Always a great cut at a very reasonable price. Fantastic staff and a lovely setting, wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Opening hours make it tricky with work, but just spotted they do appointments when writing this! Will try to be in even more!

Scott’s is easily the best barber in Newcastle. The original Victorian interior is pretty amazing and you feel as though you really have stepped back in time - it has an authenticity which makes it completely unique. Staff are always friendly and professional and are highly skilled – they are craftsmen and it’s obvious that they really care about their work and making sure you are happy. Cuts are consistently great and prices are very reasonable. Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

Best barbers I've ever been to. Professional, friendly and helpful. Always good chat but nothing forced or awkward. Skin fades are the best and very consistent, care is always taken to make sure I'm satisfied. Won't break the bank either. Only suggestion is to perhaps get more seats and add a student discount option.

Fantastic traditional barbershop. It's like stepping back in time a hundred years ! Always get a fantastic cut off all the barbers all trained to a high standard. Reasonably priced for a city centre barber but do expect a wait at peak times.

Was passing through Newcastle and popped in for a quick beard trim. Great historic place, barely changed in a hundred years, with friendly staff and excellent service. Open early on Saturday (but don't expect it to be empty!) Highly recommend.

Simply the best place to go for a haircut in the North East. Very well mannered , excellent barbers who always dress in a manner accustomed to bygone eras. Always waistcoat and black trousers with a white shirt. Original mirrors , chairs , cut throats, telephone on wall that you have to put your ear next to, to listen to the conversation, brilliant. All in all though, it is the ambience and the lads who work here who make you go back again and again. This is no ordinary barbers, it is the best barbers. You must try it, you will not be disapponted. Excellent place steeped in history.

Truly great traditional barbershop. There's no bells or whistles or any flash branding. This is just a group of guys who know barbering, know it well and let that talk for itself. Really friendly atmosphere and what I imagine it must have been like going to the barbers 60 or 70 years ago.

The oldest, and by far the best barber shop in Newcastle. The shop interior stands pretty much as it did in 1919 when it first opened. The staff are all very accomplished barbers, and the conversation is always diverse, engaging, and quite often hilarious. Unlike many other barber shops, G Scott are also happy to cut women's hair. If you want a prime example of a Northern institution, soaked in the heritage of Newcastle, then look no further. The prices are realistic, if perhaps, dare I say it, a little underpriced for the sheer quality of the service and product. I'll leave it there. Pay them a visit.

Visiting Newcastle from the south and decided i needed a haircut. Looked up barbers near me and George Scott came up. Reviews were good and it was decided. Allan cut my hair and a very good job he made of it too. Great place.

Complete find. Had my hair cut by a guy who has just finished a PhD in American History. 1) He cut both my beard and hair to a high standard. 2) Genuine conversation. Good craic. 3) £13 quid. Good value. 4) Didn't have to wait ages; the wait was only 5 mins. Plenty of hairdressers working. 5) I'm going again.

My third place I tried since I came to Newcastle and been looking for a solid barber. First two were absolute disappointments. Well now I will look no more. This is not a Barbers, this is an institution and part of the Fabric of the City. The barbers them selves have been there since 1895 and don't look a day over 30, must be the black& white wax that keeps them looking so young! You must go for a proper gentleman's haircut.

The only place I would ever consider getting my hair cut. The staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable and can give you advice on everything from haircuts and shaves to pans and records. Was, is, and always will be, the best barbers bar none.
