This is a great Barbers in Newcastle. It's a little pricier than some of the cheaper, Eastern European options, but I think it delivers more with a very personable and tailored service. I've never known a cohort of staff to be so friendly and remember so many customers names! They also make sure that you are totally happy. Also, it's by far the cleanest barbers that I have ever used. Cleanliness makes a difference when getting your hair and beard cut, and this shouldn't be taken for granted. I've paid twice as much sometimes for haircuts in 'trendy' places that are actually quite disgusting.

Had my first silent haircut ever today with Nick. As someone with anxiety issues going to the barbers has always been an issue for me. Having a silent cut is the most relaxing experience I’ve ever had at a barbers. Nick was great and made me feel at ease, beginning by asking for details on what I was looking for, then just cracking on with the cut, with the occasional check to see if it was the correct length etc. Great haircut, great service, will definitely be back.

Couldn’t Rate this place any higher, they provide a fantastic service. From the greeting, hair consultation, washing and cut - it’s always been on point. The time and detail taken during the cut is top of the line. I’ve always been really pleased with the finished product once the haircut is complete. Highly Recommend.

Such a quality experience and haircut. Dan was super attentive and made sure to get it exactly right while also giving me good pointers about what he thought as well. Very highly reccomend going here if you want a high standard cut. Lovely shop deco and chill atmosphere too 👍

BEST BARBER IN NEWCASTLE!! I stumbled across the Hoi Polloi on their second day after opening. Elegant design, open and airy interior I had to give this place a try. I promptly cancelled the hair appointment I was en-route to and I'm so glad I did. The guys were flexible and able to fit me in with with an appointment the same day. I opted for a cut and beard trim which together came to a discounted £35. Such a great price for the expert cut, great chat and fab hot towel beard trim you'll get here. Steve the manager was great! For sure this is the best Barber I've been to in Newcastle and I can't wait to see the Hoi Polloi go from strength to strength.

Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere inside. Brilliant cut and styling, the barber (Dan) was excellent, really attentive! The most attention to detail I've seen in a barbers before so I'm very happy with it! Good price and will definitely be returning.

The Hoi Polloi is the best barbers I’ve ever been too, it’s a calm environment and I came out with a great haircut. Sam was a phenomenal barber, he gave me a consultation which I’ve never had before at a barbers in Newcastle, listened to what I wanted and delivered it with ease. I’ve got difficult hair which he tamed well & the overall experience was awesome! Definitely recommend coming here and will be back!

From the booking of my appointment to walking out the door after my haircut, the whole experience with The Hoi Polloi was nothing but professional, enjoyable and welcoming. As soon as you enter the store you're greeted by the whole team (regardless of what's going on) and on arrival I'm always offered a delicious beer or a coffee (both locally sourced and always appreciated!) and a catch up with the lads. The pride everyone takes in their work is unbelievable and I have even taken in my son (a 3 year old who hated getting his haircut previously) and he couldn't have been looked after more, to the point where he now asks me on a regular basis "can I go back and see Sam please?!" All this goes along with the best haircut you'll get in the North East. I genuinely couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone!!

Great haircut and overall experience. Steve was very welcoming and professional. He is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about his trade and was able to suggest improvements to my standard cut/style. Very happy with the outcome and I will definitely be making this my regular barber. Steve is however a Welsh and Irish rugby supporter, but don't let that put you off... Well worth it!

A new barbershop in Newcastle but a very new experience, professional and relaxing environment. The three barbers were very welcoming and sociable , kept to the guidelines in light of the times. The shop offered a very clean comfortable environment and a calming space. Sam cut my my hair and was with out a doubt the best trim I’ve had in years, good conversation before, kept checking in throughout the cut. This is the best barber shop I have ever been too! As soon as I went in they offered me a drink (a beer 🍺) and took my jacket. Jack cleaned the station and cut my hair. He was great, had mint crack and actually knew how to cut my hair (I have coarse hair as I have African heritage). Couldn't be happier, Jack is a legend! Deserves a pint.

Amazing all round service at a really cool new Barber shop in Nun Street here. You get a cup of beverage offered on arrival and one of the best cut's Iv'e had in Newcastle by far. Easy to book online with a few clicks The place is spotless, stylish and they’ve obviously put a lot of effort into keeping staff and customers safe post lockdown.
