The salon team are so friendly and the first thing you notice is the warm welcome. I’ve been a client for many years and can honestly say all of the stylists are super talented and professional. It’s a lovely atmosphere in the salon and I feel like part of the Octopus family. Dana is an exceptional businesswoman and has created a salon that reflects her positive and vibrant personality. Big thanks to Aimee for taking good care of me over the years; she’s such an exceptional hairdresser and truly lovely person. Thank you to the team for reopening the salon after lockdown and for implementing incredibly high safety standards for us. I visited soon after the reopening and felt very safe there with all the changes you’ve brought in. I have been visiting Octopus since I moved to Northampton 6 years ago and I love it. The girls are all so friendly and really knowledgeable. I recently went in for my post lockdown appointment and could not fault it. Dana has done a wonderful job of revamping the salon and the service was impeccable from temp checks on the way in to ensuring everything was safely done. The only downside was not being able to have a lovely cup of coffee and a biscuit! If you're looking for a hair salon then look no further!

I took my wife and our young son to Octopus in St James as he loves sea and marine life. The experience was not at all as billed, there were no aquariums and no octopuses, my son was in floods of tears and this resulted in my wife leaving me for wasting a day going to a sea world experience with no marine life. While I was there on my own, I decided I better make use of the time and get my hair cut and restyled as this is all they seem to offer at this sea-world venue. Amazing friendly staff with great knowledge of hair and colour, lovely lady called Dana running it who knows her staff and manages a really good team. Left there a single man but with an amazing cut and finish and a follow up appointment. I would not recommend going if you want your wife and children to have a fun day out with sea life as there are NO octopuses here that I could find, just amazing brilliant value hairdressers.

I have been a regular at Octopus Hair for at nearly 7 years now and I absolutely love it. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and they treat everyone so well. They are more than just a hairdressers. They are about giving you an experience and making you feel like the most important person to walk the earth from the moment you step inside the salon. Since lockdown Dana and the team have been absolutely amazing at keeping us all up to date with their plans from regular vlogs, social media posts, emails asking us how we were feeling and keeping us updated with their salon plans once they were given the go ahead. Not once did they forget about their clients and I think it's an absolute testament to how much they all love what they do. When their doors did re-open, I had no concerns about going back because I was so well informed with what they were doing at the salon to keep everyone safe. Yes, there were a few changes eg, taking your own drinks, wearing a mask, having your temperature taken but all this I knew before which made for a really enjoyable, and most importantly, safe experience. Thank you Team Octopus; can't wait for my next appointment now! Xx

Been a client of this wonderful place for a few years now. This morning I had my first appointment since covid19 lock down. Instant mood booster! As I've said before to my stylists before, I like morning appointments because of the Octopus mood boost that I get, gives me a lift throughout the day. Salon is looking fabulously chic and welcoming, not at all clinical in my opinion. The Octopus ladies are such a friendly welcoming bunch that the PPE face shield made no difference to the personal experience. With all the safety measures in place, my appointment was any longer than it usually is. The appoint was of the high standard I've always had. My face mask didn't prove any difficulty to the smooth operator that is Aimee. Then Aimee handed me over to another smooth operator, Lula, who had options ready for my next appointments then contactlessly charged me and I was done. The sad part was leaving so soon. Thank you Dana and the crew for all the planning and effort you've put in over the last few months to ensure our appointments are safe and of the highest standard and as welcoming as always.

They listen to their customers and work with you to ensure that you get as close as you can to your desired look but will also be honest with you about what is, or is not, possible.
