, they seem to have students that have been training a much shorter amount of time, which I wouldn't pay £13 for again. My hairdresser had never done layers before, and blow-dried my hair in a way that made it stick out with static - luckily the teacher came and did it again to fix it. The time on the website (3 hours starting at 9.15) is a bit misleading - the morning class actually finishes at 1pm. I'm not too disappointed with my haircut, but I don't love it. Of course you take a risk when you get a trainee hairdresser, but for £13 this was not good value, and I'd recommend going to other places that charge £5 or less.

Charli & Naomi have looked after my hair for more than 2 years and I couldn't be happier with their service. Every time I have had my haircut here by Robert I have been over the moon with the cut and service (he also has exceptional chat!). He has helped me grow my hair from very short to chin length and it has looked great along the way, even when at more awkward lengths. I fully recommend anyone to go get a cut with Robert!

Had a great haircut for only £13 (£3 If a student)! Had a great haircut by Lucy who was on a week long course. When you arrive you go into a big room while assessors walk around asking you if you are having a simple cut/colour/creative cut etc and give you a coloured card to match what you ask for. Be weary that if you want a plain trim or haircut that you say from outright that is what you want (I was having a big cut, but into a simple bob and they were asking me if I wanted ‘a traditional bob with a modern twist’ which means you’d end up with a crazy haircut!). Once you have your card you get called into a salon room with about 7 others. The assessor will come in and go around and speak to you, asking you what you want done cut/colour-wise. Then the hairdressers come in and talk through with you- this is your chance to really explain what you want (I saved some photos on my phone so there was no confusion of what I wanted). The assessor comes round and explains to them what to do then they begin. The assessor checks in at all times so it’s as ‘watched’ as it can be. My hairdresser had been a hairdresser for 3 years and I know this was similar to many of the hairdressers in this particular salon. Lucy was saying that the way they are taught to cut in the Vidal Sassoon style means they blow dry only with paddle brushes (so no bouncy curly blowdrys) they then straighten it (not curly hair) and then it gives a true reflection of a cut and no imperfections can be hidden. The assessor spent a good amount of time when she had finished assessing the cut and tweaking any bits (there was nothing major!). I arrived at 1.30, was called to salon at 1.50 and left at 5.00. Although it was a long time I had a big cut and was the last one to leave. It was a very enjoyable experience, did not feel stressful at all. As like any hairdressers, everyone has different experiences and opinions but I would defiantly recommend to anyone after my experience today.

I love that there are professionals surveiling the students work and giving you ideas for what fits your face shape and would be most flattering. It feels like you are being treated by professional stylists. All students I've worked with have come from all around the world and are currently working in the industry. It's only 4 stars based on that every time I've been it hits around the 4 hour mark and the front desk on my last visit was on the ruder side and you feel like cattle being brought in to the building with no direction on which room you need to be in - and if you've never been it can be a very confusing space to navigate. Overall, imagine the intimacy of a small salon - offered coffee, water, tea, looked after with your stylist, head massage while hair wash, however with 10 rooms of at least 15 stylists simultaneously working at once. They do a great job of balancing.

Bit of love it or hate it going on in previous reviews. Let's restore some order here folks. I will join my fellow local Google Guides in recommending this salon for its courteous customer care from coat taking to comfortably seated to offers of tea, detailed and patient colour consultation and careful explanation of procedures and expected end results. Nothing commenced until l had decided on which option suited my current sadly part bleached hair and long grey regrowth but also complimented my skin tone and age. It was a lovrly appointment Daine couldn't have been more professional or personable than if she were Vidal himself. We chatted aimably, timings were great. I had reading material while she mixed colours or we waited for the colour to take. She finished my hair off with a lovely colour saving conditioner and a hugely flattering blow dry that l wished coukd emulate. Oh the colour, it's a hugely flattering combination of brunette (back to au naturel)/ plummy/ vibrant red tones. It's a pleasant salon on the edge of the equally pleasant paternoster square by St Paul's tube so easy to reach on the central line. Good colourists are hard to find. Look Daine up.

I left with the haircut that I asked for and Morgan advised clearly before cutting what length of bob would be best. Thank you very much Morgan and Vidal Sassoon salon for being courteous and professional. I have been complimented on my hair since. I just wish Sassoon still made their original shampoo in the brown bottles scented with almond oil. Please bring this back.

Charlie and Naomi have looked after my hair for a long time and travelling the extra distance to the City to see them is definitely worth it. Charlie knows exactly how my hair behaves (it is very straight so any imperfections in the cut are immediately obvious) and understands what kind of image I like. Her cuts are always perfect and last really well which is so important for short hair! Naomi has always given excellent colour advice and gets the colouring just right - it looks natural but vibrant! I love seeing them in their new environment - the Vidal Sassoon salon has a professional but intimate feel to it, and staff are very friendly. Definitely worth the trip into town!

If you're looking for the most innovative+fashion forward haircuts from the sweetest people ever, you should go here! I initially went in for a haircut but ended up with the honor of modeling for a student named Yu (batch of 2019) who was the most talented, skilled and caring hairstylist ever. Charli (stylist) Naomi (colourist): Charli is a fab stylist, definitely one for keeps. I’ve followed her to the City Sassoon and totally trust her to look after me. Her suggestions always help and that’s exactly what we all need, whether it’s the regular trim or a restyle. If I leave it a bit longer between visits the style always lasts perfectly. Naomi is a fab colourist and I always let her do just what she suggests :) a change is always a pick me up. Both of these lovely ladies are a delight to visit. You arrive and if you are a facebook vidal hair model you pass reception with a free note (theyd have your name). If you are a student or nurse or senior hou pay 5£. All others pay full price I believe 10£. You can call to make an appointment but there are also walkins to cover the cancellations.Then you walk theough a hallway with frames pictures of hair designs and arrive in an indistrial light funky hall with a big staircase in the middle. There you are asked to take a seat. Stylist teachers will walk around looking at everyones hair and ask questions like "do you want colour" (youd need a skin test for that) or how short would you like it. Sometimes they ask if you are comfortable on stage where you cant be on your phone or talk and the stylist cuts your hair in front of 40-80 students often from a foreign country with translators. The stylist will pick you and bring you to one of the rooms downstairs or upstairs. They offer you water or a hot drink. Toilets are to the left when you enter the industrial hall. The industrial hall also has an instagrammable photowall where the students and stylists like to take pictures of you afterwards. A student and a teacher will discuss your haircut and sometimes the students exchange you around amonst themselves because someone wanted curly hair or someone else wanted to cut a bob. Then the haircut starts. You leave nicely styled with a blowdry. On the way out you can purchase hairdressers merchandize like professional scissors or brushes. Pardon my ignorance but I had never heard of vidal sassoon before I got my hair cut from a wonderful young woman called Faye who is a student at this academy. In my defence, I don't even own a comb so knowing anything about vidal sassoon would have been next to impossible. I had a 3 month past overdue asymmetrical bob that I went in with and walked out of this place with the most fashionable bob I could have ever asked for; for a mere £12. The attention to detail and precision with which my hair was cut was something. Faye did any amazing job under the occasional guidance of Damien. I wish you all the best as I know you have a bright future ahead of you given the talent you possess. Hope to see you for a tidy up session before you graduate. Thanks again and all the best.
