I came to Shades to have my hair highlighted for the first time ever, I was really cautious as my hair had been box dyed so many times. However, I am so, so happy with the results, my hair looks amazing and I feel incredible! I recommend Shades Hair and Beauty Salons 100%. Had an appointment - arrived was taken over to the chair before I realised that the person taking me to the chair was cutting my hair. No one called me in the morning to tell me beforehand that the stylist I use is out of the country. Given the poor recent reviews, there was no way I wanted anyone else to cut my hair, especially due to the complexity of the cut. First I was told that the stylist was off due to a religious holiday, then that she was out of the country and they didn't know when she would be back. Disappointed as I had such a positive experience and finding someone who can cut your hair properly is still a challenge. I've had to try somewhere else.

From the start till the end the service was amazing. They did a consultation first. They actually listen to what you would like and they explain everything. I had both a hair cut and colour. I have been to other places but this place was by far the best. This is the first place were they knew exactly what to do. The colour came out exactly how i wanted it. The cut made my hair look so healthy. The customer service is brilliant. All staff members were so friendly and made us feel welcome. All were wearing masks as well. I was amazed at how efficiently they got me and my sisters hair done. I will be back to get my hair done!

Zarka did an amazing job of giving me the rose gold bayalage that I wanted. I was quite apprehensive initially as my hair is black and can be hard to work with but everything was done in a timely and professional manner. She also recommended some good hair products for coloured hair. Very pleased with the result :)

Fantastic salon all round with great customer service. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. My hair stylist was Blerina, and I must say she did a spectacular job with my hair. In the past I have found it hard to find a good honest hair dresser who can tame my long, thick, dark hair. Blerina was very patient and managed to achieve the look I wanted. I had my hair bleached and had a treatment put onto it Aswell and my hair feels amazing would definitely recommend Chloe’s for colour she knows what she’s doing with colour. I also had my eye brows done by aman, I have been having my eye brows done with her for a few years now and she Allways gives me the perfect shape. I have also had other hairdressers doing my hair Zarka and victor. Zarka did a lovley balayage on my hair and victor did a nice bouncy blow dry for me as I like a lot of volume in my hair. I had a lovely experience having my hair done by Zarka yesterday. She is absolutely amazing. She styled my hair exactly the way I wanted and very pleased with the colour too. Staff was very friendly and caring. While I had my colour on, I had my eyebrows and nails done, they offered me tea & coffee.... Basically I had a very relaxing time and super happy about my treatments. I would highly recommend to all my friends & family. Please ask for Zarka, she is very professional for what she does. I would definitely go there again.

I went to go and get my hair done today and after being told by one hairdresser but she didn’t feel comfortable doing what I wanted I was greeted by a lovely young lady named becca . She listen to me on what I wanted And worked with me on what would look good . She had a lovely friend called Chloe as well who was lovely and very chatty. The experience was incredible and my hair looks amazing now I’ve had lots of compliments from my friends. I strongly recommend this lady because she is a very good and very talented at what she does especially when we were constantly interrupted by another member of staff who wanted to take over.

Absoultley adore this salon! I have been going to Shades since I've started uni, and have received a high standard of treatment every time. The staff always make you feel comfortable, and the visit is always a pleasure! I recently had my hair extensions done there by Chloe! I would definitely recommend her as she did a fantastic job for an amazing price! She's also lovely to talk to, and keeps you entertained during the 5 hours of putting them in! 18/09/21 My hair was in really awful shape. I went from London to Northampton again to get my hair sorted. On arrival I was welcomed with Zarka and her staff. Zarka gave me a consultation regarding my hair understanding totally what I wanted. My hair was very long but dead. Zarka used Goldwell products on my hair which totally gave my hair life instantly. Zarka used wondaful blend of colours in my hair which suited my skin. The hair cut was done so perfectly. While I was waiting for the colour to process in my hair, I got my eye brows micro bladed. I had awful shaped eye brows with alot of gaps. Microblading done by Amaan enhanced my eyebrows and gave a lovely arch shape, which looked so natural. As usual Zarka and the staff of shades did a fantastic job! If you want perfection with your hair colour and cut this is the place to go!!! I always had issues trusting salons in London. I have been to Toni & Guy, Regis, and loads of other brands but never felt happy with my hair,and colour. I tried shades 8 years ago and after that there was no turning back. Shades always make me feel at home. I am always relaxed. My hair is given such a beautiful colour and a fantastic modern cut which suits my face. I have also got party make up done by Zarka which was done so nicely. I live in London but I get my hair & makeup done in Northampton and its definitely worth going there. I rate shades 10/10 you wont be disappointed!

