Second time having my hair done here. Both times the stylists have really listened and cut my hair exactly as I wanted. The experience is absolutely awesome from booking the appointment to leaving the salon. Cannot recommend this salon highly enough. Especially for those like me with curly hair who often have bad experiences in the past and struggle to find stylists they trust.

I've been coming to G&E McIntyres since they first opened, however many years ago that was and Demi started to cut my hair when Gavin became increasingly busy with with his other commitments. Demi always cuts my hair so well that I did not worry during lock-down that I couldn't have my hair done as it just grew longer but kept it's style. Although I did have some on-line tuition from Gavin on how to trim my fringe! Today I had my first post lock-down appointment & it was so wonderful to be back! It was great to see everyone & I had a good catch up with Demi whilst she re-styled my new long locks. As always, she listened to what I was hoping for and she gave me her suggestions on how it could work. I left the salon very happily swishing my hair & trying to catch glimpses in shop windows as I walked down St Giles Street. During lock-down it has been great keeping up with Gavin & Ella, through their posts on Facebook but nothing beats the feeling I had walking into the salon today. Yes, there are masks and shields & sanitisers but the warmth of the welcome is still there and the confidence I have in the team keeping me safe and in Demi cutting my hair so well has not changed at all!

Easily the best hair salon I've ever been to. The staff are all so lovely and welcoming, the atmosphere is so calm and friendly, which is probably down to the fact that the staff seem like they are all part of a family. The salon itself is so beautiful, a really luxurious environment. Gavin and Ella are two of the most talented people I know. Gavin always deals with my outrageous demands (such as going from black hair to silver) and always does such a perfect job! I receive so many compliments about my hair and I owe it all to Gavin. Gavin is one of the best hairdressers I've ever had. He always listens to exactly what I want and my hair is a big part of my confidence and I have never had any worries with trusting gavin to cut it. He always has new ideas if you are getting bored with your cut and you will always walk out of the salon feeling very happy. People always ask where I get my hair cut and I am more than happy to recommend them to Gavin! I came here with a friend invitation card (which is a great idea) and thought I'd give it a whirl. I'd always seen G&E and thought 'too posh for a girl like me' but I couldn't be happier. I came in to see Molly on Sat after not having my hair cut for 2yrs and I also hadn't been in a hairdressers salon for over 10yrs. Was nervous and super anxious about what the whole experience would be like. Molly was incredibly patient with me and after showing her a couple of photos she reassured me she understood what I was trying to achieve. At the start i was my usual awkward self of not being able to look in the mirror but by the end I was literally smiling so much that the reflection that Molly had achieved was actually me.
