Such an amazing experience from start to finish. I was really nervous about going to a new hairdresser, despite having seen all the wonderful photos and reviews. Tope made me feel so relaxed and at ease right from the start. her knowledge and understanding of hair and products is incredible. She took her time to explain everything to me and not only was it incredibly relaxing but my hair is just unreal. I can't believe these are my curls!! I feel like a new woman! Thank you so much. This woman is a gifted artist. I haven’t found anyone I could truly trust with my curls and as result my hair was in a state! But the care and attention to detail, and the confidence that comes with knowing your craft is will exhibited by Temitope. My first time visiting Tope and I will absolutely be making the trip again! We had a good chat about my hair, Tope asked lots of questions about how I take care of my hair and products I use etc, then she cut it after we agreed how much she could chop off (the perfect length), washed it (so relaxing with the steam!), did a protein treatment, and then styled and diffused. She did all of this in an hour when I can be sat there just diffusing my hair for that amount of time, I hope I’ll learn to replicate her method! Tope’s own products are clearly made with great knowledge as well as love for curly haircare and my curls have held beautifully the rest of the day. It’s rare that I leave a salon without tying my hair straight up so THANK YOU for making me feel fantastic!

I’ve been to Topé twice now for a steam treatment and a curly cut. She works wonders with my hair and knows exactly what to do to make it look and feel amazing. The first time I saw her I had pintura highlights which really added depth to my hair and have lasted so well since. I would highly recommend to anyone with any form of curl! Tope was on time and communicated well before the appointment. I have type 4 hair and had a curly/coily cut and wash n go the end result was good, it was fluffy and looked really nice. I have coloured hair which is high porosity and though the end style was nice I can tell even now that my hair won't last 3 days let alone a week as it needs more moisture than a hair juice (it is beginning to frizz and I haven't even slept on it yet 😅). However, that isn't a key issue for me, as my main purpose was getting a trim and shape. My issues arose from the washing stage as it was far too rough for me (I literally have never had someone rub my scalp that hard). We discussed and she was made aware that there was no issue of product build up as I shampoo once a week and that I have a very dry scalp, but I feel like that didn't indicate to her that the usual technique for a more oily scalp with product build up would not be effective in this instance. The washing was very painful and most definitely caused abrasions, which was why I experienced burning on certain areas of my scalp when the Marissa strengthening treatment was applied, which isn't okay. I understand for her my hair was very tangled, but the level of pain was intense, the wet brush would barely touch my ends before she would be begin to detangle from the root regardless of how many strands were ripped out (to the point that even now as I write this it is throbbing in the areas that she experienced the most difficulty with.) I understand time is money, and she had another client booked in after me, but I feel like a lot of pain could have been avoided had more consideration for my hair been in place versus time.

2nd Steam treatment and curly cut with Tope and always leave me lost for words as to how amazing my hair looks. Tope is wonderful she takes time to find out about your hair type, how you wear it ect before making a decision with you as to what the cut is going to be like, which I love as it make me feel confident that my hair will undoubtedly look its best which it always does. I went to Topè or my first ever curly hair cut this week (July 30th 2020) and my experience was just fantastic! She’s a lovely woman who made me feel SO welcome in her home where she gave me a totally new look! I was anxious about getting my hair cut professionally for the first time but I felt comfortable from start to finish as she would always check things with me before she went in with the scissors! Apart from my fabulous new cut, I also loved the deep treatment with steam! My hair felt luscious afterwards so I definitely recommend trying that treatment too! All in all, I had a great time and I have come home with a new cut that I’m in love with! I highly recommend going to Topè for your next curly cut!

I went to Mahogany Naturals for my first curly cut, I was so worried because I'm only a couple months into my CGM journey and didnt think my hair was curly enough to be cut in the curly style. Boy was I wrong! Tope was so lovely from the get go, she was able to identify what was wrong and talked me through products, what my hair needed and how to style it myself at home. Amazing products. During lockdown while people were going round looking like cousin It, I was looking more like Uncle Fester!. I'm not sure why but my hair was falling out. Maybe my age, poor diet or stress but I was recommended to use this products. I have been using them for 8 weeks and my hair is so thick and soft. My hair has never felt so good. I had my curly cut with Tope this morning. She was very warm and welcoming which put me at ease instantly. She asked what I wanted from the cut today and then advised on what she thought would work for me prior to proceeding to cut my hair. She then wash and styled it for me. Her ACV shampoo was used which was lovely on my hair, then a little bit of her leave in followed by the gel and diffused. I left with soft, bouncy, healthy curly hair and a slight twist to my usual style. I was very happy with my experience and would not hesitate in recommending her services.

I had an amazing experience with Tope doing my curly cut. I was nervous because it was the first time I have had a proper curly specialist cut and I had been cutting my own hair for the previous couple of years. As soon as I walked in and met Tope I felt at ease, she is so friendly and lovely. She listened carefully to what I wanted and didn’t want. She actually paid attention when I said I didn’t want to loose much length and was careful to take just a little off. Lovely location for a salon! The view across the fields is beautiful and calming. Tope has been taking great care of my hair for a few years now. I had an amazing relaxing experience at the Mahogany Naturals Studio. The studio is at quiet and beautiful location slightly away from fast city life which is what I look for when I want to relax.
