Without a doubt the best hair dressers I've been to. Second time I'm getting my hair dyed professionally, and Megan remembers me, after 3 years. Like I don't expect them to remember me. But this place is great, always!

Usually get my hair cut by Jay and he always does a fantastic job! Been going here since before I came out/started transistioning and they're always very polite and respectful Had Harry shave my undercut & give me a fade and it looks ace! 10/10 reccomend

Kay is the best! He asked me what I wanted doing and it was my first haircut since pre lockdown, I had no idea what I wanted! But he cut my hair a treat and then styled it too, I felt fresh and new and like the cobwebs of the past years were swept away, along with my split ends. My new favourite place to get my hair done. The service is top rate.

Before visiting, I’d had a haircut I was really unhappy with as my usual hairdresser had to isolate and I went to someone that didn’t really suit my style. I had heard good things about 28 so I booked in, it was hassle free and got one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had! Jay was super friendly, professional, cut my hair even better than the pictures I showed him for reference and was crazy reasonable on price too. I have a cowslick so my fringe is hellish usually but he has somehow manage to tame that too! 10/10 recommend! Ace salon!

Popped in for a last minute trim and was seen by Jed. Had about 2 months growth from a buzz cut so just wanted a little off the back and sides. Asked for a 0.5 taper and to leave the top alone . I don't think Jed is quite sure what a taper is as he just used a clipper without changing the head attachment once and proceeded to clipper over comb all around the sides. After what was about a 10-15 minute trim the end result was not how I wanted. Overall jeds a likeable guy with good talks, but didn't seem very passionate about giving a good trim.

OK, I don't normally write reviews but, today , I feel I need to! I have been going to Twenty Eight for a few years now and always really happy with my haircut. Over the last year , Claire has cut my hair and she is great, really makes me feel at ease and does a brilliant job at understanding what I want, even though I'm not sure myself! Had an appointment today with Claire, got home and the family keep telling me, it's the best haircut I've ever had! Thank you Claire.

Came here 5 times in the last year during my studies and I have to say it's an amazing barbershop! The staff is professional and excellent. The location is cool and the pricing is reasonable for this central location! There is a student discount of about 20% from Monday to Wednesday. Joseph is a great lad and knows his profession well. I highly recommend this place!

Really love this place friendly and welcoming staff, had my coloured by the lovely Alice she is really friendly and professional. Danny cuts my hair and always does a brilliant job really knowledgeable about what style is best for you and your hair but always takes into consideration your requirements couldnt recommend them more. Love this place....I've been there a fair few times and hadn't reviewed it, but whilst looking on the web i came across Bob Amy's review which was poor. On closer inspection it appears that he makes a habit of giving hairdressers in Nottingham a bad review...you might think that he had an anterior motive? Anyway, the decor is considered, the music is cool and the staff are friendly. I could not recommend it highly enough...Jay served me and he was great, my Mrs goes to Danny and he is also exceptional.

This place is great for style. A good unisex hairdressers in a populated city is a rare find, and I must say, I've never been so pleased with the end result. It's a much better alternative to all the tacky men's barbers dotted about the city and all the overpriced salons the girls use. The people in there are both friendly and professional and there's a clear emphasis on young fashion that makes it attractive to students. Top notch, will go again!

Fabulous! Had highlights and a cut done today by Helen, and I am absolutely thrilled! If you want a great haircut in a quirky space with really friendly staff, 28 is the perfect hairdressers. My hair is always cut EXACTLY how I want it. They're not know-alls, they're knowledgeable. BIG difference. Highly recommended and excellent value.

Great haircut experience, easy to use online booking system, even allow you to choose the hairdresser you want. Staff is really friendly, they listen intently on what you want, attentive to your needs. Generally a haircut takes from 20 mins to half an hour. Price is comparable to competition in the city centre.

This is a place with real character that has stood the test of time while other salons and barbers have come and gone. It’s definitely the most distinctive hairdressers’ in Hockley amid the various interchangeable chrome palaces and it’s been my regular choice for nearly a decade. I’ve always found the staff welcoming and capable. The owner Jay is a real asset to Hockley, and he's always been friendly and professional whenever I’ve been in there - and a fine barber to boot!

A good barbers, been here a few times and although very pricey you get a very good/ unique cut if you ask for it. Have sometimes also had to wait 15-20 minuites past my appointment time but always been worth it

First time going today, first impressions looked great from the outside and inside was perfect, booked myself in for a haircut 💇‍♂️ and was surprised I got an appointment to come back in 15 minutes which was great as that’s what I wanted, I came back into the shop and was told to take a seat 🛋 which was nice, I chatted to a man waiting for a few minutes and then had a very nice female barber 💈 cut my hair and listen to abit of my life story (problems) she was very professional and listened like she genuinely cared thank you as it really helped speaking to a stranger without getting judged

(Translated) I couldn't speak English, but it was good to be kind. Deulyeoseo a long time tend to cut hard. Usually in England, when I cut my hair, nine out of ten are ruined. The price is slightly higher than elsewhere, but it doesn't seem to be that expensive in the UK. (Original) 영어를 못 했는데 친절하게 응대해줘서 좋았다. 시간 많이 들여서 열심히 잘라주는 편이다. 보통 영국에서 머리 자르면 열에 아홉은 망하는데 여기서는 평타 이상이라서 기분이 좋았다. 가격은 다른 곳에 비해서 살짝 비싸지만 영국에서는 그렇게 비싼 편은 아닌 듯하다.
