Fantastic gents barbers and great local business. Great atmosphere and friendly team, always feel welcome when visiting! Have been using Mr Tillys for around 3+ years now and will never change, currently book in every 2 - 3 weeks with Jordan who is always helpful and polite and does a cracking skin fade!! Jordan is been great every time I've visited. I'm very peculiar and attentive to all sides of a beard and haircut and he was very happy to comply to any requests I've had. He's definitely the person to see and tip for a good service.

Great shop with nice friendly staff. Could be deemed slightly expensive for those who aren't City folk, like myself. However, I had a haircut better than I have had in quite a while. I gave a very vague description of what I would like and 20 minutes later, with very good descriptions of each stage of the process, I had a head that looked good again; as good as my head can anyway.

Best place in town been going to Phil for the last couple years wouldn't change to anyone else, always a spot on cut, good chat from all the lads in there and friendly place. Do not hesitate to try if you've not been before!

You can expect an excellent quality cut from Mr Tillys, with friendly staff, welcoming environment and modern store design. I have been a customer here since 2015 and its the only barber I go to in newcastle. Despite the excellent cuts, their customer service has hindered. Recently, during a rather hectic day I missed my appointment and was phoned for a rebook. They offered me a later slot which I accepted, but kindly asked for a confirmation text and was rudely declined. Not exactly asking them to move mountains, just 5 seconds to confirm with a text so I've got the reminder, but instead was accused of costing them money and spoken to like a fool. Embarrassing and offensive! Like I said, Mr Tillys has been a favourite of mine for a few years and its a shame to see that their customer service deterioate. Update: My description of the specific situation is not inaccurate in any way. I was not told that it was their policy instead i was told, and I quote "there was no point" in sending a confirmation. At no point did I ask for the confirmation "closer to the time" I asked for it after the call. Im a very forgetful person especially during this period of time so a simple 5 second text and you would have had a customer, then and likely for the forseeable future. If you dont text numbers, just say that rather than tell me its my fault that youre losing money because believe me ive forked out plenty of money over the years to Mr Tillys when I could have gotten a cut cheaper elsewhere. I wasnt rude about it either, in fact I appologise for forgetting, but I do not apologise for the way I have charactarised this review because I believe it to be accurate. I have always been a loyal customer at Mr Tillys for the past 3 to 4 years, in fact its the only barber I go to, so there is no reason to believe I wouldnt have shown up for a 2nd time, it was a simple case of being bogged down and forgetting about the appointment. I respect that its difficult to run a business at this time, believe me i have my own things to manage as well, but i refuse to believe that it should hinder customer service. I have adjusted my star rating to reflect upon the quality of cuts you can expect at Mr tillys, the frendliness of the staff, and the welcomeness of the shop, but I am of the view that the situation could have been dealt with on the phone with a simple "no, we cant text numbers" rather than "there is no point".

First time having my hair cut here after a barber at another venue butchered my hair (shaved off my crown and everything). Andy gave me a brilliant fade/messy on top and repaired the damage done. Fantastic cut would definitely come back again!

Went in there yesterday evening for a quick cut, brilliant job, I think Aaron cut my hair and did a great job exactly what I was going for, love the atmosphere in it as well

Mr Tillys is a cool, little barbers hidden down the back streets of Newcastle. The staff are really friendly and will often offer you a beer or soft drink whilst waiting. All of the barbers know their stuff and you'll be pleased with your hair cut.

This shop is very welcoming, and Andy took his time with the cut, and stuck by what I asked for (skinfade and just thinning on top). Haircut is good, and the beard trim was done as requested. The lineup, however, had a lot of imperfections that I wasn't able to see whilst in the seat, and the moustache area wasn't touched at all (lineup should work on all the edges, not just the beard line). And foils wouldn't be my instrument of choice for shaving the neck area. The shavette is easy to use! If I'm going into the city centre, then I'd definitely consider Me Tilly's for a haircut, but if I want everything doing I'd go elsewhere.

Lucky to get a walk in on a Friday lunchtime. Good friendly vibe, they accept cards also which is a bonus. £19.50 is high but its a busy city centre location and popular place. 5 Star

Excellent. Other places I went to used to butcher my beard but not this place. I have had my hair and beard cut by a couple of the lads they all do a amazing job.
