I have been using James since i was 7yrs old, I don't live close and have to travel 20mins but 30yrs ago my dad popped in for a haircut and liked the owner at the time Alan that much that we kept using it. I won't use anyone else for my hair, I once used a Turkish barbers and instantly regretted my decision. James is friendly, polite and a top bloke. Always makes sure he has goof staff (although I don't use the other staff myself) Can't recommend this place enough.

Moved around the corner to this place in september and they're so good. Even if i move again i'll still make the effort to travel to use this barbers if i have to. Very friendly, easy to chat to, excellent prices and really good at listening to what you want and making sure you're happy with your cut. 10/10

Getting a haircut every few weeks at James's Barber shop and always the same great outcome. Staff is very friendly to which you will always find something to talk about. Would never change this barber shop to any other and on the plus side it is great value for money. Continue your great work!

Probably the best gents barbers in Newcastle, its somewhat old fashioned in its concept, such as the fact that it's a no frills kind of barbers. By that I mean it doesn't rely on gimmicks or fancy lighting or heavily adorned decor. It's exactly what you want, a no nonsense place where you can get your haircut in a nice friendly environment whilst watching the TV and chatting with the staff. The added bonus is the speed, at peak times, they will have three staff servicing customers, which is the main reason I have used James Kilty Barbering for around the last 15 years, even during peak times, I'm in and out in under an hour. The last thing anybody would wish to do, is spend hours waiting for a cut on either your only day off, or when you need a quit cut. Highly recommended and I cannot stress that enough. Opening times are 9am to 5.45pm Monday to Friday 8am - 4.45pm Saturday. Bank holidays and such will need to be checked.