I came in today to have my hair coloured and cut on very short notice and had a fabulous time! All of the staff made me feel extremely welcome as soon as I walked in and within minutes I was sat down with a cup of tea to have a chat about what I wanted done. Jermaine is an incredibly talented colourist and stylist! He made my very dark hair blend naturally into caramel tones and I've had nothing but compliments all day! As well as that he was lovely to chat to, very funny and friendly and makes an excellent cuppa!! I honestly can't recommend shades highly enough! They were reasonably priced, lovely to all of their customers and my hair turned out better than I ever expected! Will 100% be back again!

Lordus was lovely, very professional with lots of communication, explaining what she was doing each step of the process but she also listened to what I had in mind. The hair stylists at Shades really know their stuff! My work colleagues bought me a voucher for my birthday so I popped in and the guy sat down and went through everything with me and how it all worked, as well as giving me some advice on the type of colours I should go with for my highlights. Then when I went to get my hair done, the girl who did my highlights was so friendly and totally took care of me, and made me feel like a superstar! Nice place. Always so friendly and the lady there (with the glasses) always explains what she is doing and what will benefit you. I went here for waxing face and threading eyebrows and it is always great. However, this time I was with a new lady and she was good but kept going over the same eyebrow with the tweezer after and it was sore as hell after with bruising and developed into scabs. It also took a lot longer but appreciate she is training. But don't be put off because it really is a wonderful place to come. They are also flexible, sometimes you can walk in without an appointment.

A lovely friendly salon with a great range of treatments. I love how they do my hair and eyebrows and I've just had the latest eyelash treatment there today. Lash Up dyes and curls your eyelashes so they look thicker and make your eyes look so much better. And no clumping or bits like you get with mascara!

Today i had Loudeous do my hair she gave me a complete makeover wonderful attention to detail made me very comfortable and relaxed was so thorough and nothing was to much trouble she really looked into extra detail with bleaching colour and even gave extra treatment where neccasary . So happy with my hair amazing job and customer service also offered refreshments highly recommended ! Amazing salon and superb customer service. Treatment is awesome. I had a conditioning treatment for my hair today as well as a colour, cut and blow dry .... they did an amazing job and it looks and feels completely different and healthy. Previously I have had a manicure pedicure (with Ellie) and an Indian head massage (with Lucas) ... magical experience. I also go here for my threading and they are very professional, friendly and Aaman especially is very neat. The owners (zarkha and Sahil) and staff are very well trained and know exactly what they are doing and deliver beyond your expectations.I would not choose anywhere else to go other than this place..... I know some of their customers travel very far to come here which just shows how great they are.

Impressive size salon but prices are very steep - alternative around the corner, Shine is half the price and stylists are just as good. Also push relentlessly for you to buy other products. I had my stylist, the manager, and even the receptionist push me to either have my eyelashes tinted, eyebrows threaded or have a head massage. I don't mind being told about other products but repetitive product promotion annoys me and is only guaranteed to make me take my business elsewhere. Unlikely to use again.

This was my third time at the salon, first two were cuts this time was an ombre hair colour. Each time the result we're good, the staff friendly and professional. Can't complain at all. However, the cuts I always booked via treatwell and knew in advance what the price will be. The ombre, I booked in the salon and forgot to ask what time price would be - a mistake. Afterwards, I was quoted £59 which is fair enough, if that's what it is that's what it is. BUT I have checked the website afterwards and it says 'from £40'. My hair is not even shoulder length, so I don't see why it was so much more than the website price. And even if it really is so much more, I would have appreciated an explanation of the price at the time.. I would recommend the salon but only when you know in advance what the price is or are used to bartering as if you were on holidays in a third world country.
