I’ve been going to Capelli’s for years now. Monica is a delight and at this point, is more an old friend than a barber shop owner. She has adapted my style over the years, listened to what I want and nothing is too much work. It’s always a pleasure to chat away for the 20 mins it takes to cut my hair, and the pricing is so reasonable, it makes coming in for little and often haircuts very affordable. Although booking isn’t required, it’s sometimes good to call ahead and see how busy she’s been as you could find yourself waiting a little while.

This is the place where my partner gets his regular haircut, he's writing this review. He's been coming here for a few years. He really like how the haircut looks like, and how quickly it is done. The owner is very nice and friendly, everything looks clean and professional. If I have to think of a downside, it is that it is slightly pricy (I think 16 quid, if I remember right).

This is the first place in Oxford where I feel I had a proper haircut. The lady that cut my hair took her time to understand the style I wanted and she paid attention to details. In other barber shops I feel they rush the haircut just to do as many clients as they can, while in here I felt I had an excellent professional service and a lovely chat too.

I've been coming to Capelli's since it opened, which must say something about the place! Always been well looked after, friendly atmosphere and good service. I feel like they spend the time to get your cut right rather than rushing through to get to the next customer. Yes I have occasionally had to wait 5-10 minutes but I want a decent cut so happy to wait. Even my wife pauses to comment 'nice haircut' when I get home so what higher praise do you need!

By the time I turned up, a bit late after work, the barber shop was closed. However, Monica spotted me from inside and before she turned absolutely everything off, she let me in and made me the last cut of the day. Monica is charming and does a really good cut. Highly recommended. Ciao

Capelli are an unusual barber in being prepared to cut women's hair as well as men's - if (like me) you wear your hair cropped short and object to paying sky-high prices at a salon, then Monica will cut it beautifully and very quickly for less than £20. Also love the fact you can just walk in (though sometimes understandably this means a wait, though on weekdays rarely long). Not all the staff are confident cutting women's hair, though, so I've sometimes had to come back another day. To those people claiming some staff are rude, maybe bear in mind that English isn't their first language and that most of us probably sound more "direct" in a second language where we don't have a lot of nuance? Convenient, quick and very good value :-)

With a young son, I am new to the whole ‘barber experience’. I have really struggled finding anywhere that does a decent job. Was always looking at this barbers on Botley Road on the way to work and I noticed it had parking- result for near central Oxford. Decided to make the journey from Witney one weekend and so glad I did- what an absolute gem of a find. Finally my little boy has a haircut I’m proud of. All my friends have asked where he went.
